Our property is located in a humid subtropical area, so it's also normal to see wildlife like squirrels, birds, raccoons, snakes, bats, spiders, and occasionally small rodents.

We take every measure to prevent pests with regular professional pest control.

If a bug sneaks inside, feel free to evict it yourself, or let us know, we’ll be happy to re-treat the property if needed.

To help prevent these visitors, avoid leaving doors open for long periods and don’t leave food or crumbs unattended inside or outside.

We personally wouldn't recommend this place unless you want to bring alot of things to use in the kitchen. They have pots and pans which was helpful since we don't love going out to eat while on vacation. But that was on me for not asking all the questions. All the places we've stayed at if it had a kitchen it was usually pretty stocked so I didn't bother to ask before booking. But what put us over the top was this place had mice & rats. The smell was absolutely so nasty. We didn't receive any compensation because the owner said it was out of his control which is fine but it definitely cured us from wanting to come back. The upstairs apartment also dealt with rats. If it wouldn't have been for that, it really isn't a bad place and great for a couple to stay at!

We sincerely regret that your stay did not meet your expectations; however, we must clarify several points. In our 10 years as hosts, we have provided a kitchen equipped with all functional basics for a vacation rental. It is important to note that we checked in with you via the platform on February 9th—two days after your arrival—to ensure your satisfaction. At that time, your only request was for a broom(it was in the closet), and you never mentioned a lack of utensils that we could have easily provided. Regarding the rodents, this was an isolated incident caused by unprecedented below-freezing temperatures in Florida, which forced wildlife to seek shelter. We explained this to you in detail. We made multiple attempts to coordinate with a professional exterminator, but your lack of cooperation made a resolution impossible. Communication was difficult as you restricted us to the Vrbo chat and refused phone contact; furthermore, you were never present during the day and explicitly denied us permission to enter in your absence to fix the issue. The reported odors were likely a temporary side effect of the professional baiting treatment, as no physical evidence was found during inspections. Our listing clearly states we are surrounded by nature; per our policies, we do not accept refunds or biased reviews based on natural occurrences beyond our control. We remain committed to the high standards we have maintained for a decade.
