Sur Cedarville Bay 3 Bed / 2 Bath Nautical Paradise

Cet endroit abritait un magasin de bateaux historiques appartenant à Burton Norton qui a construit et restauré des bateaux en bois classiques à côté de Cedarville Bay au début des années 1900. Le hangar à bateaux a été construit dans les années 1980 et dispose de quartiers d'habitation qui comprennent maintenant la location disponible pour vous. La maison est décorée dans un thème nautique et il y a de nombreux articles nautiques, photos, etc. ornant les murs. En outre, il existe un grand nombre de livres et de magazines traitant de sujets nautiques et autres. Fidèles à l'histoire et au thème nautiques, les espaces cuisine (cuisine), têtes (salles de bain) et mess (coin repas) sont compacts mais fonctionnels. En revanche, le salon est ouvert et spacieux et très ouvert avec le mur de fenêtres coulissantes en verre ouvrant sur le pont offrant une vue imprenable.

La location offre une vue panoramique sur le cœur de la baie de Cedarville et les îles Les Cheneaux sur un pont côté canal récemment rénové 2018! Les vues depuis le pont du troisième niveau sont magnifiques, comme on peut le voir sur certaines photos.

L'unité est un trois niveaux avec 3 chambres. Au premier étage, la chambre 1 a un lit double et deux lits jumeaux, la chambre 2 a un lit double et la salle de bain au premier étage a une salle de bain complète. Au deuxième étage se trouve la chambre principale avec un nouveau lit queen size. La zone de couchage au deuxième étage de la salle à manger a une banquette-lit et une salle de bain complète au deuxième étage.

Veuillez noter qu'il y a des escaliers en colimaçon dans cette unité pour accéder aux espaces de vie à l'étage. Le troisième étage n'est vraiment qu'à un demi-étage au-dessus du deuxième étage et est relié par un escalier en colimaçon partiel.

Le hangar à bateaux contient un slip intérieur / couvert 30x30 pour toute personne souhaitant apporter son bateau. Le hangar à bateaux est accessible par une porte extérieure ainsi que par une porte au 1er étage.

The VRBO listing didn’t show inside pictures so we didn’t know what to expect - 1st impression was a little skeptical but we quickly came to love it. Weather was cold, cloudy, and super windy so we didn’t use the best feature - the deck - but will definitely come stay again. Thank you.

Wonderful time!

Central location to many great destinations. Lovely home and amazing town full of friendly people. Beautiful views and space for all activities at the house. Water is nice and the view at night of the stars is something to behold. We all love going as a group and cant wait for the next trip.

We weren't sure what to expect from the photos, but chose this house because it is right on the water and is close to where our friends live. We are glad we did. The house is truly unique, with plenty of room for large groups, and the view is spectacular. We plan on coming back next summer.

Very nice spot, deck was amazing, antiques and old maps were added bonus. We rented a pontoon one day and used the boat house. It was handy. Only drawback- I would invest in new mattresses for downstairs rooms but everything else was good. Thanks for a memorable trip.

Check in easy, host was very good and checked in to see how it was going. We’re aware of many things about the property. Front door very old worked with a skeleton key that you can only lock from the inside and door had to be opened with a good bump of the hip, upstairs floor slants, tiny kitchen, spiral stair cases, etc. While house was extremely unique enjoyed the oddities. However we felt that it was lacking in general upkeep of the facility. You know, little things that need fixing around the house.

Lots of space. Great location. Great deck, view and gas fire pit. Great washer and dryer. The windows hadn’t been washed in a long time and were covered with spiders and dozens of large spider nests. This is an easy fix. Bring extra drinking water, as water from facet isn’t safe to drink. Owners were responsive.

Beautiful Views, but Major Issues with the House

The views from the deck are stunning, and the hosts generously provided propane for the grill and firepit. However, several issues detract from the stay. The dock shown in the photos is not part of the property, and this isn’t disclosed until after booking. The interior is functional but doesn't quite match the expectations set by the pictures. Issues included blinds in the kitchen that couldn’t be closed, missing electrical outlet covers, a non-functional upstairs shower due to leaking into the downstairs bathroom, and a leaking kitchen sink requiring towels to be placed underneath. Additionally, the fridge froze most of our food, and the controls were missing. The water for the house is pumped from the lake, which we were only informed of after a water outage. The hosts were responsive and came to adjust the pump, but the lack of notice was frustrating. The house itself noticeably slants, especially on the third floor. While the views are indeed beautiful, the price doesn't justify the many hazards and inconveniences. Lastly, communication was inconsistent, with multiple check-in sheets listing different contacts. The hosts were friendly and responsive to issues, but we won’t be returning despite the town and scenery being exceptional.

We stayed at The Boathouse for 3 nights in July while in town for a family event.First, the positives: the location is fantastic, with beautiful views of Cedarville Bay from the deck. The kitchen has the basics, there is plenty of sleeping space, the master bed was very comfortable, and the nautical décor gives the house a unique personality. It also looks impressive from the water. Communication before and on arrival was very good.Unfortunately, the property needs significant attention. The exterior was filthy, with cobwebs, dirt, leaves, and broken items around the property. We arrived on a warm day to an unbearably hot house and spent nearly an hour trying to open old windows that either wouldn't open, had no screens, or wouldn't stay open. I understand A/C isn't typical in the UP, but functioning windows, screens, and airing out the house before guests arrive would make a huge difference.There were also numerous maintenance issues: a damaged sliding screen door, nonworking ceiling fan, broken blinds, shower door that wouldn't stay closed, sticking front door (easily solved with a wood plane!), torn furniture with exposed stuffing, and a cluttered boathouse. The house noticeably leans where it meets the boathouse, and the upper deck did not feel safe. Deck had a broken sink.I've stayed in many rustic cabins in Les Cheneaux, and rustic doesn't have to mean neglected. This property has a great location and concept but needs the care and some serious maintenance to match

This location is not child safe or made for anyone who has difficulty with stairs. Two bedrooms are on first floor accessible via spiral staircase or two flights of exterior stairs. Both bathrooms are very small three quarters bathrooms with a pivoting shower door, a large or tall person will not fit. The floor was not clean on any level when we arrived and surfaces were dusty and spiderwebs. There were ants in the top floor. There were safety concerns on the worn deck with bowed and loose boards and railing rungs missing. Overall do not recommend. The town is beautiful and the people in town were very friendly.

Location and View is Amazing

Our family gathered for a very special get together honoring a passed loved one. The deck and view is out of this world. Super responsive to inquiries and needs of water, propane and trash needing attention. We managed fine; but it's a 3 story accessible with 2 sets of stairs/ could be difficult with someone compromised. Kitchen could use a little sprucing up/ liners in cabinets and some updated cookware-. Will absolutely stay here again as the deck and boathouse are an incredible gem for this area!

Amazing amount of nautical history at this home! The location is great and the the deck overlooking the bay is absolutely the best part of the home. The boat garage is a close second ... so cool to dock boat right inside the house! would highly recommend to bring a boat, or rent one... the Les Cheneaux Islands are and awesome place to boat & fish.

We try to make it clear from the size and pictures that our boathouse is a one of a kind, unique place to visit. Tri level and vintage with new updates from 2021 spring. It is very unique and quaint but glad you enjoyed your stay!
