Welcome to Dune Swell! THIS is island living, just steps from the ocean! Relax at the heart of the island. Buxton is centrally located between all of the best spots to kiteboard, wind surf, fish, beach access, surf, paddleboard, walk, hike, and bike.

Convenient, family sized living all on 1 floor, literally a 60 second walk to Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Prefer kite sailing? We are less than a 2 minute drive to Canadian Hole. How about Surfing? We are walking distance. Fishing? We are minutes from some of the World’s most amazing fishing at the Point.

Our cottage is only a minute’s walk to Buxton's iconic Beach District where you will find several excellent restaurants, Hatteras Lighthouse & National Park, fishing & tackle shops, eclectic local shops, convenience stores, ice cream & mini-golf.

The area is safe, quiet, and is excellent for those looking for a retreat, with the fun and adventure Cape Hatteras offers only steps away!
Relax, we’ve prepared our cottage with all the essentials you’ll need. Well behaved domesticated pets are always welcome. We provide all linens and towels for a worry free stay.

THE SPACE
Dune Swell is a large 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom cottage on the 1st floor with an enclosed screened front deck. It’s perfect for a family of 5 looking to enjoy Hatteras without breaking the bank!

Perfect for a weekend away

Super clean, comfortable, and well-maintained property. It was perfect for my teen boys and me for a quick weekend trip.

We were supposed to stay at this place but 2 hurricanes came thru and changed our plans for us. We were not able to stay. The host was on top of everything and refunded our money immediately and offered a discount for if we ever want to stay there again.

The house was nice and had everything we needed. While it showed some use, and we needed to purchase trash baags and some other things, it was a good deal and a great location. We had perfect weather until the last copld of days when the beach disappeared because of the approaching front.

Spring Break

Property was very clean and just as described in listing. Kitchen was well stocked with cookware and utensils for preparing meals. The only issue we had at all was finding several nails in the parking area and yard from what appears to be some recent renovations.

We loved this property! Don't get me wrong--it's basic, but it does the job. Family of five stayed comfortably for a week and really enjoyed it. There's only one indoor shower, but the outdoor shower works well. The kitchen is stocked well enough though definitely check to make sure they have the pans you need before shopping. If you're looking for comfortable, quiet, functional and super close to the beach this is perfect. It's a nice location--walking distance to a few restaurants, and a quick drive to many others. VERY short walk to a fantastic beach. It never got very crowded and there are several protected areas nearby. Great price for a great location!

Amazing property on a quiet dead end street. LOVED the new webber charcoal grill. Made great memories and will always have a great story to tell. Host was amazing and a huge help when i left a bag back at the home. Super helpful super clean. Will keep an eye out for the same place next year.
