Great property getaway for a family or two to share on the beautiful Big Chippewa Lake, which is 1186 acres, with max 95ft deep. The lake is a very clean spring-fed lake that is excellent for fishing. The lake is perfect for family swimming. There is a dock, feel free to bring your own boat. Pontoon rental is available on the lake.

The space:
This is a cozy cabin, 1600 square feet, built in the 80’s. Sleeps up to 8 people. Main level has 2 bedrooms with 1 Queen bed in the main bedroom and other has full bed and has a full bath. The main level offers a formal living room with comfortable furniture, an open concept kitchen, and dining. Enjoy the convenience of Wi-Fi, TV, Blu ray DVD payers, games, AC/Heat unit in the main unit.
The lower level has a family room where there is a TV, 1 Queen futon, 1 twin futon and a bedroom with a full bed. There is a back room where there is twin bed and a full futon and also contains a mini fridge with a little table. There is also a washer and dryer for your use. We have Reverse Osmosis for drinking water.

The Outdoor space:
There is a large patio with a table and umbrella for 6. There is also picnic table and umbrella. There is a propane grill and charcoal grill, and several yard games.

Safety note: There is a rock ledge, approximately 3ft angled drop down to the lake.
Guests will have access to the entire property, which includes the driveway, cabin, patio, backyard, and bonfire.
If you enjoy swimming, fishing, and boating, listening to loons and watching sunsets, enjoying campfires and s'mores, or getting away to relax - then this Big Chip Lake Home is right for you.

To make your stay even better:
Please bring your own firewood/fire starters if you intend to do a fire.
Please bring your own charcoal for use of charcoal grill (grill and lighter provided), There is also a propane grill to use.

Wonderful lake home! The house had everything we needed and more. Kids really enjoyed the beach and fishing off the dock. Great location, nice quiet street. Property manger was very helpful during our stay. Would recommend and stay again. Nick.

Cozy, up north cabin with lots of room. Kitchen stocked with everything needed, including spices. Beautiful lake for fishing, kayaking, bird watching. Bike trail nearby. I'd love to come back!

Relaxing Summer Trip

Even though the weather was a bit temperamental, we still had a very relaxing stay on Big Chip! The cabin is smaller but very comfortable and had absolutely everything we needed for cooking or staying entertained - inside or out! The lake is crystal clear with a sandy bottom, perfect for swimming off the dock or just floating around to stay cool.Property Manager Deize was an absolute delight to work with. All around great stay!

Awesome sandy- kid friendly shallow beach. 2 year old grandson absolutely loved the sandbox at the beach! Nice and spacious kitchen- living room area! One thing- would be nice to have more than one bathroom but we made it work! The whole family truly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere backyard and lake! We are already talking about going back next summer!

nice cabin on a great lake

Very nice cabin, well stocked. Had everything that we needed for our stay. Clean and comfortable. The patio and backyard were nice for afternoon relaxing. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The only thing I would suggest is to install a well water treatment system. The water has a very strong odor which can be typical of well water if not treated.

Nice lake and nice cabin

What a great Lake. Property managers were kind. Cabin is clean and nicely laid out. Plenty of water floaties to borrow including a pump for them. We didn’t use the lower deck area much but it was really nice. There are chairs attached to the deck which were also nice to sit in. The water IN the cabin is more intense smelling than other lake cabins we’ve stayed in, but we had a lovely time!

Big Chip Lake House

Everything related to our stay in the lake house was excellent as you can see from our ratings above. VRBO made the sign up process easy. Our host / property manager was an excellent communicator from the beginning and throughout the whole process. Both the owner’s and our host did everything possible to make us feel at home while staying there. They have everything you need so we will pack half as much next year. There is plenty of room inside and everything is very clean. We had a great lake view, excellent swimming and floating area, plenty of comfortable chairs, fire pit and a nice grill. Yes, we will definitely be back next year.

Would not hesitate to go back!

After renting the same place for many years each summer until it sold, we have had a hard time finding a place we wanted to go back to. This is a home we hope to return to next year. We enjoyed our stay here very much! The kids loved the swimming area and the sandbox. We caught lots of fish off the dock. The manager was wonderful to work with, also. The only negative comment I have is the water in the house had an unpleasant smell. I’m not sure if anything can be done for that or not. It wouldn’t prevent us from going back, though.
