The Morgan House | Historic Downtown Ocala Retreat

Step back in time while enjoying modern comforts at The Morgan House, a charming apartment in a historic 1892 home named after former Ocala Police Chief Mathew Morgan. Located in Ocala’s historic district, this inviting retreat offers a private entrance, comfortable living spaces, and a fantastic walkable location just minutes from downtown restaurants, shops, bars, and entertainment.

Your Private Suite

This spacious one-bedroom apartment accommodates up to four guests with a queen bed and a queen pullout sofa. The bedroom features an antique armoire, vanity, sound machine, ceiling fan, Smart TV, and extra pillows and blankets. The private bathroom includes a beautiful tiled shower and is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and fresh towels.

Fully Equipped Kitchen

Prepare meals with ease in the full kitchen, complete with a full-size refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and everyday essentials. Enjoy meals at the dining table for four. A stackable washer and dryer, iron, and ironing board are also provided. We even include a small welcome gift of pastries to help start your first morning!

Relax and Unwind

The living room offers a queen sleeper sofa, a chair, an antique desk, and a large Smart TV. Stream your favorite shows using your own login for Hulu, Netflix, Prime Video, and other available apps.

Shared Outdoor Amenities

Enjoy the shared backyard and deck featuring a gas grill, outdoor dining table, seating, and a six-person hot tub. Two bicycles are available for exploring the neighborhood. Please note that outdoor amenities are shared with other guests.

Walk approximately half a mile to the downtown square for dining, shopping, live music, and local events. Enjoy the monthly First Friday Art Walk and Saturday farmers market. We’re also conveniently located about 9 miles from the World Equestrian Center and 5 miles from Silver Springs State Park.

Was any extremely quaint updated 1 bedroom, kitchen and sitting area, bathroom with all the amenities. Baloo (Blue Mastiff) enjoyed the fenced in back yard and daily walks around the neighborhood. Will visit again in the future.

This is our second time staying. The host is super prompt. We love it here. Clean, comfortable and had all the amenities to make our stay enjoyable! Location is so convenient for walking into town, riding trails at Santos and Ross Prairie SP, and hiking and boating at Silver Springs SP.

SUPER COZY AND CUTE! Host thought of everything from little snacks to usb-c outlets by the bed. Patio is fenced in and hot tub was wonderful, the jets did wonders after an 8 hour drive.I highly recommend and we’ll be coming back with friends.I read a review complaining about the parking and lack of garbage. I did not have any problems with those. Parking was extremely easy and straightforward and they have garbage cans in the backyard, it’s just a matter of opening a gate, very simple.

Hi Jill. We could not find garbage cans to dispose of garbage. Also, the assigned parking was very close to branches. I have a new car and my sister was exiting the passenger side. I had to park further back in order not to scratch my car. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Cant say I enjoy the 8 out of 10 rating, most guests ask if they can't find something. As the trash cans are right inside the gate.

The hot tub was hot enough we just added some water so the jets would work. Everything was very clean. The fiberglass shower floor is very slick when soapy even with the rubber mat- a handicap bar would be great. All appliances top notch. Plenty of electronic ucb outlets. JP came to the rescue when we had a sink issue. Maybe have his number handy for emergencies. Will come again soon. Braised Onion and Milano restaurants were great suggestions for dinner.

Very unique historical cottage in downtown Ocala. Close to restaurants. Perfect fenced back yard for doggies that was shared with 3 units. Hot tub was a plus after driving all day. Nice well stocked kitchen and sitting area. Bed was on the soft side and not comfortable for us but maybe be perfect for others. Great for our one night stay.

In a word, amazing. Owners crossed every "T" and dotted every "I" - in terms of amenities and service - so much so, that they included high quality bicycles. You can read about the other amenities. Looking forward to going back again.
