White Oak Canyon Cottage est un chalet confortable niché dans une belle vallée des Blue Ridge Mountains près de la rivière Robinson et Cedar Run. Il est situé à côté du parc national de Shenandoah et est littéralement à quelques pas du sentier de randonnée White Oak Canyon et du sentier inférieur Cedar Run. Ces sentiers offrent certains des meilleurs sentiers de randonnée en cascade du parc national de Shenandoah. White Oak Canyon Cottage est également situé à environ 0,8 mile du parking du sentier de randonnée Old Rag Mountain.

Cette région regorge de nature et d'animaux sauvages, notamment le cerf de Virginie, l'ours noir, l'écureuil gris, la truite de montagne et de nombreux oiseaux. Le White Oak Canyon Cottage est parfait pour une retraite en famille avec la nature, une escapade romantique au calme ou un week-end de randonnée dans le parc national de Shenandoah.

Nous sommes situés juste à côté de la Route 231 de Virginie, l'une des dix routes panoramiques les plus remarquables d'Amérique, idéale pour faire du vélo. Profitez de la randonnée, de la faune, de la pêche à la truite dans un étang approvisionné à proximité, des vignobles, des antiquaires, des cavernes de Luray, de Monticello - la maison de Thomas Jefferson, de Montpelier - de la maison de James Madison, ou tout simplement vous asseoir et vous détendre et profiter du paysage.

This mountain home was perfect for a weekend away with a friend. It had all of the amenities that we needed. The setting is beautiful, a nice getaway from the city. The host Bill was very communicative and accommodating. We would definitely return.

We had a very nice stay at the cabin! Very cozy and furnished with everything you need. We walked right down the road to the White oak Canyon Trail and drove only about 25 minutes to hike Old Rag. Everything was fairly clean aside from many ladybugs (we probably saw 50-80 during our stay) throughout the home especially in the living room. The fire pit was very nice and wifi worked well! Bill was responsive to my messages and very helpful with information about the cabin and area. Overall a good trip and would recommend!

Can’t Beat The Location

Immediately adjacent to multiple trailheads; this quaint property is the best. The property manager was great to communicate with - tips ahead of time, all of the info we needed to have an easy arrival and check-in, and the property had lots of little touches (local hiking maps and info; restaurant recommendations, and appropriate kitchen/cooking items) to make our stay great. Would absolutely stay here again.

Perfect location for hiking White Oak and Old Rag, and explore Shenandoah Skyline Drive. Comfy accomodations,clean linen, bath and kitchen, but few too many bugs and spider webs inside and outside. Has good Wi-Fi access needed in the valley location. Bathroom window crank broken and had to be pushed shut from outside.

Excellent hiking base

We loved staying here as the perfect base for our Old Rag hike as well as White Oak Canyon (which is SO close!). Surrounded by woods, we heard so many birds and saw lots of stars in the evening. It was just what we needed.

A great place

The perfect place to stay if you are interested in hiking the mountain trails. Literally a hop skip and jump to the trails. Such a beautiful area to stay in. The place is well maintained, clean and has everything you need. Comfortable and convenient. I will be booking this place to stay many many more times!!

Perfect little getaway

My partner and I stayed here for two nights as we visited Shenandoah National Park. The cottage is in a great location and has a great deli up the road ten minutes. We loved our quick drives to Sperryville, the park, and hikes such as Old Rag. We really loved this cottage and how remote it was-playing cornhole in the yard, sitting out near the fire, etc. We will remember this darling cottage forever and hope to return some day!!

The property was perfect for my four year old son and my stay. We were able to easily walk to the white oak canyon trailhead which was our goal. The house had everything we needed for our stay. Nothing fancy, just country living. We went out to eat at Graves mountain lodge as well as the Bavarian Chef, and recommend both of them.

Park visit

We loved our stay here! We walked to White Oak Canyon, that was by far my favorite hike. Super easy check in, everything was as described. Plenty of towels, sheets, pillows. We had to use the heat and it worked great. Beautiful property. We would stay here again.

Basic amenities close to trail

We came to a music festival and to hike and were not planning to be inside much so Bills place fit the “bill”. It had the very basics of what we needed and we appreciated the exceptionally beautiful surrounding and it’s close proximity to the trails. The biggest negative was the very uncomfortable sofa which made it hard to watch a movie in the evening since it’s the only place to sit. That’s an easy fix and we would stay there again if the sofa was replaced. Thank you for letting us check in early Bill!
