Built circa 1896, this home underwent a major renovation overseen by local architect James Palmer, yet it still retains many of its original architectural elements, such as doors, hardware, arched entry doors, fireplaces and their tilework and mantels, and all the windows visible from Washington Street. Hobson Hall is owned by a local artist who was recently awarded a residency at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria. You’ll see many of her beautiful original paintings on display throughout the home.

Architect Henry Hobson Richardson pioneered the Richardson Romanesque Revival Style, which incorporates 11th and 12th-century southern French, Spanish and Italian Romanesque characteristics. A stylish wet bar with a wine fridge adds convenience.
