Cantinho da Amália, c’est ainsi que nous appelons notre appartement, car il se trouve à quelques mètres de la maison natale de la célèbre chanteuse de fado Amália Rodrigues. Situé au 4e étage, sous les combles de l’immeuble, il bénéficie d’une lumière naturelle splendide toute la journée et offre une vue magnifique sur le château de São Jorge.
L’ensemble du bâtiment a été entièrement rénové en 2009. L’appartement allie confort moderne (climatisation et chauffage central) et charme romantique, grâce à ses plafonds mansardés.
La salle de bains confortable, la cuisine entièrement équipée et fonctionnelle, ainsi que la décoration contemporaine et raffinée, créent une ambiance chaleureuse et accueillante.
Idéal pour un séjour en couple ou en famille, l’appartement peut accueillir jusqu'à 3 personnes.


We call it Cantinho da Amália because it’s just a few meters from the birthplace of the famous fado singer Amália Rodrigues. Located on the 4th floor and attic of the building, the apartment enjoys beautiful natural light all day long and offers a stunning view of São Jorge Castle.
The entire building was fully renovated in 2009, and the apartment combines modern comforts (central heating and air conditioning) with the romantic charm of sloped ceilings.
You'll find a comfortable bathroom, a fully equipped and functional kitchen, and tasteful, contemporary decor — creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere.
Perfect for a couple or a small family, the apartment accommodates up to 3 guests.

We had the perfect stay. Great location, lots of space to move around and stunning view of the city. Miguel was very fast to respond to my inquiries. Highly recommend staying here and I would stay here again on my next visit.

The host was very welcoming. The place has a great view! It’s got the essential amenities you need. You need to take the stairs to get to the unit but it’s worth it for the views. The place is spacious for 2 people. Also, the location is great for city centre. The host was very prompt in answering questions and providing resolutions when needed. I would recommend this place when travelling to Lisbon

Amazing Stay in the Heart of Lisbon

We had a fantastic stay at this VRBO in Lisbon, Portugal! The location was ideal—just a short walk to great shopping, delicious restaurants, and some of the city’s best sightseeing spots. Check-in was smooth and hassle-free, and our host was incredibly accommodating and thoughtful. The apartment was very clean and offered an amazing view of the city skyline. We truly enjoyed our time here and would gladly stay again on our next trip to Lisbon!

Perfect location, great views!!

This was our first trip to Lisbon and it couldn’t have been better. The location is perfect, within walking distance of the main historic squares. We felt we were living with the locals. Just like everywhere else in the city worth visiting be prepared to walk uphill then four flights of steps at the end so probably not for some, but worth it. The views are spectacular.

Good, basic accommodation. Owner was friendly and responsive. Location is excellent, very central. Lovely view of the city. As previously noted, the stairs and hills would be an issue for anyone with mobility problems. The only downside was that I had to buy all basic food supplies including sugar, salt and pepper...

All in all wonderful

The location is perfect, we did most of the sightseeing by foot. View from the appartment is simply stunning, please be aware that for this you do have to climb (and get down!) steep stairs. Internet connection was awesome. ;) The only issue we had is concerning cleanliness but this was resolved after addressing it. All.in all a great spot to stay for a not too busy week in Lisbon.

Spacious, comfortable apartment in a nice location in Lisbon. Top floor with great views! Very quiet and easy to access the rest of Lisbon. Close to the Metro. Comfortable bed. Fully-equipped kitchen. Everything we needed for five days in Lisbon. Stairs in apartment very steep, so wouldn't be suitable for those that have difficulty walking. Also area of Lisbon is accessed by stairs and steep streets. For us, it was perfect! Host was very responsive and gave us any information we needed. Would recommend this apartment!

Comfortable Apartment in Great Location

Antonio's apartment was quite comfortable - larger than it looks even from the pictures. The views of the Castelo are also grander than any photo can capture. The apartment is in a great location. We walked a lot, but it was also close to public transportation, etc. Antonio was a gracious host. He met us at the airport and gave us many recommendations as he drove us to the apartment, where he had left a cold bottle of water and a couple of pastel de natas for us. It was close to a funicular that we used a couple of times, but, walking to the apartment building and then up to the apartment on the top floor was a bit of a climb. As Antonio said, the view is the reward for the climb, but, be aware that the climb is steep and the building has no elevator. If you stay at this aprtment, make sure that you check out Bonjardim for chicken and Fabrica for coffee.

Nice apartment, but...

The apartment was a nice size, very bright, good views, good washer/dryer, very comfortable bed and nice shower pressure. Unfortunately, the neighborhood was extremely disappointing - rundown and lacking of any amenities. The stairs to the apartment (particularly after the long trek up the hill to the building), were ridiculously steep and narrow and dissuaded us from wanting to go there more than once a day (and we're healthy, in shape adults). Our biggest issue was that we were told that we could not put any toilet tissue in the toilet but had to use the small trash can in the bathroom. Not only was this extremely off-putting, but we felt it was very unsanitary. I can understand not putting tampons, tissues, baby wipes, but toilet paper! That set a very negative tone for our stay.

Berenice, thank you for recognizing the high standers of the hygiene of my apartment, it's comfortable bed and quality bedding, it's shower with good water pressure, that the air conditioning is a plus, and that washer/dryer is quite useful and that works well. All this with fantastic views and at a very central location, just 5 minutes walk from 2 metro stations in the heart of the historic area, and 7 minutes from Avenida da Liberdade, where you can find all kinds of luxury brands. The advertisement is clear about its location in the historic area of Lisbon where most of the buildings do not have an elevator, where the stairs are narrow (especially by North American standards), and the hills are steep. I regret that we were not clear enough to inform you that guests should not put anything in the toilet, except for toilet paper. I was disappointed with your rating which will negatively affect my listing and which was largely due to your perception of the surrounding areas, which curiously, are appreciated by other guests for being so genuine.

Great clean apt on the back of Rossio/Martim Moniz

If Antonio offer you the option for an airport pickup, take it. Otherwise, you best make sure your navigational skill & googlemap (which is always a block or two off even with GPS) is on point. Getting there the first time is definitely a bigger challenge than the map tells you but here's a hint, if you see A Tigelinha resto/take away place, its the street behind that where you will actually see the house # (60) that you won't see on the street that Tigelinha is on. I got off at Martim Moniz & after 3 or 4 flights of stairs that places on you Calcada Santana -- this is better than if you got off at Rossio & then having to go uphill through the winding cobblestoned streets. But once you get there (after 4 flights of narrow stairs), the apt is absolutely a gem. Plus Antonio has a big bottle of water + pasteis de nata waiting for you at the apt. The bed is super comfy & big (King ?) & both bedroom & livingroom are equipped with AC so when you get back to the apt after such a strenuous exercise everyday you can keep cool. I didn't use it more than 10 minutes really since its very well ventilated with the windows open (2 in the bedroom) & a big windows in the livingroom. It gets very sunny in the AM & that's always a good thing after you do your washing & your clothes are easily dry by the AM. You shd also take note of Antonio's recommendations for restos (I didn't care for the ones from other travellers -- Solar 31 in particular was just meh) but A Tigelinha was where I had a few of my meals when I didn't want a full sit-down meal & the folks there are super friendly + just make honest good food. The proximity to Rossio is a definite plus as you can take evening strolls around & down to Elevador Justa & walk around Praca de Figueira. Sure if you want to dine with all the tourists near there, go for it, but Antonio's reco's are much more interesting & I was not disappointed after we dined at Ze da Mouraria 2. Overall, highly recommend the place (provided you can deal with the 4 flts of stairs daily up/down)

Lisbonne dans le cartier de Mouraria

Nous avons séjourné 3 jours dans le logement qui est confortable. Comme le logement n’était pas prêt malgré notre arrivée tardive, nous ne pouvons pas donner une note parfaite pour l’acceuil car cela ne serait pas équitable. La personne responsable a cependant fait les efforts pour rectifier la situation. Le logement est confortable et permet une vue superbe sur le quartier de Garcia.Cependant, l’accès au logement requiert une marche en pente raide et 50 marches pour accéder au logement par la suite. Ce détail est à considérer si vous avez des limitations physiques.

Heureusement, nos procédures garantissent toujours une propreté et un rangement impeccables afin que nos clients se sentent bien et comme chez eux. Concernant l’accès, nous précisons effectivement qu’il y a une montée et des marches, mais nous comprenons que cela puisse représenter une contrainte pour certaines personnes. Très bel appartement

Très bien accueillis par Antonio, cet hôte prends le temps de nous donner des conseils de visite dans la ville et est très disponible. L’appartement est très spacieux avec une décoration et des équipements modernes, la vue est à couper le souffle. Nous avons passés un merveilleux séjour.

Appartement propre mais très petit. 4 personnes ne peuvent pas être confortables dans cet appartement. Situé dans un secteur pauvre de Lisbonne. Appartement difficile d'accès: rue en pente abrupte; et 4 étages d'escaliers à monter.

Vous étais seulement deux personne et les 50m2 sont plus que suffisant pour un couple, même s'ils ont 2 enfants mais je comprend que ça dépend beaucoup avec les coutures. Dans les quartiers historiques et typiques de Lisbonne, la plupart des bâtiments n'ont pas d'ascenseur mais la compensation est la vue magnifique sur la ville, le calme du quartier, le lit avec matelas et draps confortables, la climatisation, le chauffage central et le rapport qualité-prix de cet appartement.

super logement, très bien situé

l'appartement d'Antonio est très bien situé, quartier Rossio, centre ville, avec plein de commerces et de petits restaurants tout proches. Il y a une très belle vue sur Lisbonne depuis la pièce-séjour. Il y a tout le confort dans l'appartement et c'est aussi très calme, très reposant. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour d'autant plus qu'Antonio nous avait super bien accueillis en prenant du temps pour nous renseigner longuement sur les sites et curiosités qu'il était indispensable de visiter dans Lisbonne et même en dehors. Nous avons pu ainsi aller passer en train une journée à SINTRA ; la gare est à 5 mn à pied du logement d'Antonio. Vraiment une semaine très agréable à Lisbonne dans un appartement que nous recommandons à chacun.

J'aime rencontrer des gens et créer des liens.
J'aime les jours de soleil de la mer, la bonne nourriture, le bon vin et la bonne vie.

In the past I was Deck Officer in the Merchant Marine. Maybe this explains my passion for travelling and for the diversity of cultures.
Today I am a photographer of 360 degrees panoramas and whenever I can, I travel.
I love to meet people and to create bonds.
I like the sea and sunshiny days, good food, good wine and good living.
