Enjoy nature at comfortable home with private beach on Brazos River!
Escape the city for the rejuvenation of nature. This home (720 sf) sits on 14.5 acres with Brazos River access (2 community sites, 2 private beaches on our land). This gated community tucked in the Palo Pinto mountains has views that will take your breath away! After a day of fishing/swimming/kayaking (kayaks included), indulge in cooking dinner outside on the Blackstone followed by fire pit s'mores. Enjoy a cold drink on the porch swing or opt for ping pong, corn hole or games. You'll see cows, birds, deer and more.
The space:
LOCATION: This property is remote. It's a gorgeous 15-17 minute (9-mile) drive on gravel roads from FM-4. It takes ~20-25 minutes to get to town (Graford). The house is ~20 minutes to Rocker B Ranch (baseball) or to Rochelle's if you would like to use their shuttle service for floating the river, rentals or kayak shuttle service.
BRAZOS RIVER: There are 2 private community access points to the Brazos river as well as a path on our land to two private beaches. They are approximately one mile from the house. The private beaches are accessible with an SUV. For the community paths, one is accessible with a car (preferably SUV but can get to it without SUV). The other is accessible via parking and walking. As there are no street names or markers, I'll include a detailed map and pictures.
FRONT PORCH: 2 rocking chairs & swing. Blackstone and prep table and (instructions inside house). Enjoy the most amazing sunsets from the front deck!
NATURE: This land is natural, wild and beautiful. Just know you'll be sharing it with other creatures. You will see cows/deer/birds/spiders/grasshoppers, etc. When you're outside you'll hear roosters. You could see a snake, scorpion, etc. (unlikely since they are more scared of you but could happen). The roads are gravel so with the grass/red earth, everything is a bit dusty. Our cleaner deep cleans the inside!
STAIRS: Living space is upstairs (steep stairs) so ensure you're able to climb stairs to haul things in/out as needed.
KITCHEN: Fully equipped kitchen to cook . Full refrigerator/freezer with ice trays provided in freezer. Pots, pans, Instant Pot to cook most dishes. Plates, bowls, trays, cutting boards and glassware/plastic cups. Spoons, forks, knives and abundant utensils are provided. There are lot of food storage containers. Electric stove with oven and four burners and microwave. There is a large farm sink but no dishwasher. There is a fire extinguisher located in window next to pantry. We have filtered well water (mineral profile) or feel free to bring your own drinking water.
There are a total of 3 sleeping areas; two private bedrooms, one loft (all have fans):
MAIN BEDROOM: This main bedroom has one queen size bed with two bed side tables with an iPhone and apple watch charger. There is a small closet.
SECONDARY ROOM: The second bedroom has two twin beds.
LOFT: There is a small loft with a twin mattress, reading light, rug, curtains and bean bag. Kids play for hours in the loft. There is a ladder to access to loft.
LIVING ROOM: The living room has a leather couch, two oversized chairs, many games and blankets.
KAYAKS: There are 2 kid kayaks and 1 adult kayak (for 2 people), oars and life jackets in the garage - adult kayak under shed next to driveway. Please treat like your own. You will be charged for any broken or missing equipment. You'll need to use a vehicle or 4x4 to haul these to and from the river. We do have some green straps in garage you can use to strap kayaks to vehicle.
GARAGE: The shop is the perfect place for a little competitive fun! Play a game of ping-pong, corn hole, ring toss (under deck), or jenga! The shop is unfinished, so there is no AC or heat, but there is electricity. There are extra hooks in the garage and on the wooden beams under the deck for hanging towels.
AC/HEAT: Central Air HVAC system.
OUTSIDE: Get campfire vibes! There are outdoor chairs for lounging by the fire pit (inside garage/under the deck) and we provide you with S'mores sticks! Enjoy meals outside in the evenings or listen to birds and roosters while sipping on coffee in the mornings. Relax with a good book on the porch swing. Explore the rock trails or feel free to hike around our property. Soak in the views and enjoy a cold beer after a special day on the river. Always check Palo Pinto County Burn Bans before starting outdoor fires.
STARS: We have a telescope you're welcome to use. With low lights out there, the stars and Milky Way put on a show on a clear night.
BATHROOM: The bathroom has tub/shower, toilet and vanity! Youâll find a blow-dryer available should you need and extra hooks for towels.
WIFI: We have high-speed Internet with Starlink! Take Zoom meetings with ease and enjoy streaming multiple devices at once.
TRASH: There is NO trash service in this community as it is remote (9 miles from Highway 4). All trash must be taken with you at checkout. We have plenty of garbage bags and a large closable barrel in the garage where you can keep your full trash bags during your stay.
TV: We have ROKU TV. You're welcome to download any apps and use your account while there. Once you enter your check-out date on the TV, it will automatically log you out.
STORAGE: the home is small. There are drawers built into the master queen bed. There is no closet in twin room, but there is storage under the beds for luggage.
PETS: We love dogs! We have a set of pet bowls your dog can use (bottom shelf of pantry) and may have a few milk bones on hand. Please be a responsible pet owner and clean up after your pet. You are responsible for picking up all âgiftsâ left in fenced yard. We want every stay to be extremely clean, and that takes a lot of work! PLEASE, do not allow pets on sofa or in beds. There is a hose downstairs and dog shampoo under the sink. Please make sure your pet is dry after a swim in the river before coming inside. You will be fined or asked to replace furniture if pets destroy furniture by chewing or using the bathroom on rugs or furniture that cannot be cleaned or fixed. You can bring 1 dog on your stay with a pet fee of $50 (no cats or puppies).
PARKING: We have plenty of parking with a gravel roundabout. There is an outdoor camera facing the parking lot and one on the porch area. This is a security camera with flood light that detects movement/sound. No cameras indoors of course.
GUEST ACCESS: You'll have full access to the garage and home. We have a high shelf and small cabinet labeled as owners- otherwise, it's all yours! If you forget something, check with me, and I most likely have it there.

Ă propos de lâhĂŽte
HÎte : Anna
We're the Martin family. We love to travel and to experience new foods, people, places and cultures. We have boy/girl twins and a daughter. My husband was born and raised in Texas. I grew up in North Carolina. We love to mix active nature time with relaxing movie/TV time. Some of our favorite destinations so far have been Fernando de Noronha, Brazil, Barcelona, and Cinque Terra, Italy. We are excited to host.
Voici pourquoi lâhĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement
We adore the Brazos River and Palo Pinto mountain range. It's so serene and soothes the stress of everyday life. It's so fun to walk the trails, play in the water, make s'mores, star gaze and enjoy a coffee or cocktail with a spectacular view.
Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique
Our property is truly a remote nature escape. We have 14 acres and will soon have a private sandy beach! Almost all sides of the Brazos are privately owned, so this is a wonderful opportunity to get private community access to swim, fish, kayak or float in the river.
