Summary: Cozy, budget-friendly apartment in the heart of Capitola Village. Just 1-2 blocks from the beach, shops, and restaurants. Compact space with 1 bedroom, pullout couch, and kitchenette. Shared outdoor area. Best for guests who value location over luxury.
We allow 1 dog, up to 30 lbs, with a $25/day pet fee. There is potential for noise due to it being the bottom unit.
The Space: - Sleeps up to 4 adults. It creates a tight squeeze for 4 people but is a great value stay in the heart of Capitola Village. - 1 bedroom - king bed - 1 bathroom - No designated parking spaces - We provide 1 parking pass for free street parking. Close-by parking is usually easy to find but can be difficult during busy beach days in the village. - Fully stocked kitchen w/ Keurig coffee maker - Living room with pull-out couch. Please note, the living and kitchen space is very cozy when the sofa sleeper is being used. - Small shared patio area
Note: - No gatherings or parties allowed (strictly enforced) - The exterior of this home is monitored by 24/7 surveillance recording devices for safety. - Smart TVs with streaming capabilities (no local channels or cable). - Dog Friendly (1 dog, 30lbs of less) for a $25/night fee. Let us know if you want to bring your pet! We are not able to host more than one dog or any other types of pets at this home. - Noise does carry from above so this may not be the best location for light sleepers.
Guest Access: Guests will have full access to the entire lower apartment. There is no parking spot designated for this unit. We provide a parking pass and a map of the permitted and available parking areas. The outdoor sitting area, BBQ, and beach gear are available for your use and also shared with the neighbors.
The Neighborhood: Capitola is a coastal jewel in Santa Cruz County. This charming seaside village is known for its colorful beachfront houses, coastal boutiques, and fantastic dining options. With a relaxed atmosphere, Capitola is a paradise for beach lovers and water sports enthusiasts. Stroll along the picturesque Capitola Beach and explore the unique shops and eateries. The city's scenic beauty, combined with a vibrant community, creates a perfect beachfront destination. Plus, its proximity to Santa Cruz offers easy access to the Boardwalk and additional attractions, making Capitola a delightful coastal retreat.
This is not a good place for gatherings or parties so please keep that in mind when booking this home. We are very respectful of our neighbors and will not tolerate loud noise past curfew and additional guests at the property.
Getting Around: - Whole Foods, New Leaf, and Safeway (3-6 minute drive) - Downtown Santa Cruz and the famous Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (15-20 minute drive North) - The Monterey Bay Aquarium (50 minute drive South)
Other Things to Note: - This neighborhood is very lively and on a main road, so there is some traffic noise throughout the day and occasionally at night. There is also another unit above and noise does travel. If you are sensitive to noise, this might not be the best place for you. We do provide a noise machine that does a great job drowning out the noise from the road and neighbors. - There is no on-site parking, however, we do provide a parking pass and a map of the permitted spaces. - The unit is small and cozy, with Smart TVs and a big King bed. The Unit is on the first floor with a private entrance. Please note, the living and kitchen space is small when the sofa sleeper is being used. It creates a tight squeeze for 4 people but is a great value stay in the heart of Capitola Village. - We are required to stick to our cancellation policy and we suggest adding trip insurance for any last-minute issues that may impact your travel (Weather, Illness, etc). We are not able to cancel, move or refund bookings that do not fall in our cancellation policy for any reason. - TV is a smart tv with streaming capabilities. There are no cable or local channels. - The exterior of this home is monitored by 24/7 surveillance recording devices for safety.

Great location! Close to the beach, shops and restaurants. Clean, comfortable bed, and cozy place. Only negative was the neighbors upstairs were a little noisy, but not too bad. Brought a sound machine since it mentioned in the description. Would stay here again

Great location and great communication with host. The location of the unit is fairly noisy with the other tenants in the building since the walls are really thin and the unit is downstairs, but we knew that before going with reading previous reviews.

Super cute and Cozy. I brought my 3 year old whom is special needs and she was very comfortable here. The guests upstairs weren't too loud. If your a light sleeper you might need a sound machine but other then that we had a great time.

Great location walkable to everything you need. Friendly neighbors. As others have mentioned there is noise in the upstairs unit. Large overhead lights. The lights on the bed did not work because the batteries were dead.

Shops and restaurants in walking distance and the beach also. I would love a view but it was quiet for us, not alot of street noise or neighbors. My only suggestion is to have an extra blanket in the closet. Heater is in the bedroom and works great but sitting area/kitchen gets quite cold in am. If you want to be in sitting area so partner can sleep, its cold. Enjoyed the stay, thank you

Great Little Spot
Great location: close to the Capitola village, but off the main street so it stays quiet. We took our coffee down to the beach each morning and enjoyed the sunrise over the water. Well appointed and clean, timely communication with the host. We would stay here again.

Great Location
The home was very clean and well equipped and the location is great. While the upstairs apartment is occupied, the downstairs apartment we stayed in can get quite noisy even with normal movement and conversations.

Well organized and clean in a good location near downtown.. Parking was not clearly explained and pet charges were a surprise and not clearly stated in the marketing material, but otherwise, we were very satisfied and had a great stay.

The unit was really cute and well kept. I would suggest have more places to have luggage accessible and bathroom space is very minimal but not much you could do with that. The bedroom tv was stuck on someone’s account which had not been cleared so was unusable. There was coffee in the container but no drip coffee maker! Pods for the Keurig would have been nice. Thanks for the granola bars!

Perfect getaway
I come to Capitola often and this was my first stay here The apartment is so cozy and tucked away a couple blocks off the main streets so relatively quiet. The small kitchenette was well appointed for a short stay and had all the essentials. Foot traffic in the upstairs unit is quite loud (primarily due to hardwood floors) but I was otherwise to have respectful neighbors in regards to additional noise. Overall a very cute comfortable place to stay for an adult weekend getaway.

Cute, clean, fresh. Great location!Dishes were put away dirty. We just superwashed everything we used beforehand. We were able to communicate that right away and received a timely response. The keypad lock gave us problems and on the last evening quit working and we had to leave the door unlocked as we had dinner plans. That wasxwhere the communication, which had been good failed. But the next day they did get back to us with a compensation offer which we accepted. The inability to lock the door was unnerving. At night there is deadbolt which helped us feel better.So- adorable place. Great location and pretty good communication regarding problems.We really liked it overall.Parking can be a problem FYI

Do not book this property!
Just a warning to anyone interested in this property, make sure to read through the entire description before booking as this place has the worst cancellation policy I’ve ever seen. Also , the property is listed as “pet friendly” in the title but there’s actually a maximum of 1 pet that’s less than 30lbs- which is barely pet friendly to me .
While staying at the property the room is the size of a small hotel room and it’s not very well stocked. The upstairs neighbor is extremely loud so bring ear plugs or be ready to be woken up at all hours of the night. The area around this room does not seem very safe, we had to park on the street due to lack of parking available and there were vehicles with broken out windows around us so bring any valuables inside . Do yourself favor and reconsider if you’re actually interested in booking this room .
