Welcome to the quiet side of Patoka Lake. The Ponderosa cabin is perfect for large groups or multiple families under one roof. Enjoy the lake or let the kids play outside on our 6 acre property.
The cabin is fully furnished, satellite TV, full HVAC, Charcoal grill and offers multiple fire pits to enjoy nighttime activities. There are three bedrooms, a large loft, and two full Baths within the Ponderosa cabin.

Check-in was easy and Gary, who was great to work with, had the air on for us thank goodness. Had a hard time getting email information to come up so he happily supplied wifi info for all of us. We used it as a reunion base Sat and then all went Holiday World Sun..It served its purpose and the kids, all in their twenties, enjoyed being able to hangout at the table together all at once to play board games but it does need upgrading. There were burns in couches, the countertop has come apart and stove is plugged into an extension cord on the counter. For this price there should maybe be some yard games, add some ceiling fans on porches, clean out closets so guests can use them, and update kitchen. The fourth room is a loft open to living room and one of the beds had a balancing issue. Didn't expect all the rv's around the cabin but it didn't affect us being able to use the yard and cookout for the reunion. I asked all those staying there what they would say so that it wouldn't be just my opinions and needs and everyone pretty agreed that all in all it's a nice place and that it just needs some attention and refreshing.

Spacious cabin but needs a little TLC

All in all this cabin was clean and as described and a great choice for our family weekend. The only complaints anyone had was the wifi was on the weaker side and spotty at best and the downstairs bed room could use a newer mattress and the full bed in the loft was leaning alot and not able to be slept in.

Our stay was nice. We were able to walk down to the lake and do some birding as well as enjoy the view. We were greeted by the owner shortly after arriving and he informed us of a faucet issue in the kitchen, which was managable to work with while he waited for the new faucet to arrive. Wifi was available however due to the location we had some issued with some of our cell phones having service. We were there from Sunday to Saturday so we pretty much had the site to ourselves until Thursday evening when one fisherman arrived. Then a few more showed up on Friday (no issues with this). The cabin could use some TLC to make it visually more pleasing and some more forks as it has 10 forks for a cabin that sleeps 15. If you are someone who likes to sit outside on the porch and take in the view this is not the cabin to do so.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Ponderosa cabin. It’s a log cabin so electric outlets are scarce. The cabin is off of the main road by about 9 miles of small twisting paved roads making nighttime driving a challenge. A really nice setting for a relaxing few days. Gary is very accommodating.

Great for big families with lots of kids!

We stayed for a few days, visited Holiday World and Patoka Lake Beach with extended family. The cabin was perfect for lots of little cousins to run around, have sleepovers and be loud together!

cute cabin

this cabin is not close to the lake unless you have a boat. Their is a very small store on the property. And the Hostess is very nice. Quite place to stay. It does need some updating as up in the loft area their are two lamps one does not work and it very dark up their. Their is mice and ants so I recommend not leaving anything out for them to get into. Also there is nothing provided cooking wise like spices or salt or anything like that. Need to bring everything you will need. We left our items in the bins we brought with Has nice screened in porch but very hot could use some fans. and could either need sofa covers or new sofa. So if you are not real picky it is a fun place to stay.
