Renovated 100+ year old Benton Ave. Bungalow

Built in 1907, this Historic District house has been completely gutted, remodeled and updated with a mid-century modern style. It's a short walk to historic Commercial Street, where you'll discover local restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, tea rooms and shops. It's also a quick walk or drive to Kearney street, including restaurants, fast food, grocery stores and gas stations. Private parking and security system are also included.
Cox hospital is less than 5 min. away.
The space
Cozy styish bungalow in the Moon City Arts District that's perfect for the business traveler or a couples' weekend getaway. Furnished in mid-century style, the living room features a comfortable full size fold out bed. A new 42-inch 4K HDTV is accessable to Local and cable channels (on D- TV) and Netflix. Full sized kitchen with dining table and four chairs for easy breakfast and dinners in. Complimentary coffee, tea and snacks are also available. The bedroom has a queen sized bed has a new memory foam mattress, with walk- in closet, TV with Roku and bureau for storage. Extra "sun room" is at back of house with desk for a work space and an antique wicker rocker makes the perfect place to read and relax.

The kitchen has all new appliances and includes all the cooking utensils you need for preparing your own meals. Silverware, dishes and glasses are also included.

Dogs are allowed. Please let me know when you book if you are bringing a dog. There is a $25 pet fee.

Entire house, back yard and front yard and porch are all available.
Other things to note
Hosts are happy to provide info on local sights to see, nearly local restaurants and events. This is a 114 year old house and we are doing some remodeling projects inside and out- and are making improvements daily. We have the guest space cleaned professionally after each guest. . Please let us know if there are any issues and we will take care of it immediately! You can call anytime if you need anything- and we will take care of it as soon as possible!

    Quaint little updated 100-year-old home. Was very comfortable after a long day of sightseeing on the Mother Road and surrounding area. The host was responsive and check in was stress free. Would stay her again.

    This little house was incredible! I want to thank our hosts for providing a stellar experience. My wife and I were in Springfield for a Samantha Fish show and the location was perfect for driving to the Guillioz theater. The bed was quite comfortable and the ambiance was amazing!     We got in late. Started to unpack. Bathroom vanity was filthy, took me over one hour to clean inside outside of bathroom vanity, thankfully host had provided Clorox wipes. Dishwasher leaked had to clean floor every time. Bathroom is not up to code, tub sinks in towards middle of tub. If you have any problems with balance do not take a shower in this bathroom. Thankfully we were visiting family and could use their showers. there are no grab bars, if you have balance issues or you are older DO NOT RENT THIS PROPERTY. Also steps in front of bungalow do not have railings to hold onto, so older people look elsewhere or people with balance issues.Rooms were large, bed was comfortable.

    Rex- we appreciate your honest review. I sincerely apologize for any areas that weren’t up to snuff. The house is over a century old - so the cast iron tub is original and yes doesn’t have grab bars or railings up the front 2 steps. There is a textured bath mat available in the bathroom to put in the shower to make the tub safer. Again I apologize you didn’t have the best experience. We pride ourselves on being super hosts and having our place professionally cleaned after every stay. I hope you have a nice holiday weekend. Valorie and Jeff
