We enjoyed our stay. However, there are some updates that are needed in the condo that are not noticeable in the photos when selecting a place to stay. We also had to have someone come work on the dryer because it would not tumble. At first the repair man said it would be after our stay before it would be fixed. Thankfully it got fixed in time to do laundry before we left to head home. His language was very poor and unprofessional while he was present as well. The handle on the balcony door is broken and very hard to open. Overall, we love staying at Shoalwater condominiums but this condo needs some TLC in our opinion. *The Beach Chair Rental company and workers were wonderful and very helpful in assisting us with our chair rentals while we were there.

Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed your stay overall and continue to love Shoalwater Condominiums. We sincerely apologize for the encounter you had with the third-party repair technician. The language and conduct you described are certainly not the experience we expect for our guests and do not reflect our company’s core values. We’re pleased the dryer was repaired in time for you to complete your laundry before heading home. We have also shared your comments regarding the balcony door handle and the condo’s overall condition with our property care team for review. Guest feedback like yours helps us identify areas that may need additional attention beyond what can be seen in listing photos. Thank you again for choosing Beach Getaways. We hope to welcome you back for another relaxing stay at Shoalwater soon!

Great Condo!

The condo was perfect for our family vacation. Enjoyed the facilities and the beach. Plenty space for 6 adults and 1 toddler. The pools were wonderful! Quiet and comfortable. Our only complaints were that the bed in the master was extremely soft and the dryer did not stop running when opened. But those were minor things.

Jennifer, thank you for taking the time to leave a review and are very happy to hear how much y’all enjoyed the condo and your stay in Orange Beach. We appreciate your feedback and will have our maintenance staff check on the dryer. We apologize you did not find it to be comfortable, but mattresses are very much a personal preference and one size does not fit all. We do appreciate you bringing it to our attention and we’re look forward to hosting your trip.

Great location

The condo was great and in a good location. However the rental company Gulf Coast getaways was unresponsive once they were paid. My emails and phone calls were not returned.

Amy, glad you enjoyed your recent trip to Orange Beach. Surprised to hear you say our company was unresponsive and I am very sorry you felt that way. We always try to answer every email and phone call however I know we had issues with our toll free phone number service being routed correctly for several weeks this summer. Thanks for your feedback and contact me directly so that we can help make this right for you. Ken.

Great location

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Plus side is this is a great location and only steps from the beach. Negative side is there was sand in the beds, floors were very dirty, hair clogging bath tub drains, and there was no ice (no ice maker).

Constance, glad you enjoyed your recent trip to Orange Beach and thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We will address the tile floors and have them steam cleaned since they do take quite a lot of traffic during the busy summer season. We have found most people don't realize how much sand they have on their feet and legs when they jump in bed and it falls off on the sheets but we are glad to drop off more sheets if you let us know. Always feel free to give us a call if you have issues with drains and we will be right out. They do get a lot of sand in them as you can imagine. Keep us in mind for your next trip down. Thanks again. Ken

Great location and well maintained property!

We enjoyed being right on the beach, of course. Access was easy. The entire property was spotless and beautiful, from pool to landscaping to walkways. I didn’t cook one time, so I could not speak to much in the kitchen other than storage. :) The only complaint we had was the fact that walkway lights shine bright into the guest bedroom, even with the blinds closed. A nice upgrade to the unit would be blinds that really darken the rooms at night. Thanks for a great stay!

Spacious Beachfront Getaway

We stayed in Unit 902. It was clean upon arrival, though with one vent in the Master Bath unhinged. They did fix it during our stay. The unit was plenty of room for our family of 8, 6 children and 2 adults. The amenities were perfect! Indoor pool area, outdoor pool area and a little wading shallow pool area for younger kids that we all used. I would have given 5 stars if not for the elevator that had no fan or moving air, so was unusually hot inside along with some very loud teenage guests Saturday night that were screaming from the pool at midnight. Sometimes that can't be helped. Otherwise, we had a wonderful time! The location is perfect on the beach and close to everything fun at the beach as well as the best restaurants of Orange Beach. We would book here again!

Construction

The entire building was under construction. The construction worker showed up early and we’re extremely loud. There is dust and debris everywhere! This was not properly listed on the listing. We could not use any of the public facilities including the pool and outdoor spots near the pool due to the construction on every tower.

Just ok

The photos make it look very nice. It’s not. Besides changing the sheets and vacuuming, nothing has been cleaned in some time. The dryer vent was so clogged, the dryer wouldn’t dry. We fixed that. I refused to empty the canister in the vacuum, but it doesn’t wrk bc it’s so dirty. The remote to one tv was missing, the other didn’t wrk. My sister was able to fix the tv which wasn’t working at all when we arrived. A maintenance guy came, shrugged his shoulders and we nvr saw him again. If they cared, it could be nice-ish but since they don’t, it’s on the way to total trash.

Hello Lori, thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your stay at our condo. We appreciate your unique take on our property, and it sounds like you take quality and comfort as seriously as we do. We hope the view from the spacious balcony and the sugary white beach were everything you thought they would be. They're pretty special! We're sorry to hear about the cleaning issues you encountered, and we would have gladly addressed these if you had brought them to our attention. Housekeeping concerns are not something we take lightly, and we're always eager to make things right and quickly! As for the vacuum and the missing remote, we apologize for any inconvenience you experienced. Our Quality Assurance team is just a text, DM or phone call away and we're LocAL 😉so response time is quick. It's great that you were able to handle the dryer vent situation like a pro! We're glad to hear you've got some DIY skills up your sleeve. Sounds like a quick switch of the input got the TV back up and running too. We genuinely care about the quality of your stay, and your feedback. We hope you'll be back to the beach for more salty memories! See y'all soon!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our vacation rental was wonderful. The unit was clean, comfortable, and fit the needs of all of our party. I particularly liked how the room arrangement accommodated two different parties with the separation of the bedrooms associated with the bathrooms. The location of the unit provided privacy, too. We did not receive parking passes and after checking in with the agent, and being reassured that we would receive parking passes, and not receiving them, but consequently reassured that it SHOULD not be a problem with security, we did NOT have a problem, until the last day as we were leaving for home. At that time we DID have notifications from the security staff informing us that our vehicles would be towed if we did not have parking passes. All in all it worked out, but perhaps for future reference, the parking passes should be in the unit upon the patron's arrival. We were very pleased, and the only other thing that could have changed was the weather, which I am aware is out of your control!!! :) :) :) Thank you!

Family Vacation

Condo was smaller than the average 3 bed/2 bath condo. The glass on the sliding glass door in the den has some type of film on it so you can't clearly see the gulf or beach. It wasn't dirt because I tried to clean it. Bedroom doors wouldn't close or would have to be slammed to close all the way. The same for the pantry door. Closets were small and packed with old blankets, pillows and vacuums. The kitchen was so small that only 2 people could be in it at a time. The kitchen table only seats 4 and counter 2 people for meals. There weren't enough towels for our family so we called housekeeping. Nobody ever came with more. We wouldn't stay in this condo again. The complex had a nice pool area, BBQ pits, plenty of carts. and there was never a problem with elevators.

Couple updates then it will be perfect

Exterior of building in need of some maintenance for sure but unit was freshly updated and very clean. A few things need to be repaired, trash cabinet door falling off base, drawer handle broken. Most annoying was the door stop flopping down every time you open the door. Shower rod and towel bar pulled out of the walls. Dishwasher not latched on countertop so pulls out when trying to open door. Sprinkler system shows its age. I slept in one of the smaller rooms, black out curtains would be awesome as the light filters thru the blinds making it difficult to sleep. On the positive side, Absolutely loved the flooring, Livingroom and patio furniture. Beautiful view from the balcony and easy access to the beach. Would stay again for sure, great location and access to everything you would need.
