Explore the Best of Costa Rica’s South Pacific Coast
Our home is tucked just outside of Matapalo, in the peaceful region of Savegre de Aguirre, a hidden gem on Costa Rica’s breathtaking South Pacific Coast. This area is where the lush green mountains roll right down to meet the sparkling Pacific Ocean, creating a dramatic and unforgettable landscape.
Just a 15 km drive south brings you to Dominical, a laid-back surf town known for its easy vibe, and natural beauty. Head a little farther south and you’ll reach Uvita, a lively little town with great restaurants, local markets, and access to Marino Ballena National Park—home of the famous Whale’s Tail, a must-see at low tide.
To the north, Quepos is about 20 km away, offering a taste of everyday Costa Rican life, along with regional flights from its local airport. It’s also the gateway for exploring Manuel Antonio National Park, famous for its white sand beaches and abundant wildlife. And if you’re into fishing, Quepos is one of the top spots in the world for big game sport fishing.
Beach lovers are in luck—there’s no shortage of spectacular stretches of sand. The closest are Playa Matapalo (just a 7-minute drive away) and the peaceful Playa Linda right beside. The coastline here is known for its long, uncrowded beaches, perfect for long walks, beachcombing, or simply soaking up the sun in peace.
