Thank you for the feedback. We appreciate your stay and hope the home exceeded expectations. The home was built at the top of a hill, so it does come with some fun oddities (like the stairs) that we accept with the tradeoff of the views from the new deck. Thank you for the suggestion for the BBQ. It does have a protective cover you put up when BBQ'ing. We will be sure to highlight that for other guests. Hope to host you again!

We will for sure do an addition to our Dinnerware Count...Thanks for bringing this to our attention, overtime, Plates go missing or get broken, so this is something we will address ASAP. I am not sure what your referring to on the Internet or House Information. VRBO has everything listed for our WIFI Codes and Check In/Check Out Instructions. Plus we have laminated Instructions in the home so you can reference them as well (Making it so you don't have to log into the site) Again we appreciate the opportunity to be your host and hope you had a great stay in Bass Lake!!!

Thank you for your review. We have included instructions to the heating/ AC in the rental binder. We have added more rugs to the entry to avoid any slippery places. There are over 6 extra blankets in the house currently, extra pillows and towels. Thank you.

While we appreciate all feedback, we would like to address the statements in this review. All of our reviews have been 5 stars so far, and we pride ourselves in providing a clean, warm, vacation home for all family rentals. The property description clearly states the amount of stairs and the steep driveway. We drive cars, trucks and Uhauls up the drive way on a regular basis. We are very clear about the amount of steps and the incline when reviewing possible rentals with tenants. The walking path to the lake is 1/8 mile from the cabin and takes 10 minutes to arrive at the lake. While we have assumed that the path is clear to all tenants, and has been thus far, we will create a map for future tenants in the event they are unable to find their way. In response to the ant problem mentioned. We have had tenants (all of whom have given us raving reviews) before and after this one. No one has mentioned an ant problem. In fact, the same tenant doing the review did not mention an ant problem when they were there at the cabin. Had they of mentioned it, we would of sent someone to check on it. It is difficult to solve a problem we aren’t aware of nor would expect given others experiences. The Bass Lake HOA association will not allow trash cans outside or on the street, therefore we have outlined our trash policy in the rental information binder available at the home, and communicated it to all tenants when setting up the rental appointment. The assertion that we would instruct someone to do something illegal is untrue and offensive. The rental policy does not state that propane purchases will be reimbursed. There is a given supply and if the renter uses all of it they can purchase additional from the surrounding stores. As for the older son getting stuck in the studio below the main home. Yes that did happen and we did apologize for the inconvenience caused by their son locking himself in the room. We were told that the renter cut the screen in order to retrieve their items. We didn’t minimize the fact that it happened, but we also did not know how to solve the operator error. If someone locks a door behind them, we cannot cause it to open from where we are. All policies are clearly outlined in the rental binder and during the rental process. While we strive to ensure an enjoyable rental we do rely on the renters to read and follow the policies and documentation presented to them. We are very committed to a wonderful experience in our home.

We received a call from this guest after her check out noting a few of the issues above. 1) We have a monthly service that comes out to bait and trap any mice in and around the property. They checked the traps and none were found after there stay. We do everything in our power to prevent mice, but it is a lodge in woods/lake area and they can be expected in any home. 2) The home has a BBQ on the front deck, so not sure why you claim there is not one. 3) Each bed in the home is less than 2 years old. This includes a King in the Master, Upstairs Bedrooms both have Full Sized Beds and the Studio has a Double, Twin Bunk and a Queen. We personally inspected each bed after the stay and found no defects in any of the mattresses. Nor have we had any other complaints from other guests about them. The Deck off the living Room has Deck Chairs for sitting in the sun and relaxing, the guest made the suggestion for a Dining Room or place to eat which we are looking into. The home sits on a hill, which allows for great views, but does require stair access to get into the home. The easiest way is to come in through the garage (Shortest number of stairs to bring items into the home) We appreciate your feedback
