**Please be patient with us while we show Gram & Grandfather's Lakehouse some much needed love.**

This amazing home was built and owned by a US Airforce vet and his wife. As his family, our goal is to preserve the experience this home has offered for over 30 years. This property features 2 king beds, 1 queen bed, and 2 twin beds. Find solitude here with an open floor plan, two screened in porches, and tons of windows that offer amazing lake views. We offer a fully stocked kitchen, linen, towels for bathing and swimming, pool table, games for children and adults, and the feel of visiting a well loved family home that we want to share with you! Enjoy the newly rebuilt dock that is perfect for summer fun! We provide floats, paddle board, kayaks, and MORE! Our dock offers a cement staircase to allow ease of getting both in and out of the lake and a ramp to the dock to allow easier access for all ages. Stay here and truly get the SML experience!

Weekend Getaway

House was very clean and had plenty of amenities for a weekend trip. Location on the lake is also great with plenty of stuff to do. Would definitely stay here again!

WOW! What a great house! So big and a great spot on the lake. We enjoyed hanging out on the dock and floating around in the lake even though it was raining. Great hostess with good communication. Thanks so much!!

We had an amazing stay at this lakehouse. The location was fantastic—right on the water with beautiful views. The house was very clean, well-maintained, and had great amenities. It truly had everything we needed for a comfortable and fun trip.We spent our days out on the dock and in the lake, and our evenings playing pool and relaxing. The only minor downside was that the basement was a bit cold, but the owner gave us a heads-up ahead of time so we were prepared.Overall, a perfect spot for a lake vacation. We’d definitely come back!

beautiful, quiet, peaceful. morning coffee on the deck overlooking the quiet cove off the lake watching deer and humming birds. days spent on the dock, sunning, reading, swimming and kayaking. great dock for a boat or getting on a kayak. nice concrete platform in the shallows for little ones to stand in the water. evenings on the deck watching changing light of the setting sun on the (no houses) forested smith mountain. definitely on my "come-back" list.

Annual Lake Trip Getaway!

What an incredible stay we had at this extremely cozy spot on the lake. The house was extremely spacious and very comfortable. This house has so much personality, it was like stepping into a time capsule. So many things in the house brought my wife and I back down memory lane when we would go and visit our families. We loved the huge family room, and the bedroom for us upstairs was great and separate from all of the kids. We brought our boat and was so thrilled the launch was right there in the neighborhood. The ramp was clean and the dock was very well done. We kept it tied up at the house on the dock. the rope swing and upper level jump off was a blast. The kids at first were asking.. Are you sure we can jump off this thing? And by the end of the trip, they all were flying off of it. We loved using the kayaks and paddleboards, which filled the time when meals had to be made, so it kept the kiddos out of the house.By then end of it, on the drive back, you know it was a good trip, when all you see is sun burned faces asleep in the back seat! Thank you so much for having this home available - We are already looking forward to next year!

As their daughter‑in‑law, it means the world to me to help preserve the comfort and meaning this home has held for more than three decades.

We live locally here at Smith Mountain Lake, so we’re close by if you need anything during your stay. More importantly, we care deeply about this home and the experience it offers. Every guest who walks through the door becomes part of its story, and we take pride in keeping it welcoming, peaceful, and full of the same warmth our family has always felt here.
