Where do I begin??? OK, at the beginning. I rented to her in October and again (foulishly) in February. This guest did not disclose pets the first or second time. There were two dogs that pooped and peed everywhere and disturbed the neighbors with barking in the backyard. I do not allow smoking anywhere on the property and there were two smokers (different empty packs of cigarettes in the trash. She drank all my wine and soft drinks both times and there were numerous empty hard liquor bottles in the trash. My wine was in a refrigerator in the garage, clearly marked off limits. She also drank two bottles of my tequilla leaving only a teaspoon in each bottle, putting them back in the cabinet. There seemed to be unsupervisored children as well as dogs and drunken adults. She said there would be one person staying the second time, but there were at least three adults, three children and two dogs. Adults had to be drunk most of the time based on the amount of alcohol consumed (I went through the trash and there were numerous empty liquor bottles. If that makes me crazy, so be it). They tried to put crab shells down the disposal resulting in having a plumber come on a Sunday. There was junk jewelry and beads strewn everywhere as if they had had a Mardi Gras Party. A ceiling fan was broken, perhaps by children pulling on the chain and possibly beheading plastic toys in the blades. I found the fan pull in pieces under the bed and the plastic head of a robot toy. In phone conversations and texts she bragged about her wealth and connections and threatened me. There was evidence of bouncing on the twin beds, shredding the bed skirts, and a cotton blanket appeared to be chewed by a dog. There were brown stains on three bed spreads. Needless to say, we have had to do extra work and suffer abuse from this guest. I have been a host for eight years and have never had an experience like this. Potential guests who read this should know that everything is back to normal now at the property. They should also know that I do have high standards and expect guests to read and adhere to house rules.
