The Space:

This spectacular oceanfront home has a wonderful historic style, a dog-friendly attitude, amazing location on a clifftop in Depoe Bay, and some of the best whale-watching opportunities you could hope to find! Combined with all the comforts of home and enough space for as many as eight guests, this is the perfect place to plan your next coastal vacation.



Nestled on a hill just on the south side of Depoe Bay, this home is close to the town's charming restaurants, souvenir shops, Whale Watching Center, and the world's smallest bay. From the harbor you can launch your own boat or book a spot on one of the whale-watching or deep-sea fishing tours that leave from Depoe Bay. The easiest beach access is less than five minutes north by car at Fogarty Creek, though you could also drive 10 minutes south to the breathtaking Devils Punch Bowl or north 10 minutes to Lincoln Beach and Gleneden Beach. You could even go a little farther north (about 15 minutes) into Lincoln City or take an equally short drive south into Newport.



With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, this home has plenty of space for up to eight guests (six adults maximum, please), and up to two dogs are even welcome with a small nightly fee. Inside, you will find antiques that complement the historic style of this 1930's house, as well as plenty of windows that allow gorgeous views of the ocean - look carefully and you can see harbor seals, sea lions, and even an occasional whale!



The main level of the house has a cozy living room with a TV and gas fireplace, a well-stocked full kitchen, a dining area, and a bathroom with a laundry area. One of the bedrooms is also on this level (featuring a queen-size bed) and a sofabed in the living room folds out into extra sleeping space at night.



Upstairs are two more bedrooms and a bathroom with a walk-in shower that is accessible both from the hallway and the master bedroom. The first bedroom offers a soft and comfortable queen-size bed, a television, and a lovely balcony that overlooks the town and the ocean. In the master room is a king-size bed, yet another TV, and windows with jaw-dropping views of the sea. If the weather doesn't cooperate as much as you had hoped, you can always enjoy a nice evening in and take advantage of the many entertainment options provided, including cable TV, a DVD player and selection of movies, WiFi access, board games, and a huge variety of books.



This home is a fantastic place to bring your friends or family and enjoy a vacation spent watching for whales, strolling around charming Depoe Bay, and enjoying each other's company. In the small town you will find just about everything you may need, though you could also drive up or down the coast to find more activities, state parks, dining options, and much more, so don't be afraid to explore!

Our fourth time to stay here so is beloved. Every two years we chose to escape the Texas heat and never want to leave. Depoe Bay’s restaurants, retail and whale tours are all in short walking distance. Newport and Lincoln City are both in close proximity for more options. The house is older but just part of the charm.

This was our third time here and we will be back. The views are amazing! The location is close to town so you can walk to the shops and restaurants. The kitchen is small, but who wants to cook on vacation! The eclectic decor is so much fun.

We really enjoyed our stay in Depoe Bay. The view is exceptional and the proximity of the property to "downtown" Depoe Bay is a plus. While many properties we've rented feel like sterile rental rooms, this house feels like a home. Please consider providing instructions for operating the TV and cable network. This property is in need of some maintenance and deeper cleaning; broken blinds in the living room and master bedroom, broken window screens and dirty window tracks master bedroom, painting of stair railings in front.

The house was beautiful with some some very unique and great furnishings. The bedrooms were big and very comfortable and very nicely furnished. It was in a great spot on the water and very comfortable. They should tell people there is parking for only one car. The only problem for us was that we were not able to take showers because the water pressure was so bad in the showers. You couldn't take a good shower, to rinse your hair and privates. And another mention to the owner is that the bathroom floor on the second floor was dirty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in quite some time. But the rest of the house was clean and great.

Great place! Oh my word the ocean views during a storm were excellent! Got to watch the CG practice maneuvers into the harbor during choppy seas too. Kitchen’s a bit small but who cares with that view. We’ll go back for sure!

The house has fantastic views and is very cozy and quaint. Close to town which we loved. It was cooler and rainy, the heaters and fireplace worked great. Several blinds were broken or not there but we dealt with it. Appliances were newer, kitchen was a little small. All 8 of us filled the house. There was a sofa sleeper my grandkids had to use and that’s how this house sleeps 8. Otherwise 6 is more ideal. House was clean, everyone enjoyed their stay. We would recommend this place.

Best on the bay

We have stayed here numerous times in the past but hadn't been in a while. Everything was as we remembered and it is one of our favorite places on the Oregon coast. We can't wait to come back!
