We had a great stay at Granny's Place! The house was extremely clean and comfortable and had everything we needed! The outdoor space was nice for hanging out at the end of our riding day. Will definitely stay here again! The train does run by next to the house and is a bit loud but it didnât bother us.
Needed a place to stay while in town for work. The house was very clean, well equipped, comfortable and about an hour closer than hotels. Check in was super simple, didn't have any issues. I will say trains passing was much louder and more frequent than I imagined, but earplugs were provided and overall it was a nice stay.
The house was very nice inside. The neighboring houses are condemned. Getting a trailer in and out of the drive was a challenge as the drive is narrow and the train bridge obstructs view of the road. The property is located next to train tracks and trains entering the tunnel sound the horn at all hours. The trains are loud coal trains that run frequently. The house was clean and comfortable, if you can handle the train noise, the property is a fair price. They provide ear plugs to help with the noise.
Great place to stay in Welch. Everything was as described in description. Clean and check in was easy. Trailer parking is limited for longer trailers but fine for my 12 foot. Yes the train is loud but gives the place some built in entertainment.
Drive is not meant for trailers if you are here to ride. We should have parked on the other side of the road. We had to get creative when it was time to head home. Had to stack the ramps from the trailer to back out onto the road. Otherwise the back of the gooseneck trailer would wedge into the asphalt. Nice big flat area on the other side of the road if you park there. Plenty of room at the house though for the sxs once unloaded.
The house was great. We were just there overnight, traveling through. But would love to stay for a weekend of riding. The neighbors looked a little sketchy but once inside, felt very safe. Had no issues. Train took a little getting used too.
House is close to many trails which was our main point of the stay. However, the house is next to a very active, very loud train. Making sleeping a challenge.
The house is very nice and was perfect for our family stay. We stayed in the house for our trip to ride SXSâs on the Hatfield McCoy trails. The house had plenty of rooms and bathrooms for our family. The kitchen and living room were great areas too. The house was very clean. The pressure washer and outside seating areas are nice features of the house. The only downside to our stay was the train tracks, we got used to the trains after the first day.
My husband and i are from welch pineville area. We came home for a union of my niece and her husband. This was perfect for our needs. The bridal party got ready here. The space worked wonderfully. I can see this as a frequently used home for our out of state family for important gatherings. The memories made in WV are always sweeter!
This property provides excellent access to the Warrior and Pinnacle trails. Easy access to gas, groceries, and restaurants in Welch is also a positive. Trailer access to the property is difficult but there is plenty of parking once in. trains are often and loud but did not affect our sleeping as much quieter inside the house. There is not a hot tub on the property as stated but the grilling options are excellent. The kitchen table sits a crowded five. The neighborhood is a little rough but we talked with our neighbors and multiple residents in town with everyone being very nice. The price is so much cheaper than other comparable places that if/when we ride again, we will stay here again.
