La vieille cabine arrière à balais

Le Rainforest Back Cabin est situé à 300 mètres à l'arrière de la propriété, entouré d'une grande variété d'eucalyptus et d'arbres de la forêt tropicale et à quelques pas du début de la plupart des sentiers de randonnée de la forêt tropicale à The Old Brush.

La cabine arrière est construite à partir de matériaux recyclés et appréciés. Il a un lit queen confortable (qui a une couverture électrique) avec un canapé-lit double gigogne.

La cabine est entièrement équipée avec une grande quantité de couverts, vaisselle, ustensiles de cuisine et verres.

Nous vous demandons d'apporter votre linge, taies d'oreiller et serviettes de bain s'il vous plaît. Il y a plein d'oreillers et de couvertures.

This was our second stay. Gail is always very friendly and helpful. Nice to sit and relax in front of a fireplace with well stocked wood. Loved feeding the birds morning and evening.

Gail was an amazing host, the cabin was so cute and in a nice area. The cabin was in a nice bush area, the view of it all was very beautiful and calming. Would stay there again :)

Loved the rustic cabin and period furniture in a beautiful secluded nature area. Great viewings of birds and will definitely returning.The host, Gail, was also very lovely and easy to communicate with.

Had an absolutely amazing time! Gail was amazing and very accomodating. Typically with cabins they’re under-equipped but everything in there was very well thought out for a comfortable stay. Will definitely be booking again!

Picturesque Spot, amazing wildlife.

One of these best getaway weekends we could have had. Private and secluded but had everything we needed. Absolute picturesque spot. Amazing walking tracks, and we saw so many kangaroos and birds. If you’re looking for a grounding escape, this is perfect place. Thank you Gail and Rob for a great weekend, we will be back !

Surreal

Lovely cottage is an amazing setting! We had the most unwinding relaxing time sitting by the fire looking out the perfectly set picture window lostening to the rain on the tin roof. Will do our best to come back!!

As soon as you arrive at this private and picturesque cabin you know you have made the right choice. Everything has been thought of to ensure a cosy and enjoyable stay in any weather. Beautiful surrounds with lots of birdlife. Kangeroos laying around in the sun, and walking tracks that are well sign posted. Even sitting on the porch just watching the rain fall was a delight. Gail was great in her communications, and while she gave us complete privacy, she was just up the road if we needed anything. We will be staying longer next time.

A Cosy Adventure

I travel remotely often as a solo female who needs equal peace, serenity & an adventure all rolled into one, with a safe place to return to, and Gail's cabin is exactly this. On arrival after getting partially stuck in the RNP, Gail made me feel absolutely welcome & happy to be back on sturdy ground. The cabin with surrounding private lake and various mini hikes waere gorgeous, clean & had all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Will return again soon, thank you! 💜

Sweet Serenity

Gail and Robert have thoughtfully and sensitively developed their beautiful property providing a genuine sense of retreat from the outside world. They have a lovely eye for creating very aesthetically pleasing spaces. Detailed information regarding animal and plant life along walking trails is also provided. Both Gail and Robert were very kind and considerate towards us. Thanks very much for having us.

Everything you need to unwind

Place is nice and quaint - a bit outdated but adds to the charm. Feels like a time capsule that's been enjoyed for the last 40 years, in the bush. Lots of privacy, though we were lucky as there were no other guests (there is another studio as well as the owners on the property which are very well-spaced out and the grounds are open to day-visitors). The adjoining grounds are great to wander around. Encountered a variety of birds and roos - beware the kangaroos, they expect to be fed!

Secret hideaway

Loved the cabin in the heart of this property, everything we needed was at hand for our stay and the beautiful serenity of the woodland and the lakes was the peace and quiet we needed. Open fire pit outside and a beautiful wood burning fire inside. The kangaroos came to say Hi to us out of curiosity, and we loved being in heart of nature. No phone reception, no internet just downtime from the madness of modern society. My only downside was the outside toilet and shower, and if you’re an arachnophobic, like me you won’t want to be using the amenities.

My wife and I spent the long weekend at The Old Brush Back Cabin, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by the peaceful beauty of nature lush bushland, birdsong in the morning, and even the occasional visit from local wildlife like kangaroos and wallabies.The cabin itself is charming, cosy, and thoughtfully furnished with everything you need for a relaxing stay. We loved the rustic touches and how well it blended with the natural surroundings. Waking up each morning to mist over the valley and the sounds of the bush was pure magic.It’s the perfect place to unwind, disconnect, and enjoy quality time together. Whether you’re sitting on the deck with a coffee, spotting wildlife, or just soaking up the serenity, it feels like a little hidden gem away from the hustle.Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful escape in Hunter Valley. We’ll definitely be back!

Return visit to Old Brush

My husband and I decided to get away for the weekend at the last minute, and we were so happy to see that there was some availability at the Old Brush. Our host Gail was very responsive and communicated with us straight away to help make it happen, and we stayed in touch on the journey as well as we were delayed due to the poor weather. Once we arrived we felt instantly relaxed and were welcomed with a stocked fireplace and all the comforts you vould possibly need. We shared the space with some beautiful wildlife, and had the best sleep in we've had for a long time! We got a chance to catch up with Gail and her wonderful dog Archie which was so lovely. Highly recommend Old Brush. I know we will return again for our 3rd stay.Thanks again Gail, Robert and Archie for having us!

Hidden Gem

This property is majestic! My mother and I spend a night here just to get away together and enjoy nature. We stayed in the Old Brush Cabin. The cabin was in an idyllic, tranquil location amidst the forest. There were so many beautiful places on the property to have a picnic and to just sit and enjoy the serenity. There were many beautiful walks – well signposted and maps were provided. Despite being in close proximity to the Hunter Valley it felt like we were in the middle of nowhere – it truly was a hidden gem. We enjoyed watching all the bird life outside the window and later that night reading by the fireplace. As the sun was setting a kangaroo and her joey came right onto our veranda. They were very friendly – we could pat them. Our cabin was near a billabong and it was wonderful falling asleep to the sounds of frogs. The cabin itself was so cosy and rustic yet fully equipped. Due to limited reception we were able to relax and enjoy our time without outside influences. The hosts, Gail and Robert were very friendly and made us feel welcome straight away. We had a great chat and played with their dog Archie. Gail went above and beyond to make mum comfortable (due to her medical condition). Gail and Robert were amazing hosts and wonderful people. I highly recommend staying in the Old Brush Cabin!
