Nature’s beauty abounds in Chautauqua! – Many guests enjoy an evening meal on the patio while watching the superb sunsets over the lake. The Italian style gardens and roses encircle the property to add much beauty to the experience. Only a few minutes away, guests have access to urban amenities and world class art, culture and history at Chautauqua Institution.

Daily sightings of the Chautauqua Belle Steam boat tour can be seen from your apartment window, along with sailing regattas from the local Yacht Club – white sails, scattered on the blue waters, throughout the summer months.

Lovely Stay

We had a lovely time at the Chateau! The property comfortably fit me, my toddler, and my father and it was the perfect location to explore the lake for the weekend. Everything was clean and owner very friendly and communicative. The view is amazing - we enjoyed all our meals out on the terrace because it was so lovely. Overall great stay

Beautiful Spot

House was beautiful and very clean. Lots of places to sit outside and view the lake. Very quiet and relaxing. Interesting landscaping. It was a little difficult to get larger items into the house because of the narrow entry door. The beds were comfortable. The coffee maker does both drip and k-cups.

The Chateau at Lookout was lovely, with interesting dĂ©cor and a nice view. We spent much of our time relaxing in the Adirondack chairs out on the partially shaded lawn overlooking the lake. The kitchen is clean, functional, and well-equipped, although there is no oven (which we didn’t need). But there was a nice large toaster oven that a medium sized cast iron skillet can fit inside. That worked well. The tap is well water and tastes good. One bedroom has plenty of storage, the other not so much. The queen mattress was comfortable; our companions reported the full-size less so. There is also a queen-sized pullout bed in the living room that was comfortable and worked for them. The bathroom was very clean, and the shower had good water pressure. Could maybe use hooks in the bedrooms for towels. Caroline, the owner, was very warm and welcoming. We come to Chautauqua every year, and we would gladly return to the Chateau.

Stunning property!

This property has amazing views of the lake. The outside areas are wonderful for lounging to just look at the lake, or to have a meal, or to work outside (if you must). The inside is fabulous, too. It's not super loungy/comfy- but it's wonderful for two or three people to hang out for a bit. The kitchen is sufficient- we had a few challenges (very little cookware, no dishrack, microwave "stuck" on a command, head kept hitting the chandelier over the table), but definitely fine if you're not planning to cook too much. The bathroom is great- the well water does not smell like the well water I've experienced in the area before (which can be quite stinky). The multiple doors and windows make it lovely for shutting off the a/c and experiencing the lovely breeze. The doors are a bit finicky- you have to lift the handle to lock them. It's a lovely neighborhood to walk through as well. Overall, this is a dream property to spend a week. I highly recommend and I want to visit again!
