The Space:

Tucked away on a private lake with a sandy beach, Lake Effect Lodge offers a quiet Northern Michigan escape surrounded by nature, trails, and beautiful water views. It’s the perfect place to relax, unplug, and enjoy the outdoors in every season.



The cabin sits on a peaceful property with access to a private 40-acre lake shared only with on-site guests. Spend your days swimming, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, or rowing on the lake, then unwind around the fire pit under the stars.



Guests also enjoy access to hiking trails, wildlife viewing, charcoal grills, and designated fire pits throughout the property. A shared clubhouse with a lounge and laundry is available, and parking is conveniently located next to the cabin.



Located in Northern Michigan, the cabin is within driving distance of Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island ferries, Petoskey, Harbor Springs, and the famous Tunnel of Trees scenic drive. In winter, the area offers access to snowmobile trails and year-round outdoor recreation.



This is a cozy rustic cabin designed to let you enjoy the natural surroundings. There is no air conditioning, and guests typically find the fresh air and lake breezes keep the cabin comfortable.



Whether you’re visiting for a weekend getaway or a longer stay, Lake Effect Lodge is a peaceful place to slow down and enjoy the Up North experience.



Guest Access:

Guests enjoy full access to Vincent Lake and the surrounding private property, offering a peaceful setting to relax, explore, and enjoy the outdoors.

Each cabin is equipped with reliable Wi-Fi suitable for streaming, remote work, and everyday use.

Lake and Beach -

Private sandy beach for swimming. No lifeguard on duty—swim at your own risk.

Fishing is catch and release only. A valid Michigan fishing license is required.

Kayaks, paddle boards, and rowboats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Life jackets are recommended when using the lake.

Outside boats, engines, paddle boards, kayaks, or canoes are not permitted.

Amenities and Shared Spaces -

Charcoal grills are available (guests provide charcoal).

Fires are allowed only in designated fire pits.

Please wash and put away all dishes after use and do not store food in the clubhouse refrigerator.

Laundry facilities available (detergent not provided).

Tunnel of Trees Scenic Drive, about 35 minutes, one of Michigan’s most famous scenic routes

Cross Village and Legs Inn, about 45 minutes, a popular stop for dining and views

Sleeping Bear Dunes, about 2 hours, home to some of the most impressive dunes in the Midwest



Getting Around:

A vehicle is recommended, as the property is in a quiet rural area. Most guests drive to nearby towns, restaurants, and attractions. Mackinaw City, Petoskey, and Harbor Springs are all within a comfortable driving distance, and parking is available directly next to the cabin.



Other Things to Note:

Cabin #1 is one of five cabins on the property.

No smoking inside the cabins.

Quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

Pets must be leashed and cleaned up after.

Do not flush wipes or feminine products; plumbing violations incur a $500 fee.

No fireworks or firearms permitted on the property.

Outside boats, engines, kayaks, canoes, or paddle boards are not permitted.



Interaction with Guests:

Each cabin uses a lockbox with a physical key for self check-in.

Lockbox codes are sent 24 hours prior to check-in.

Smart locks are being phased in. If equipped, updated access instructions will be sent before arrival.

Guests are given privacy to enjoy their stay, but owners or staff are nearby and available if anything is needed.
