Charming redwood cottage in private, friendly Association with 400 ft. beach...!

And yes! per your warm comments in our cottage notebook - I can only imagine how exciting and thrilling the winds and waves must have been that weekend!! Lots of damage has been done along the shoreline, but next spring the Association will build a new set of stairs/decks to get down to a larger beach, I think!! Thanks so much, Sonia! We're delighted that you had a good stay! Yes, there has always been a fire pit on the beach, but as you know, the beach is smaller this year, and a bit unpredictable! Also, we feel that the houses/cottages in the section are so wooded that it hasn't felt safe to have a fire pit on our property. Thank you so much for your lovely comments - we're so glad that you enjoyed your stay in our cottage and the beauties of our gardens and our Association! It's a very special area! We're puzzled by your comments about having very little beach, and want to clarify, in case there was any misunderstanding about what is available to you as our guests - our Association has a large, private beach which is available to all owners, and renters, staying within the Association, and limited to the Association, so there's direct access and privacy. As you say, folks can go down a central set of stairs to the beach, which extends both ways from the stairs, North and South, totaling 400ft. of shoreline. Over the past several years, Lake Michigan waters were extremely high, and there was much erosion along all of Lake Michigan's shores. However, the lake has gone back down and we once again have had a lovely beach area, wide and deep enough for all to enjoy. Wild weather can certainly change the beach from one day to the next, but this year, regardless, we've had a great stretch of beach. You're right that other great beach options include Tunnel Park and Holland State Park, if that suits folks needs better. Thank you again for your warm comments - we appreciate you as our guests!
