Host very helpful, very timely with replies, pool was beautiful, warm, clean, although it closed for the season the day after we arrived, but mid-September is very late for a pool to close, so we were thrilled to have 1 day. House was just amazing, views are breathtaking. First VRBO experience and it was so easy. We had a wonderful visit. Property so centrally located, very easy to see all the wonders of Lake Erie shores and Islands!

Our Home Away from Home

This is the 4th time we've stayed at this beautiful property, and can't wait to go back next summer. My 4 grandchildren (7,9,11 & 13) had an incredible time, and my daughter & son-in-law loved their down time. Eclipse 2024

We had a great time visiting Lake Erie and Port Clinton for the eclipse! The house was clean, well stocked and exactly as described. We enjoyed being able to walk most places as everything was quite convenient. The house had a great layout which doesn't quite show in the pictures. The kids had a blast in the upstairs area with the twin beds, bathroom and a loft room with futon and TV. The adults stayed on the main floor and had our own living room. We hope to visit again when it's warmer!

July 2023

This was our third visit in three years and we expect to be back next year. The property is as described but better. Deck is literally”on”the water and terrific for coffee in the morning and happy hour. When it rains or the deck is too hot in late afternoon, the covered area on the garage level is terrific (where the grill is) and since you can access it through the garage, you can avoid the rain. There are beach chairs, floats, and some toys for kids. Water is very shallow and good for kids. Grandkids also loved the pool. If you like wildlife, you will like the Great Egret that flies by in the morning several times, the occasional Blue Heron, and the daily treks of geese. Great sunsets. Truly lovely and conveniently close to grocery stores and other essentials. The property is a short drive from restaurants, Catawba Island and the ferries to Put-in-Bay, Kelleys Island and other islands. While on the property it feels like you are way from everything although you are just off a Main Street. Great perch dinner at Docks (5 minute drive) and terrific food and local wine at Gideon Owens (10-12 minutes way). I was not expecting to like local wine but it is very good. Also close to Cedar Point - best amusement park ever. The host Colette is extremely responsive and really great to deal with.

A graduate of the Ohio State University; we raised our family in Upper Arlington, OH, but moved to Portland OR in 2015. Retired as a Sales Executive from the O.C. Tanner Co after 20 years selling employee recognition products. We have owned our lake house since 1993 and cherish the Lake Erie sunset viewed from our deck. We try to make our lakehouse feel like a home away from home with comfortable and quality furnishings.
