I want to respond to your review and clarify a few things. The home was professionally cleaned the day of your arrival and again after your stay. While a few ants may be present this time of year, there was nothing excessive observed before or after your visit. You mentioned towels downstairs. There were more than enough towels and washcloths provided for your party of six, and additional towels were located in the cabinet. Had you asked, I would have gladly pointed that out. Your group left the home in a very poor condition. Food and crumbs were left throughout the house, and the linens were heavily soiled to the point they required multiple washes. There were stains that went through the mattress protector and onto the mattress, along with strong odors of feces and urine. During your stay, you shared that you enjoyed the home and how nice it was. The concerns raised in your review only came after I sent a respectful message asking if you would assist with a portion of the additional cleaning costs due to the condition left behind. Regarding the blankets, multiple additional linens were used from the storage closet during a 3-day stay. I did acknowledge that I could have been clearer about those items not being part of the guest setup. However, the extra usage still resulted in additional cleaning, which is why I asked for help covering that cost. Instead of simply declining, your response became disrespectful. The $50 request was reasonable considering the additional work required. I already charge less than my actual cleaning cost to keep stays affordable, and when there is excessive cleaning required, I do ask the guest responsible to assist. Your 3-star rating appears to be in response to that request rather than a reflection of your overall stay, based on your own comments while you were here. I would not recommend this guest based on the condition the home was left in and the communication that followed. I take pride in maintaining my property and providing a good experience for my guests, and I will continue to do so.
