The guest house features two comfortable bedrooms, a beautifully updated bathroom and an open living area designed for relaxing and gathering. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to bake, cook, blend, brew, heat up, and mix. Youâll also have a washer, dryer, and dishwasher. There is a king bed on the first floor, a queen bed on the second, and a pack and play for the little ones. Youâll also find two bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs, complete with shower, bathtub, soaps, shampoo, and hair dryers, so you can enjoy all the convenience and comfort you need during your stay. The house keeps you warm with heating and cool with AC, making it perfect for any season. Plus, there are 3 decks, a fire-pit and an outdoor shower!
Whether youâre relaxing indoors, enjoying the property, or exploring nearby spots, this lovely home offers a wonderful retreat. So, kick back, relax, and enjoy everything West Tisbury and the rest of our island has to offer.
The rural town of West Tisbury is known for its historic character. It includes a farmer's market at the Grange Hall, artisan fair, art galleries, Alley's General Store, Polly Hill arboretum, and much more. Alley's General Store is a treasure with nostalgic allure where you will find everyday necessities to items with vintage appeal as well as island souvenirs. You might enjoy just hanging out on the porch with your favorite beverage, chatting with locals and watching the passerby's. Next door is the sandwich shop, where ingredients are locally grown whenever possible and is open for breakfast and lunch daily.
Cedar Tree Neck Wildlife Sanctuary is a great place for hiking and maybe a refreshing dip at the beach. There are many hiking paths; download "TrailsMV" app for interactive maps of the 220+ trails, 100 of which are on protected property. Lambert's Cove Beach is accessible to West Tisbury residents and renter's only, with a valid beach pass. Secluded scenic beach with views of Vineyard Sound and the Elizabeth Islands. It is accessed by a wooded path away from the hustle and bustle of larger tourist areas. All this just 8 minutes "up-island" from the Vineyard Haven port.
All the different towns of the island are easily accessible by car with short distances. Best to have a car, but the VTA has a great bus system to take you around the island, even carrying your bikes if you like.
Cycling is a great way to enjoy the Vineyard and the 44 miles of scenic bike paths begin off the quiet road without even crossing a street. The house is located right off the bike path and you need not cross any streets to access it, just bike down to the end, make a right on Catboat and cross a short patch of woods onto it.
All in all, this a a great, affordable place to stay where you can enjoy the island quietly if you like, and engage in the hustle and bustle of the busier towns, none of which are far away. Come stay with us at The Skiffs Lane Island House. Book as quick as 1,2,3! (That's our address, by the way!)

Ă propos de lâhĂŽte
HÎte : Marianne Tsikitas
We moved to Marthaâs Vineyard in 1991 and quickly fell in love with the island. Since then, weâve lived and worked here and continue to appreciate what makes this place so special. The Vineyard has a wonderful sense of community and holds meaning for so many people, and weâre happy to share our home with guests who enjoy it as much as we do.
