2026 Rentals Now Open!

Rentals are by the week starting and ending on Saturdays with the exception of Saturday, June 20th - Friday June 26th.

Welcome Mosswood Cottage located on Main Street in Downtown Leland.

The home was recently renovated with a full chef's kitchen, all new furnishings, linens, refinished hardwood floors and plenty of cozy comforts to complete your Northern Michigan vacation!

This is the perfect spot for your next family vacation in the amazing Leland, Michigan. Mosswood is located just steps from Lake Michigan access via Van's Beach and Thompson Beach and only 3 blocks from the heart of Fishtown and all its restaurants, galleries and shops. The large fenced yard and deck accessed off the dining room is a great spot to gather with your loved ones and spend a quiet afternoon/evening creating memories that will last a life time. When the sun sets, fire up the firepit to roast mallows and take in all that Up North has to offer!

Enjoy the mornings taking coffee/tea on the front porch while the town wakes up or on the quite side yard deck off the dining room. On cooler mornings enjoy the breakfast bar with seating for 4. In the afternoon/evening take advantage of the new kitchen and bring the family together over a meal in the attached dining room with seating for 6 and direct access to the outdoors. There is a beautiful and comfy sunroom that's great for games and a movie night in the back of the house and a quite family room perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine and a good book in the front.

Bedrooms include a queen size bedroom on the main floor with a semi-attached full bath. Head upstairs to find the king size primary suite complete with walk-in closet and new bathroom, a kids dream bunk room, and an additional king size bedroom. The upstairs is rounded out with an additional full bath and quite reading area off the bedrooms.

This property was lovely, relaxing and well appointed. The kitchenhad everything we could possibly need. There were several comfortable seating areas to relax. Each bedroom has a bathroom which is important for couples traveling together. It was just a couple blocks to walk to town.We would stay again

The Mosswood cottage was a beautiful and comfortable place to stay. It has lots of relaxing rooms, great kitchen to cook in, lovely bedrooms with great beds, linens, and towels. The kitchen was not only beautiful but well stocked. The outdoor areas were nice including a fire pit, and large table and grilling deck that were not pictured. We also enjoyed the screened front porch that felt very private. Thank you Katie and Eric for sharing your lovely updated and well designed home!

Stunning house with all the modern conveniences in a quaint and charming town. Walking distance to Vans and Reynold's Beaches, Fishtown, restaurants, and shopping. There's a great breakfast and lunch place right across the street. We loved our stay! The owner was helpful and attentive to messages. VRBO had some issues delivering message through the app, but that definitely wasn't Eric's fault. Would definitely book this house again.

This cute, cozy cottage is so well appointed and stunning! We felt right at home and would highly recommend staying here! It’s within walking distance of Fishtown and many delicious restaurants!! We dined at The Cove and it was delicious!!

Lovely home with multiple areas for gathering, eating, playing games, having morning coffee outside, sitting by fire ring in the evening, etc.Great kitchen! Immaculate. Spacious. Fantastic location 5-minute walk to Leland’s hub of shops and restaurants and right across the street from Trish’s Cafe for breakfast, lunch, or takeout dinner entree. Lovely home, town, and lake beach that’s also just a 5- minute walk. Perfect!

Great stay!

We had a wonderful stay at 402 S Main Street. The house and yard are spectacular. Location is perfect for all the beaches. Only downside was the clothing/towel stains from the well water. Most of the towels had stains, and a few of our clothes, unfortunately, were stained as well. Aside from that, we could not be happier with all aspects of our stay. Thank you!

Amazing house for family vacation

This beautifully renovated home was the perfect spot for our three young children and my mother to join us for our fall break trip. We come up to Traverse City every year, but had never stayed north in Leland and we are so glad we did. It is the perfect location, within walking distance to everything in town and the beach. House was gorgeous and had so many amenities and things for children to do. The fenced in backyard is a Wonderland! The host was easily accessible for a few questions I had and very accommodating. We would definitely recommend this house and stay again in the future.

Perfect Family Retreat!

We could not have asked for a more perfect home for our family vacation! Well maintained, exceptionally clean and just as gorgeous in person, this property exceeded all of our expectations! The hosts have thought of everything: a well-stocked kitchen, family-friendly games, beach towels, fire-pit, gas grill, ample and comfortable seating, screened in front porch. We had everything we needed to relax and enjoy our time together! Located close to everything, our teens loved walking to town to get ice cream and the adults appreciated the proximity to the cute shops and the grocery store. We all agreed that being able to walk a few blocks to the beach was amazing as we swam during the day and went back for sunsets each night! The hosts were excellent communicators and are clearly dedicated to ensuring that their guests can live their best vacation lives while staying at The Mosswood Cottage! We are already dreaming about returning next summer!
