Cozy Cabin in the Heart of Pristine Wilderness

Our private cozy cabin is a nature enthusiast dream come true! Set deep in the valley bordering the San Juan National Forest, our secluded cabin is 17 miles outside of the quaint town of Pagosa Springs (about a 25-minute drive) and located in a river valley surrounded by beautiful Ponderosa Pines. The cabin sits on the 211+ acre Singing Pines Ranch, off Plumtaw Road with the Upper Piedra River running through the property. Beautifully furnished with a queen bed in each bedroom, a large wooden dining table, comfy sofa, a working fireplace and a spacious front porch with breathtaking views! The cabin has DSL, a charcoal grill, stainless steel fridge, dishwasher, gas stove, microwave, washer/dryer, and heating forced air. The kitchen is stocked with the basic amenities such as salt/pepper, and olive oil. There is no TV or air-conditioning. If you truly want seclusion and nature this is it!!! You will have the entire property to yourself, with old historic cabins and an old barn to explore. There are many nearby trails to hike, fishing in the Piedra river (walking distance from our property or a short drive away). With all this being said, this remote location does come with some inconveniences. This cabin is in the wilderness. While we work hard to manage mountain critters, you can expect to see the occasional mouse or insects in the cabin. As the saying goes, there is no stopping Mother Nature.

Paradise in the Pines

I wish I could post a picture of where this cabin is located. It is utterly beautiful and peaceful. Super clean and well-appointed. NO MICE or other varmints. Deer appeared every evening. Dark sky perfect for viewing celestial events. The beds were AWESOME! It couldn't have been a better stay.

Peaceful Piedra

We chose this property due to the close proximity to a wedding in the area. The property was beautiful, as were the views. House had everything we needed and we were pleasantly surprised by amenities with being quite remote.

Perfect getaway

My husband and I wanted a secluded cabin in the mountains to bring our pups and just recharge from every day life/work.. this was the perfect place. Such a cozy cottage to enjoy life without the hustle and bustle of the world. Our pups loved the property to explore with old barns and creeks to listen to from the porch while enjoying your morning coffee or evening beverages. We will definitely be back for another stay asap

What we were hoping

Directions were excellent, so much so we had no problem finding it after dark. The house is warm, inviting, and has everything needed to make any length stay a very comfortable one. Hiking the ranch, exploring the surrounding Forest Service roads, sitting in front of a roaring fire on a cold morning 
 it was all we hoped and more. Near enough (30 minute drive) to the Springs to enjoy an occasional dinner or lunch or should you choose, grill at the house and never leave! Loved the wildlife and photo opportunities in the area. Kerry (sp?) dropped by and introduced himself and was he ever a wealth of information!! If you love remote and quiet as we do, this vacay rental is perfect.

Get away from it all

Gorgeous property and drive to it. No TV, cell service (there is a landline, remember those?) and slow wifi, so there’s nothing to do but enjoy the view, talk, go hiking, read a book. We saw a bobcat (twice), some deer, squirrels and chipmunks, hummingbirds. Some cabins are dark and dreary. But this one has lots of light. Small but very functional for a couple or small family. It’s half an hour to town so bring everything you need.

Privileged Time

Thoroughly enjoyed our vacation here. Beautiful and private, all the comforts of home yet truly in the wilderness. We shared the cabin with a few small woodland creatures and the internet was slow but capable of managing emails. Would definitely recommend and hope to return again.

If you really want off the grid in the mountains

This was absolutely perfect for us. Be aware: If you run out of milk, it's a 30 min drive to town on a gravel road and absolutely no street lights! If you're looking for a place in the mountains/woods that's comfortable, well-stocked and charming, this is it.

Perfect mountain getaway

This is the 2nd time we’ve stayed at this house, and although I’ve reviewed it once before, it’s worthy of another rave review! The drive up to the property from town is beautiful, and once you arrive, you truly feel like you’re on your own private mountain. The house itself has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Our favorite thing to do was sit on the front porch and watch the dozens of hummingbirds fly by. Our stay was over the July 4th weekend, and going into town for the fireworks show was worth it. Way bigger than we expected! We stayed for 6 nights with our kids and no one ever got bored. We’d absolutely stay here again!
