Wonderful historic property in the heart of Alexandria. Tours were stopping briefly out front to explain the property’s connection with George Washington. Easy walk to shops, great restaurants, and the Torpedo Factory. Friendly and communicative host makes check-in, -out, and any other matters easy - hosted a 16 person birthday party with ample table space and seating, provided by the host, and a caterer set up in the courtyard. Highly recommend.

Wonderful historic house. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds comfy. Great location in Old Town with easy walking distances to restaurants, shops, historic landmarks and the waterfront.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Duvall House. The house is beautiful and the history is amazing. The location is great - close to everything. It was a very comfortable stay. Chris is extremely responsive and helpful. Would highly recommend!

We love this house! It is easy and comfortable, and all of the George and Martha Washington decor is fun. We’ve stayed 2 years in a row for graduations with varied ages. There is so much to do in the neighborhood.

Wonderful Historic Stay

Our family absolutely loved our stay at Duvall House! The home was spacious enough for all 8 of us and had modern and spacious bathrooms and kitchen. The home is beautiful and filled with antiques and reproductions that make it easy to envision the past. Old Town Alexandria is a charming location that is filled with cute shops and eateries a short walk away from the house. Yet it is also easy to go into DC to see the sights there. I highly recommend Duvall House for those who love history! (For a fun activity, count all the pictures of George Washington in the house!)

Duvall House is impeccably lovely, charming, and comfortable; bright and cheerful; historic and beautiful, yet with every modern convenience and comfort. Having grown up in Old Town, staying at Duvall House literally made us all feel perfectly at home. Chris our Host is amazing; so very kind, helpful, and attentive. Our stay was perfect in every way!

A Sanctuary During a Difficult TimeI stayed in this beautiful home in Alexandria, Virginia during my husband’s funeral, and I can’t express enough gratitude for the comfort and care I experienced. The host Chris was exceptional—patient, kind, and deeply understanding. Every detail of the house was thoughtfully arranged, creating a peaceful and welcoming space that truly felt like a sanctuary. In a time of sorrow, this home provided not just shelter, but solace. I will always remember the warmth and compassion extended to me and my family while there.

Absolutely wonderful place to have our wedding.

I cannot say enough fantastic things about our time at the Duvall House. The house was the perfect location for our small wedding in the back patio, and the lodging was perfect for our families who came in from out of town. The house itself is chock full of great talking points, ambiance, and the location cannot be beat just blocks away from the main part of Old Town. And the host Chris is the best host you could ask for, helping to set the house up appropriately for our special day. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Charming Comfortable Clean

If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable and charming home in the heart of Old Town and minutes from DC, look no further. Tucked behind City Hall and steps from vibrant King Street, the house offers a quiet place to relax and sleep yet is only a few minutes walk to charming shops and restaurants and a very short drive to DC museums. The host could not be more gracious and easy to work with.

Outstanding place for visiting DC, Alexandria

Outstanding property and host. Great spot for visiting DC. A block away from the trolley stop that will take you to the Metro. Runs 11am to 11pm little over a mile walk if trolley isn’t running. Alexandria is also a great spot to visit in itself, coffee shops, restaurants, shopping etc. also the Alexandria Riverfront. The home is comfortable, clean and well kept. Would highly recommend.

Just wow…

We are history buffs and this couldn’t have been a better property. Both for the location and for the house itself. We felt like we were going back in time but with modern conveniences. The location saved us money on car rental as we didn’t need one as well. The hosts were responsive and helped in so many ways. We will be back.

Memories were made!

This stay was our best ever! The location was so close to everything. DC was just a 12 minute uber, Reagan airport only 10 min. Old Town Alexandria was so fun, live music, wonderful restaurants and the waterfront. Our hose Chris was so welcoming! The house was immaculate, the amenities plentiful, and kitchen well appointed. He was so kind. When storms threatened our flight home, he offered to let us stay a few more days. I can't say enough about his hospitality or the beautiful historic home. Thanks Chris!
