Quiet Grand Mere Coach House on Lake Michigan

About this space
The Coach House is in an eclectic neighborhood on Lake Michigan. Grand Mere State Park is a year around beautiful place for hiking by small lakes and through beautiful sand dunes. A small beach is a 2 minute walk away. The family room and kitchen face Lake Michigan with lots of windows. The house has a queen bedroom, queen pullout in family room, and laundry. A gas FIRE PIT and a HOT TUB are located on the back patio directly on Lake Michigan with a spectacular view behind the main house.
The space
The coach house is on the Lake with a view of Lake Michigan. It has a full kitchen a living room with a queen pullout and a queen bedroom and bath. Grand Mere State Park is very close containing 985 acres of dunes, trails and several thousand feet of beach. Hiking, cross country skiing, and fishing are available in the park. Two small beaches are a 5 minute walk nearby along with 12 minutes away more than a mile of beach to walk in Grand Mere State Park.
Guest access
You will have access to the entire house including the bedrooms. The laundry room is also available to you. The hot tub and the fire pit are behind the main house and are shared with the main house. The fire pit is not available in the snow.
Other things to note
Stay away from the edge of the bluff in the winter because if it is icy it could be very very dangerous if you slip.

The gas fire pit is available to guests; however, I ask you to be respectful in how much gas that you use.

Beach chairs, etc. are available to carry to the beach at Grand Mere State Park.

A charcoal grill is provided.

A 4 person table is provided so that you can eat out on the deck.

I love children! However, they are very active and are to be included as people on my listing!

Please DO NOT go into Lake Michigan from my rocks. The rocks are slippery and it is very dangerous.

This was a lovely location right on Lake Michigan, but no beach, just the view. The accommodations were very clean and comfortable. A more comfortable mattress would enhance the experience!

This is a great peaceful get away for adults. We loved sitting and listening to the birds while watching the beautiful lake. The sunset was right in front of the place. Our bed and couch were very comfy and the host is very responsive. Lots of great food nearby too. We look forward to staying again soon.

My daughters and I enjoyed our stay in this cozy house. This has a stunning view of Lake Michigan, is quiet and the owner graciously shares main house area with fire table and hot tub feet away from Lake Michigan.It has an amazing view of the sunset and is in walking distance to Grand Mere Park with public beach. It was fun to hike and explore. Stunning location!

We love that the property was amongst gravel, roads and trees. Yet we had sight of Lake Michigan. Was surprised there was no private beach to get to, but it was beautiful seeing the water on the large rocks, a little confusing, knowing which house and the address that we figured it out :-) I would definitely recommend it! We had a wonderful time!

Great location

This is a coach house behind the main house. The host allows guests to use the patio attached to the main house, which is wonderful because it oversees Lake Michigan. As I was enjoying a glass one wine on my first evening there, a herron landed in the tree right next to my chair. I loved hiking in Gran Mere Park, which is a mere 5 minute walk from the house. In the park, you can hike in the woods, or out over the dunes and onto the shore. Lovely!

New to VRBO, but NOT new to hosting!

We decided to try this new VRBO listing and I'm sure glad that we did. The host has been on other sites for years and knows what he's doing (reviews there are stellar). The coach house was extremely clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. The neighborhood is very quiet and relaxing. The patio and firepit made for excellent evenings outside, viewing the lake and listening to the waves break over the rocks below. The sunsets were spectacular! Two small beaches within easy walking distance and several others within a short drive. Breweries and wineries galore! We met John during our stay and had several pleasant conversations. Don't miss this property...it's a great one!!
