This was our first time visiting LBK with fam who knows the area well & we had a great time. This condo is beautiful. But what stood out best was how accommodating & kind the staff was for the unforeseen inconvenience of the AC unit going out on us. We are so thankful they had extra space for us to cool off and cook in while they were able to get a new AC put in for this particular condo. Our favorite part was the close proximity to the beach. Back and forth trips to the room for lunch or to cool off were very convenient.Also-sunsets were amazing off the balcony!We will definitely stay here again.

Great condo, great location

Sand Cay has a family feel. Several generations were enjoying the beach and Sand Cay’s amenities. The location is perfect.

Beautiful Gulf and beach view

Very nice property on Longboat Key. The Key is quieter and more upscale than neighboring Anna Maria Island. Perfect for our getting away from it all vacation. Surrounding restaurants (closest about a 1/3 mile, but can also get delivery from Oma’s) were VERY good. The unit itself has umbrellas, beach cart, towels, and the resort supplies chairs - no need to bring anything except maybe a small cooler. Upstairs master seems recently updated. Downstairs bathrooms could use a little updating, but all is well. Kudos to Rick, the property maintenance person, who was able to fix our AC, after hours, when we arrived. Worked perfectly thereafter!

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Several issues with the unit: 3 of the 4 outdoor bar stools were ripped and not usable. The 3 bedroom unit has 1 bedroom and bath updated, and the other 2 are not with substandard mattresses, bedding (threadbare sheets, old comforters) and decor. Rather embarrassing to decide upon who gets the “nice room”, while others are in 1-star hotel type bed & bath rooms. Drains were slow in shower/sinks, we plunged 2 toilets while there. Air conditioning unit was not functioning upon check in. After 2 trips from a repair company and 12 hours later, the unit cooled to 75. Although we appreciate management arranging for repair service, our unit was at 81 degrees at check in, and this and the bar stools should have been repaired or replaced before new guests (us) arrived. We paid premium $$ for this unit (as it’s the only 3 bedroom at Sand Cay where we have been many times) and will not stay in this unit again.

Beautiful But Pricey

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Upon arrival we were stunned at how gorgeous both the condo and the view were. You literally can't get a better view of the ocean than the living room and again in the master bedroom. It's a real treat waking up to seeing the ocean every morning.With that said, here's a list of the pros and cons from our visit:Pros:- Unbeatable views right from the condo- Beach access is as close as you can get- Beach is not crowded and chairs are supplied- Water is amazing temperature-wise at the time we went (June)- Great outdoor cooking area with 3 grills- People seems very friendly and it was nice to talk while grilling- Furnishing in condo are excellent!Cons:- We had a group move in for a few days downstairs with 6 kids and 3 adults. When we asked management to address the noise we were told we would have to deal with it or call the police. For $500+ a night, that needs to be addressed by management.- Pool water was murky and too warm. It was very uncomfortable.- No in-condo washer and dryer. Shared (free) facilities were not well ventilated- One of the bathrooms had a bath that would not properly turn on the shower. Water was not redirected properly when trying to go from bath water flow to shower flow.- Main sliding door to porch/balcony would not lock properly.- The price is a bit on the steep side when considering the cons. But overall, I would stay again.- To get out of the area to shop, you have to travel through some insanely busy areas (Coquina public beach). The area the condo is in isn't busy, but the surrounding areas are EXTREMELY crowded.

Magnificent location

My family and I stayed at this wonderful condo for 7 days. -Great location -Fantastic beach and amazing views -Very clean -Kitchen equipped to the max! - Friendly, warm, and attentive office staff… ran within 5 minutes to look at our door lock (nothing was wrong with it, our fault) -Pool, shuffleboard, tennis, grill overlooking beach, free movies and games in office We will definitely be coming back!

Great Unit, but..!

Very clean, well-appointed, comfortable unit with a beautiful view of the beach and gulf! TV's are small, dated and without internet access. WIFI is weak and spotty. Timing is important - we were here when the Red Tide was active, which I guess was our fault not knowing about this annual occurrence, so do not recommend taking a chance during that season - mid-summer to October. Eye and skin irritation, upset stomach, especially for wife, made walking the beach tough for half the time here. But, this is a great unit and we will definitely be back in the winter/spring!

As some of the other reviews state- the only thing I found odd was that there is not a king in the master. With box beds and what not these days, you'd think you get get one up there, but the queen was pretty comfortable. Other thing would be some updated shades/blackout curtains as the lighting around the condos is pretty bright, but it wasn't a deal breaker. We will def. book this condo again- everything else was very updated and had everything we needed.

Pros: location, quiet, helpful office staff, comfortable beds, nice pool ,high-end furnishings. Frustration

When we arrived their was an outside painting crew on the property I rented. A hydraulic Lift (platform with painter) in the patio and at windows (bedroom and bathroom) starting at 8:00am until 5:00pm for 3 days. On day one I ask management to have them work somewhere else. They said they would, but painters did not move. When I called back, the manager said they would be finished in 1 day, but it continued for 2 more days. Wish there had been honest disclosure about the situation. First half of vacation disrupted, blocked view of ocean and loud; second half when painting actually stopped, much more pleasant. Kitchen much smaller than shown in pictures (disposal didn't work)
