This home is conveniently 7 minutes to downtown Cedar Rapids
 5 minutes to Lindale Mall ..3 Minutes from Marion. Tucked in a wooded semi-private acreage the home features 3 Bedrooms upstairs with a Master Bedroom with its own bathroom , plenty of closet space and walk out of 2 patio doors onto the balcony.

A combo washer and dryer unit has been installed as well next to the bathroom in the hall between the other two bedrooms .The living room features Vaulted Ceilings with plenty of natural light and a walk out deck where you may see Deer , Turkey and other types of wild life. The downstairs has a Queen Bed as well as its own fireplace laundry area and full kitchen with walkout basement. Conveniently located and plenty of room for a couple families to live in comfortably without being on top of one another. The upstairs kitchen has a movable island as well as granite countertops next to the dining area.

We had 8 adults and 5 children in our group for 3 nights here for a memorable Hawkeye football family weekend. It's older, eclectic and minimalist (kind of a frat house vibe) and could definitely use some TLC. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the driveway is quite steep so we were glad it wasn't icy. We did have a plumbing problem, but Elias was responsive and got a plumber on site the same day (which we VERY much appreciated). We had lots of room for all of us, and we even had plenty of hot water! The two best features were all of the deer and wild turkeys we saw in the woods around the home every day, and the big great room with a nice large TV. We didn't use the inflatable hot tub in the furnace room. A few suggestions that would really improve guest experiences would be to replace the carpets, provide more towels (specifically, nicer towels that are not dollar store quality), clean the windows, and repair non-functioning outlets.

Trip with friends

The house was spacious and in quiet neighborhoods but needs major cleaning. Stains on carpet. All bedding are dirty with hair possibly form previous renters. Wet towels/bedding in the washer and more towels and bedding in the dryer. Laundy area downstairs was filthy. Coffee maker not working. Outside of the house unkept. Not worth how much we paid for it.

Unsafe

Communications were not great; repeatedly asked how to check in, then found the house open. House was not well kept and most importantly there were many safety items. There was no rail on the front porch (which is pretty high in the air) no rail on the inside stair case, no marking tape on the stair in the garage. The driveway is very, very steep. There is no parking in the driveway. The only parking is as shown right in front of the house, so for large groups, this is very tight.

DIRTY

This is a beautiful home, BUT it was very dirty.Bedrooms- Only two of the four beds had bedding, and it was very obviously slept in. We found additional bedding crumpled up in closets, but it appeared used.The primary bedroom had ants crawling around near the bed.Bathrooms- The upstairs and main floor bathrooms were NOT cleaned. The toilets were dirty, there was hair in the showers, a sink was clogged and full of suspicious water, there were no towels, and there were no blinds on the upstairs bathroom windows.Garbage- There were full bags of garbage in the kitchen, bedroom, and garage. It appeared someone messy had stayed here and nobody had been in to clean it up.Floors- Random sunflower seeds, dead bugs, hair, etc. on the floor all around the house. Nail sticking out of staircase leading to basement.The host did not give any sort of information on checking in or checking out until I reached out, but was very speedy in responding. When we arrived, there were several external doors and windows hanging open while the heat was also turned up very high. Based off of the garbage and state of the bedrooms and bathrooms, we felt that the space was not cleaned in between our stay and the stay before us.Trash-

Excellent space

The space was great as we needed room to gather after my mom's memorial service. The bedrooms met our needs - we only slept in them. We appreciated having the double oven to heat/bake food for a gathering. The 2-car garage was great making packing the car nicer in the very cold weather.Grocery stores were nearby. The location was great for the memorial service and graveside ceremony. Folks joining us after the services had no trouble finding us.The only negative items were the very steep driveway and stairs. We could have selected a different location but found this home had the best space for a medium sized gathering and we could cope with the stairs for a few days. The steep driveway was fine once we got used to it!Though numerous small issues arose the host was quick to respond and provided contact for a maintenance person to fix urgent issues.Depending on our needs we would consider this location for a future stay in the Cedar Rapids/Marion area of Iowa.

Football trip

Good spot for a guys' trip to a football game. Not far from lots of dining options. Directions weren't impeccable, but we got there. Didn't feel like a lot of care was put into having the place look really nice. Not much in the kitchen. Small towels. For four guys, it was suitable. Had our wives been along, they'd have rated lower. Great TV and den area. Great deck, but didn't take advantage.

Beautiful, spacious home!

We had a lovely stay at this home. There was ample room for our family, and Elias was very helpful. I would definitely stay again if I returned to Cedar Rapids! A 5 out of 5 stars!

Big comfy house for Iowa City visit

Elias was easy to work with and quick to respond to any questions we may have had. The house was excellent everything was in order. And we have no complaints would stay again at this house absolutely.
