La première maison à poteaux et poutres entaillés et chevillés a été construite
de l'épinette de Stika locale à Homer .. Se trouve à 1000 pieds au-dessus de la baie de Kachemak et de Cook Inlet offrant une vue magnifique sur 6 acres. La maison est de 1600 pieds carrés avec des ponts de 600 pieds carrés. Belles caractéristiques à l'intérieur, y compris un escalier en saule diamant, une salle de bain rénovée, une cuisine personnalisée, de grandes fenêtres. Poêle à bois, grand vieux piano droit et premier moulin à vent d'Homère. Très bon puits d'eau profonde .. Grands jardins organiques et pelouses autour de la propriété .. Beautiful spot!

This house is in a beautiful spot and just a few miles from Homer. Hosts are close to the property and always available to help and answer questions. We had a fantastic time there.

Home away from home!

Our family of three plus two in-laws stayed here for 10 days and it was truly wonderful! Deborah and Michael are great hosts, there when you have a question but we always felt we had complete privacy. The home is very comfortable and cozy, with lots of character. You will not be disappointed if you book this house!

This is a lovely sturdy nail free wood beam home, with comfortable sitting and dining spaces, beautiful flower gardens and awesome views of snow capped mountains. Natural light illuminates the kitchen, it has a comfortable feel, the stove is great (as is the gas grill), the coffee organic, and I haven’t forgotten how to wash my dishes. Check in was a breeze. Our hosts were warmhearted folk and readily available when we had a question. We found their recommendations on hikes and local activities helpful. We slept well and enjoyed our stay.

Supreme Homer home

If you did nothing in Homer but hang out at this charming home and beautiful grounds you would be happy. The house is comfortable, kitchen is well suited, beds are comfy and the views are outstanding. You can see dramatic mountains in the distance while sitting on the deck which is surrounded by flowers. It’s private, it’s perfect, don’t miss it!

Beautiful and quiet

My family stayed at this wonderful spot for 3 days. The house is unique and cozy with two wonderful bedrooms and another make shift bedroom all located on the upper floor. We had most of our meals outside because the weather was warm and sunny. We also had cranes that walked around the yard the whole time of our visit. The grounds are beautiful this time of year with flowers blooming everywhere including fireweed all over Dimond Ridge and Homer. The home is older and well used but that's the charm and I would rather stay there than a pristine place with no spirit.

A month in Pardice

Our Host was warm and very helpful. The home was everything you would want for an Alaskan get away. Well stocked with all the need for a home away fromhome. Great size for couple or a family. Near hiking trails, close to town and easy access from main roads. The only down side is Homer is downhill from lodging. Good thing I came in summer. Wouldn't look forward to driving the hills in Winter. Highly recommend.

Paradise on Diamond Ridge

The property owners were there to greet us when we arrived. They left very helpful notes as well as shared information about local sites to see. The house itself is beautifully built and very clean. The kitchen was well-stocked and easy to work in. The view from the amazing back deck is the best part of the property. We spent the majority of our time at the house on the back deck watching the wildlife and the spectacular scenery.

Excellent relaxing getaway

The setting was exactly what we wanted. It is a few minutes from town on Diamond Ridge with a scenic overlook toward Kachemac Bay and the mountains beyond. We preferred the quiet solitude over the tourist district. All the activities are a short drive away. The cabin is clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed. It’s a bit dated but that is part of its charm. It was like taking a step back in time, except they have WiFi and a good cell signal when we needed it. We completely enjoyed our stay. My only suggestion is for the owner to email detailed arrival directions. We connected by phone and all was good but an advance printable email would be best. Thanks for the excellent hospitality!

Great stay in Homer

This home was so lovely and comfortable from the moment you walked in. The spruce beams, trailing vine plants, and breathtaking views made it inviting and charming. It made us want to stay more, and we did. We ended up tacking on an extra night before driving back to ANC. The beds were very comfortable and our 4 year old had a great time exploring the house. We also had our 3 month old baby. The house had plenty of room for all of us. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

Serene getaway, short hike to a quiet beach

Deborah and Michael were prompt in responding to my last-minute request to book, welcomed us and were very respectful of our privacy...we hardly noticed them coming and going but when we did see them, we were greeted warmly and offered great tips on how to find a nearby beach that was just a short hike (.6 miles) in and back, easy to do with a toddler on a warm, dry day (and nearly impossible when muddy, lots of slippery slopes). We went during low tide and got to see sea stars, snails, and other critters. The home is beautiful -- Sitka spruce wood -- and tastefully decorated with antique furniture, houseplants, and items from Thailand and other places. My favorite was the Tibetan singing bowl, which I used while doing yoga on the porch (there was a yoga mat there next to the piano). I thoroughly enjoyed tinkering on the Martin piano, and I used the tonga drum upstairs to engage my son in a little rhythmic play. The staircase has charming wooden beams. I had to block the stairs to keep the little one from running around up there, as it wasn't safe, but an appropriately supervised child would do fine there, as ours did. He loved the little nook closet upstairs that was just his size and had a little drum in it. :) It was the perfect calm-down spot. There was plenty of space to fit his pack-n-play and lots of closet space and dressers. The beds were comfortable, loads of pillows and optional layers for any weather. The bathrooms worked well, hot water and good pressure, so whatever previous reviewers have complained about seem to have been fixed. There is a tub upstairs which worked well for the little guy and the downstairs shower even has a low faucet for washing sandy feet after a day exploring the beaches. Washer and dryer were a lovely bonus. Kitchen was well stocked. The location is perfect, just far enough out of town to enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature and the beautiful ocean/glacier views from the upstairs bedroom window but close enough to get to the spit in about 15-20 minutes. We saw the friendly neighborhood moose, which they have dubbed "Fernando" who nibbled on a rose bush for a while so my toddler could have a close-up show from inside the house. There are lots of windows providing plenty of sunlight, and a ceiling fan upstairs. There's a fire pit, a swing, and a horse-shoe pit which we didn't use much but looked like fun on a cooler weekend (fire ban right now). We were sad to leave, felt at home there, will return!

Loved it!

We loved the home with all its beautiful wood beams! The view and big yard with cranes and moose was spectacular.The beds were comfy,kitchen well equipped and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Close to Homer town but far enough away to have peace and quiet!

Would stay here again!

Only 15 minutes too the Homer Spit, great views, loved watching the wild life that would come by and uniqueness of the home. Plenty of room and very clean. No problem booking and the owners very easy to work with. Totally recommend this home!

Stunning s, visiting sand hill cranes, and

Stunning vista and yard & deck, with flowers, visiting sand hill cranes, and a spot for roasting marshmallows. Inside, the home was open, well-maintained, and full of beautiful objects and art. Wouldn't be ideal for very young kids, but our family of four (with a 7 and an 11year old) couldn't have been happier. We loved our retreat, aptly named Heavenly Ridge!

Not fun

Deborah and her husband were nice at times but made my stay very uncomfortable. They stay in a camper trailer on the property and view everything!!! I would receive text messages often that I was doing something wrong. It was silly things like, take your boots off, don't use dryer sheets, don't clean your fish here. I would have felt much more comfortable if I did not feel like I was constantly being watched and judged. Also, when I asked what I should do with my trash I was told to take it to the dump. Also, the upstairs bathroom does not have a curtain and the neighbors upstairs often times got more of a "view" than they had bargained for. But, the house is beautiful and it has an awesome yard and a breathtaking view. Overall, I probably won't rent this again.

Hello,It is not our policy to be safeguarding our home,but when we look out and see a person running with flames,it's alarming! Apparently,Tosha burned the utensils in our brand new grill because she didn't open it before lighting it.When we went over to check out the situation,,her husband was rude to us.They paid for 3 but had a child we weren't told about and there were often extra people around.I felt we had to ask them about the boots as they were cleaning fish right outside our porch which left flies for days. We go out of our way to accommodate yet give folks their privacy but we were very uncomfortable with these folks in our home! I would not recommend them as guests even though they did leave the house fairly clean except for finding lots of candy in the dryer and rug! Had Tosha mentioned the curtain,we would have remedied the situation.The husband told us that they had a lot of garbage and asked where the dump was so we told them where it was.Otherwise,we always take care of the garbage.We would never just tell folks to take their garbage to the dump!Virtually,everyone who has rented our home has loved it so I am sorry that Tosha wasn't able to.

Beautiful Homer!

All in all, a good stay at this modest home. Beautiful views of the bay, and lots of flowers on the property. A moose walked onto property our last night at about 830pm which was fantastic! The house has a nice downstairs. The updstairs bathroom was basically off limits due to malfunctioning toilet, so essentially this is a one bathroom home. The water quality out of the faucet was great. The home kitchen lacked the full essentials of cooking utensils.

We are a 2 bathroom home.The upstairs bathroom had a low flush toilet which needed to have extra water put in to flush fully.A container was provided but due to the confusion around using it,we have replaced it with an ordinary toilet that flushes properly.The kitchen is provided with pots and pans and all the dishes and utensils needed but will go through my inventory again and make sure that nothing was removed and all is provided.Thank you,Deborah

Home in Homer

Mike and deb's home on Heavenly Ridge, was indeed, heavenly. The views from the house are spectacular...Homer and the Spit in the distance, the expanse of the bay with the mountains and glaciers...breath-taking! Flowers abound everywhere...very serene and quiet. The house and amenities were clean, the only draw-back was the upstairs bathroom; the shower really isn't usable, and the toilet is marginal. I would list the house as a two bedroom, one bath.

Thank you for your review.We have replaced the toilet and will have the shower upstairs fully functioning for our future guests.We assumed that the downstairs bathroom,being newly renovated with beautiful custom tile work would be used for showers and the upstairs bathtub would be used for baths only but have found the need for another available shower so will have that installed.Thanks,Deborah

Lovely Homer Property

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home. The view of ocean and mountains is spectacular. Deborah and Michael were very welcoming. The house is their year-round home, so it is well stocked with appliances, utensils, washer/dryer, grill etc. The house was very clean, and the beds were very comfortable. It has a lovely wrap-around patio great for meals or just enjoying the view. The yard was very well maintained and full of blooming flowers. We will definitely stay there again during our next visit to Homer.
