Hi Shelley, We want to thank you for taking the time out of your day to leave us this review, and we are so sorry that your stay here did not meet up to your expectations this year. It really was so great to see you again this year!! : ) This is a beautiful unit that was just updated with new living room furniture, and brand new rugs in the bedrooms. When you notified the office about the cleanliness of the unit we offered to have housekeeping come back up immediately to fix any issue that you had, and you unfortunately declined. The day before you were checking out was the first time that you had told us that you had seen bugs in your unit. You showed us a picture of the bugs that you had seen in the unit, and we thanked you for showing us, and we told you that it looked like termites, We offered to move you to another unit for the last night so that you and your mother could be more comfortable, and you declined stating that you were leaving the next day and you would be fine. We did have a professional come out and resolve the issue, and we want to thank you for bring this to our attention. We did refund you one night as we felt that was fair. Hi Suzanne, We are so sorry to hear that you were disappointed with our check in process. You called asking for an early check in, and we responded saying that check in is at 3, and that the unit would be ready somewhere between 1 and 3. We told you that we would call you as soon as it was ready. We told you to feel free to enjoy the pool and the beach while you were waiting, even providing your family with beach towels. Every unit goes through a very thorough process before we can check any guest in. If it has been unoccupied for any length of time. that is even more of a reason to do a thorough check of the unit before entry. Housekeeping “Spiffs” the unit the day of arrival, maintenance checks the unit to ensure that everything is in working order, and the office checks to ensure that everything is good upon arrival. We never want to rush our check in process because our guests are a priority, and that is the reason why we follow this extensive process. To ensure an early check in, it is ALWAYS best to book the night before, especially if you need an early arrival. There was never a report from you about any cleanliness issues as we would have asked housekeeping to go back into the unit and take care of any issues that you might have had. We never instruct our guests to sweep or clean the unit before departure, we kindly ask guests to put any dirty linens in a pile and run the dishwasher with the provided pods. Housekeeping empties it once it is done. The reason that we have “charcoal grills” is because “gas” can be a fire hazard. This is a safety issue! We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed the time with your family, and the beautiful water, and the location to our beautiful beach. It really is a beautiful location! Happiness is!!
