Everything was pretty great upon arrival. Clean, pretty, and great set up. The dishwasher was broken and the bathroom looked rough though. The staff were very helpful with a mufflehead infestation once they reached back out to us. The number listed on the website and in the contract is actually not a 24/7 service. We had called different numbers and when we did get a call back, they did not claim our cabin as a part of their service. The doors were closed no later than 7 PM and we had an infestation of muffle heads that we had noticed by 11:30 PM. They did send people to vacuum up the bugs and to replace linens for us. They also gave us a partial refund and 26 person golf carts along with offering us different cabins, but unfortunately, the bride had wanted to stay altogether. Later, when I had talked to the owner, he had denied the cabin had any problems, accused us of lying in a roundabout way and even told me that we went out drinking till 1 AM and that’s why we waited so long to call, when we had game night actually and we’re in all night. Middle aged ladies. I was told that they are no leaks or holes in the cabin and something must’ve been left open but honestly there was nothing open. We had thousands of muffle heads on the ceilings, especially in the room with the two queen beds they were flying into our mouth and on our shirts, and in the morning there were tons dead everywhere, next night wasn’t nearly as bad. Thank you for your honest feedback, and we sincerely apologize again for the experience your group had with the mayflies during your stay. We completely understand how overwhelming and frustrating that situation was, especially during such an important weekend together. We truly appreciate your kind words about our staff and are glad the team was able to respond quickly once we became aware of the severity of the issue by helping clean up the bugs, replace linens, offer alternate accommodations, provide golf carts, and issue a refund of $675 plus tax in an effort to make things right. We also want to sincerely apologize if our conversation afterward came across the wrong way in any manner. It was never our intention to make you feel dismissed, doubted, or unheard. We were simply trying to understand how such a large number of mayflies entered the cabin so we could address and prevent it moving forward. We certainly never intended to imply that you or your group were being dishonest, and we are very sorry if it came across that way. In all honesty, we have never had a situation this severe happen before in this cabin, which is why we were so surprised by the amount of mayflies that entered overnight. Unfortunately, mayflies can occasionally become extremely heavy on the island during certain weather conditions near the lake, but we fully understand that does not make the situation any less upsetting or inconvenient for your group. Absolutely perfect vacation stay!

Golf carts were there upon arrival, house was very clean and spacious. Relaxing and quiet outdoor space, pool was great as well. We will be coming back and staying again next year!

There were a few issues such as a front storm door that would not shut and jets in the hot tub that blew out soot, but overall the house was nice and clean. I would definitely use this house again if the opportunity arises.

House was nice and big. Definitely easy to track dirt in with all the morning rain, could use a place to wipe/store shoes. Maintenance was quick and helpful. Love the van service $4pp/each way, texting the drivers was convenient. The jets in the tub didn't work, the fridge made a loud knocking sound every time it opened. I wish the beds had headboards, as the pillows would fall off.. but that's just a personal preference. The mattress, pillows and bed linens were very comfortable. My friend said the bunk bed was a little wobbly. Would 100% stay here again. Friendly staff, good price. The pool wasn't anything fancy but got the job done and was never too crowded.

Reviewer Comments: Our group has stayed at the Island Club for several years and we are noticing that the houses are starting to look run down and in need of repairs. This year we experienced one of the master bedroom sinks not draining, one of the remotes did not have a battery (so we couldn't watch tv), one of the kitchen cabinet doors would not close all of the way, a lamp in one of the bedrooms did not work, we were not given extra garbage bags and there was tape holding some of the molding on to the wall. We were somewhat disappointed and will most likely look for another place to stay in the future that is in better shape.

We arrived on Thursday 9/9/21 the condo was dirty, musty, and damaged. There are missing trim, damaged walls, cabinet doors that would not close, the carpets were stained. We ended up sweeping, vacuuming, and prepping for the rest of the guests. One of the closets had a very strong odor of stale urine, we just left the door closed. On multiple occasions people were playing games in the street, blocking traffic. Our total for 3 days was $1,787.25 or $593.75 per night, plus a (hopefully refunded) $255.00 deposit. We called to let maintenance know of the damage, so we were hopefully not charged for it. With our limited time on the island, we did not want to waste precious time waiting on a cleaning crew. I would strongly recommend staying away from this property.

Bert, We appreciate your feedback and certainly wish you would have called during your stay so we could have made things right. We have a full staff on the island that is available to assist if something is amiss. Our goal is to work hard so you can enjoy your vacation. We had a rough group staying in that property right before your stay and unfortunately we did not have the time to get a contractor to the island for repairs before the quick turnaround. Our housekeeping manager met with the team member responsible for cleaning your unit and performed some retraining. If we are lucky enough to earn your business in the future, our office staff would be happy to hand-select a house that would meet your standards.

This stay was different than before...

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at Island Club every summer since 2021 with our family as part of our family vacation. Our experience this summer was different than before. The cabin looked like it was recently updated which is a major plus (carpet is gross in the bedrooms and living rooms because of cleanliness). One thing that stood out when we got into our unit was the lack of fire alarms. I believe the crew that did the renovation probably forgot to hang them back up. I emailed the group and they had someone install them that day, so that was a relief. A few days after we got to our unit my children called us frantically telling us that there was a squirrel in the unit. I wasn't sure if I believed them at first, but when we got back, there was for sure a squirrel in our unit and it was trapped in the living area. My husband and brother opened both doors and eventually coaxed the squirrel out. After we got it out we discovered that the squirrel came in from the bathroom that was not attached to a bedroom. There was a hole in the ceiling next to the sky light. The squirrel made quite a mess in the bathroom in the bathtub. I contacted island club again and they came the next day to investigate the hole. They said there was nothing they could do to fix it because they needed to get up on the roof to try to plug the hole on both ends and that would take time to do. While I was satisfied with their response, no one cleaned up the mess the squirrel made. I hoped that the mess would be cleaned up so we could use the bathroom without fear of any kind of disease or illness caused by the squirrel being in the bathroom where most of the mess was. I would of cleaned it up but I had no access to any kind of sanitizer or cleanser of any kind due to being on vacation. Other than that our stay was good.
