Built in 1924, Linden House retains many of its original features, all of which are functional but may operate differently from modern constructions. The original double-hung windows, complete with their counterbalance system requires a delicate touch and some windows will not have screens. Doors, handles and hardware throughout the home reflect the craftsmanship of the time, but may stick or need a little finesse. The original hardwood floors are in great shape, but show signs of 100 years of use. Although modern updates have been made these historic elements remain and add to the home's charm.

Great Stay

We were in town for a Hoosiers basketball game. The house was perfect and within walking distance to both the game and Kirkwood. Too many amenities and special touches to mention. We had plenty of room to spread out and especially enjoyed the game room. Character galore! Our kids are now begging for a record player like the one in the basement. We hope to be back to fully take advantage of the house and outdoor space when the weather is nicer.

Absolutely awesome place. Exactly as advertised. It would have been a 10/10 on location and house condition alone, but the owners think of everything to make the stay incredible. It’s clear that they really want your stay in Bloomington to be memorable.Besides the incredible kindness/thoughtfulness…the attention to detail is also extraordinary — even all the way down to phone shedding cables (both USB C and older versions) on each bedside nightstand.The games were great as was the backyard.I definitely hope to stay here again with my family.

Absolutely Perfect Stay at Linden House!

Linden House was the perfect spot for our college girls’ reunion weekend in Bloomington! From the moment we arrived, it felt like the ultimate Hoosier home - thoughtfully designed, beautifully decorated, and full of Indiana University charm. Every detail was clearly planned with care, from the cozy spaces to the IU-themed touches that made us nostalgic for our campus days. The house had everything we needed (and then some!) - plenty of space to gather, laugh, and catch up, plus all the modern comforts that made it feel like home. No detail was missed, and it was spotless, stylish, and simply perfect for our group. We can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Bloomington. Linden House set the bar high for reunion trips! ❤️

This property has many amenities for all age groups! There were many indoor spaces for family members to do different activities . There was outdoor space to play games and visit. The game room was a big asset for all age groups. It had bedrooms on all 3 levels which was nice for different age groups for sleeping arrangements. It was a great place for our family annual vacation for 3 generation ages!! Being close to IU was also nice!!

Fantastic Historic House

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! Not only was it very clean, but there were plenty of unique unique and thoughtful touches including games and blankets for around the firepit. It's clear that the owners have thought of everything you could possibly need. We loved the gaming room and overall design of the shared spaces and bedrooms. The outdoor area is very inviting and the landscape was beautiful! I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this house if you have a large group staying in the Bloomington area!

Gorgeous Historical Home in Bloomington

Our extended family enjoyed the holidays in this beautiful 1920s, renovated home. The hosts were very prompt and responsive in all communications. The home included thoughtful amenities, and the decor and furniture choices were all beautiful. We all enjoyed the games, arcade, pool table, darts, and air hockey. The bedding was high end, and we all slept well. While the kitchen was small for today's standards, it added to the charm of the historic home, and was stocked with everything we needed to make home cooked meals. The outdoor spaces were inviting and would be great for warmer temps. Everyone in our party loved the home, except for our Boilermaker alum, Ha. We will definitely consider staying here again. (Go Hoosiers!)

We couldn’t have asked for a better stay! The home itself was unique and beautiful and it’s clear the owners have invested so much thought into making the house a wonderful escape for whoever visits. Though the weather wasn’t on our side for to enjoy Lake Monroe, but only for one day, the house was perfect enough to keep everyone occupied and enjoy some relaxation. We utilized every bit of the kitchen and enjoyed grilling our burgers and hotdogs, cooked an amazing breakfast on the grill, made a shrimp boil and then ordered some amazing pizza from Goodfellas. We spent two of our evenings enjoying the firepit while talking and listening to the music. They have a Bluetooth speaker, so it was perfect to have with us outside. They also have cornhole and other outdoor games available. They seriously have thought of everything to ensure your stay is perfect (little snacks, games, laundry detergent sheets, hygiene essentials, etc). We had 4 adults and 6 kids (ages 6-19) and it was more than enough room and we never felt like we were on top of one another. The owners were very easy to communicate with and did everything they could to ensure our stay was perfect and memorable. We will absolutely stay there again!

Brad, an IU alumnus and Indiana native, grew up immersed in Hoosier traditions and knows all the local favorites - from Nick's English Hut to the Bluebird. While Nicole, originally from California, fell in love with Bloomington's charm - the liveliness of Kirkwood Ave., the serene beauty of Dunn Woods and the campus' remarkable architecture that combines history and character.

We're a family of six, with twin daughters eager to join IU in 2025, a curious and imaginative five-year-old daughter, and an energetic three-year-old son. Our two lovable dogs round out our busy household in Carmel, IN. Hosting gives us the joy of meeting new people, sharing our favorite parts of Bloomington and creating a memorable experience for every guest.

At Linden House, we've carefully designed a space that blends luxury and comfort, perfect for IU events, family getaways, or peaceful escapes. We look forward to making your stay special!
