Clean cozy cabin

We enjoyed our stay in Scaffner Cabin. It was the perfect location for all the hikes that we did in Rocky Mountain National Park. We loved relaxing in the cabin or on the back porch after a long day of hiking. Even had a moose walk through backyard one evening! We would stay here again.

Fall get away

My husband and i, and our extended family stay in Grand Lake several times a year. When it is just Tim and I, we do not need a huge house. This cabin was perfect for us. It was clean and cozy, but not cramped. We had plenty of room when we returned drom our all day long trips.we enjoy the Columbine Lake area. We have stayed here several times. It is removed from tiwn , but close to everything we enjoy doing. It was a great stay, and as always , Grand Mountain Rentals are great hosts.

The burners of the stovetop were absolutely filthy. The shower curtain was moldy and had to be bleached before we could use the downstairs shower. There was flammable items stored on top of the water heater. These items were all brought to the rental management attention. The management company refused to answer or fix.

Poor property management/ great house!

Very nice house but rental/ property management company communication was poor. The house and area are great! We did not receive communication about check-in in a timely manner. I started calling 2 hrs before check-in to see if we could check in by chance early. The management company office where we needed to pick up key was closed for the day. We called all 3 phone numbers left on sign on door ( no communication about being closed for the day prior either), messaged on VRBO many times and finally an hour after the check in time posted, someone called us back (this was an hour after what VRBO said was check-in time) to give us the info of how to get a key to the house. We wasted 3 1/2 hrs of our time on vacation worrying if we even had a place to stay for the next 2 nights since no one would message or call back. After finally getting a call they said it was due to poor internet service. That doesn't make since, we called multiple times with no one calling back for 3 1/2 hrs. Very disappointed to lose our vacation time that would have been spent in Rocky Mnt National Park.

The cabin was a good value and very well decorated and appointed. Peaceful coexistence with wildlife too! A moose grazed next to the cabin one day and a deer the next. Located in a nearby private development but only a 5 minute drive to downtown Grand Lake. Recommended!
