A perfect vacation spot!
We did not know what to expect when we booked a visit to Isle Escape with our kids and grandkids. The house looked beautiful online, and we were a bit worried about how the grandkids would like the remote location. We LOVED it! The travel to the island does require planning, but very simple and a quick ferry. The house is in an amazing location. Unobstructed views of the Gulf and Sound. A quick walk to visit the manatee canal and Dolphin Beach. Being located right on the airstip magnificent - we saw planes landing and taking off, and even a few helicopters come in during our stay. The house is lovely - decorated well without too many things for the little ones to get into. The bed set up perfect for us as my husband and I could take the top floor bedroom and leave all the kids to the first floor which had bunks and guest rooms. The laundry came in handy during the week for sure. There were chairs for the beach and pool toys for fun as well as games and plenty of space for gathering, dining and watching movies. Plenty of food storage as there are two full refrigerators. The kitchen basics were provided. Definitely do the pre-ordered groceries and plan a little extra. You can fill in during the week, which is easy but takes 24 hours to arrive. There is a very small gift shop on the island with some groceries, but really does not carry much so don't rely on that even for fill in's. The management company left the golf carts at the Mainstay dock for us which was very easy. If you are using Island Girl Ferry - the boat is ok. A much better transit is The Island Club ferry which we used on return. The property recommends Island Girl, but really either are fine to use.
We loved the beautiful sunrises and sunsets both visible from the top deck. Comfortable beds and spacious accommodations. We would absolutely recommend this beautiful, convenient property to anyone traveling to North Captiva.
