I wanted to be generous with my 5-star rating because I know ratings can have a big impact on new Vrbo properties trying to get established. However, for those who actually read the reviews, I also want to be transparent.Pros: The unit was very clean, the host was communicative, and the driving distance to all the attractions in Old Orchard Beach was convenient. We've stayed in OOB many times and know the area well.Things to be aware of: The neighborhood can be noisy at times, even by OOB standards. The house directly across the street is not particularly well maintained (it's straight up trashy), so the small front porch isn't the most relaxing place to enjoy your morning coffee, though the backyard area is nicer. The stairs are steep and may not be suitable for older guests. While that's fairly common in OOB and isn't something the host can control, the listing would benefit from a photo of the stairs. Overlal, the pricing should reflect these issues, and it didn't. The unit was priced like most OOB units, but isn't the same league.Things the host could improve: I probably wouldn't describe the unit as "stylish," as that sets expectations a bit higher than the reality. It's basic, but clean. Most of the beds are budget mattresses and weren't especially comfortable. Also, the living room curtains are sheer enough that people can see through them. Since our older family member had to sleep in the living room because of the stairs, that lack of privacy was an issue.
