They view from the front is idyllic! It looks out over the New River with the mountains behind. Mornings are spectacular with the mist. This is just five minutes from the New River Rail Trail trailhead in Galax.

Paradise on the River!

The perfect river cottage for three couples. Super clean with all of the needed amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed the large fire pit, pavilion area, ping pong table and the flat river frontage. We did two canoe trips launching from Baywood and Riverside. Can’t wait to come back for another adventure.

Great Stay

We came down to visit family. Had a great experience. Spent the long weekend bbqing and fishing down at the river. House was clean, nice, and spacious. Every room had a view of the river! Location was perfect. Less than 10 minute drive to local groceries and restaurants. We definitely plan to stay again next time we are up that way.

Beautiful views!

This house is perfect! It is well-stocked and overlooks the river. The check-in process was seamless. The kitchen has plenty of dishes/cookware. Linens are nice and the house is comfortable. We loved it!!!

Excellent property

We came in the area to do a roofing job. Place was amazing from the views to the fishing. We only regret not getting to spend more time there. We will be back soon.

A-mazing!!

Where to begin?! This house is on the river. Very clean, great location, plenty of everything you need to enjoy time there. My husband and I spent most of our time outside. He went fishing everyday and we ate good! The outdoor covered area is spacious and great for getting some sun or reading a book, and we enjoyed the fire pit one evening. The owner was very responsive to questions and check in was a breeze. The house also has an unfinished basement with a ping pong table and another place to hang out but we didn’t use that. Everything is well maintained and frankly, a bit luxurious. We said many times during our stay how great the space is and we didn’t want to leave! We will definitely be back!!

Amazing river stay

My sister's and my family had an amazing time at this property for a long weekend. We grew up in Galax but there are now too many of us to fit at grandma's house so we needed somewhere to stay and this was the perfect find. We never got tired of the gorgeous view - even when foggy or raining it was simply beautiful to see the river from so many parts of the house. The outdoor covered area is fantastic - great seating, awesome views. And we really loved the fire pit on the other side too. Kids (and adults!) enjoyed making smores. We liked the layout of the house with the two smaller bedrooms and shared bath on one end, living/dining room in the middle, and master on the other end. Master shower was amazing! Will be great when the basement gets finished out and another bedroom added! Host was super quick to respond to any questions and check in/out was a breeze. Look forward to staying again!

Perfect Peaceful Place

This place is so peaceful and enjoyable. My husband and I were the first renters of this beautiful new home. This trip was just what we needed to celebrate our 10th anniversary. Definitely a great place to bring the family. The access to the home is convenient with only 4 steps so the elderly can get in easy. Views of the river are enjoyable from every room so one can see all the river action from anywhere inside the home or outside on the many places to sit and relax. Large kitchen with everything you need and the covered picnic area with the table and charcoal grill was awesome. We enjoyed grilling and having dinner and wine in such a perfect setting. The fire pit was enjoyed even in August.The river is accessible but make sure you have shoes and hold on to the rope tied in the tree for balance. I enjoyed the river by tying my tube to the tree but There are several places you can launch your tube or kayak up river and then float back to the house. Just 10 minutes to Galax in case you need something. Many places to eat shop and visit. Missed the Fiddlers Convention this year which is one of the best event’s I have ever attended. 87 years and running. Definitely will be coming back to this beautiful place. The Riddicks

House was very clean and had all the essentials needed for a great stay by the river. Awesome place to grill under the large covered area with ample seating for a group. Very convenient to access the rail trail in Galax and Fries.
