Superbes vues depuis une confortable maison de deux chambres qui peut accueillir 7 personnes. Jetée privée éclairée juste au-dessus du Caney Creek "Y" avec une excellente pêche. Moins de 1 minute à Intracoastal Waterway, et 5 minutes à East Matagorda Bay en bateau. Profitez de voir la plupart des oiseaux d'eau du Texas à partir de votre propre terrasse. C'est un favori des familles de pêcheurs revenant encore et encore. La chambre principale a un lit queen, la 2ème chambre a une couchette pyramidale et un lit queen size. 3rd Stay at the Fishing House

It's become our "Go To Spot" in Sargent. Love the house & its location. Kate has always been pleasant & helpful from the 1st day to the last day.

I have stayed at the Fishing House several times and have never been disappointed. The house is always clean and the bathrooms have plenty of towels. The TV has Roku on it. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a grill downstairs to use. There is also a washer and dryer. The light switches in the house are labeled, so it helps with turning on outside lights.This house is at the "Caney Y" so the fishing is awesome from the pier. I caught several fish such as Redfish and Speckle Trout. The pier has a well lit walkway with a fishing light at the end. There is even a crab net to use. No boat is needed, if you came to fish. You can get live bait down the road by the Intracoastal waterway.Sargent is a fishing community, so buy your groceries in Bay City before you go to Sargent, but there is a Dollar General and a Liquor Barn not far from the house. I have used Kate Allen, the host for years now and she always make sure you have a wonderful vacation. I definitely will be back.

We had a great stay at the Fishing House. House was very clean and well stocked. The fishing started slow but ended up doing pretty good. I would definitely stay again.

Fishin' House

Wonderful property, good fishing from the dock. Lots of wind during our stay, but that's not the house's fault. One improvement I would like to see is an extension of the walkway to the pier so you don't have to wade through the water at high tide.

The Host was very nice and accommodating. New steps going up to the house and new walkway out to the fishing pier. The pier had great lighting and a plug for your filet knife. The fishing is always amazing from this pier. We caught specs mixed in with a lot of large sand trout at night under the lights. We caught flounder, black drum, redfish, croaker also. Fishing was excellent during the day too. We caught about a 4 lb flounder and about a dozen redfish off of pier the largest redfish was 35” and 25”. Just a very amazing fishing trip. The house was perfect for fishing. We have rented many houses on Caney and on the intercoastal and the “fish house” is by far the best fishing!

Weekend Getaway

We had a lot of fun and relaxation this weekend. While our daughter preferred to spend most of her time enjoying the WIFI inside, my husband spent most of his time on the pier! We caught some fish, but the downside was the bait shops didn't have any "live" bait! My husband caught some shad of the pier with his cast net and we had some platics that we used to catch a few keepers! We will definitely be back as Sargent is one of our favorite fishing places! The beach was nice too. The water was beautiful this weekend!

Fishing success!

Place was very clean! Fishing peer is great and fishing was incredible! Caught 58 fish including black drum, sand sea trout, sheepshead, flounder and 1 chair that blew into the water. 3 crab from the crab trap. All in three nights! Great place and would definitely recommend!

Fishing and Relaxation

Everything was spot on. The host was great and fishing pretty decent considering the weather and time of year. Update needed to listing, there is no hotub as listed. The hot tub doesn't matter to us, but may to some. 5 star's and will book again in the spring.

Summer Trip to Sargent

We had a great week at the Fishing house. Kate and Donna are always awesome to deal with (thank you both). The fishing in the bay can be a challenge in the warmer months, but we still had some luck out on the boat. And the fishing off of the pier was great as usual. Tip for pier fishermen: The activity seems to pick up significantly as the tide starts to come back in. And the later the better, so get that afternoon nap in. We'll be back again next year for sure. Thanks again.

I'm the property Manager, having lived in Sargent 30 years and loving every minute.
Fishin' House is the first house I ever managed for an owner, and its been a favorite of guests from the very beginning.
The Jacobs family who own it, appreciate the quiet getaway feel of Sargent and benefit from the awesome night fishing on their pier. Mike Jacobs is a committed Matagorda County resident having served on the Jackson Electric Board of Directors for many years.
