Propriété d'époque dans la campagne idyllique du Devon rural près de Dartmoor, pour 10 personnes

La ferme est située dans la pittoresque campagne rurale du Devon, entourée de collines vallonnées et offrant de superbes promenades à la fois sur la propriété et comme base idéale pour explorer les environs. Approché par un long trajet, la propriété d'époque est située dans une position élevée au sein d'une ferme de moutons en activité avec plus de 180 acres de pâturages. L'ancienne ferme peut accueillir jusqu'à 10 personnes dans cinq chambres avec deux salles de bains séparées et 1 salle de bains et est la base idéale pour des vacances reposantes avec la famille et les amis.

Il y a une grande cuisine-salle à manger moderne avec une grande cuisinière et une buanderie attenante, ainsi que deux salles de réception.

L'extérieur de la propriété est un jardin privé avec banquette et terrasse séparée. La ferme est située dans une position élevée avec une vue imprenable sur la ville d'Exeter la nuit, Dartmoor et la vallée de Teign. La marche est un incontournable avec des tonnes d'oiseaux et de la faune locale à repérer lors de votre visite, n'oubliez pas d'apporter vos bottes en hiver! Nous avons des sentiers pédestres sur 180 acres de ferme et de bois. Les chiens sont acceptés sur accord préalable.

La ferme en fait un merveilleux séjour de groupe avec une ambiance familiale détendue.

Great house for our multi generational holiday. Plenty of room for eating, relaxing and play. The two dogs Jet and Callie were so friendly and the grand boys loved being taken for a walk. We had a lovely week in this idyllic place with lots of days out and fun. Thanks for letting us use the bbq.

Lovely property in a superb location with fabulous views. Whilst rural it is only 2 minutes to the A30 giving easy access both to Exeter and Dartmoor. The property is well equipped with ample space for 10 guests. There is a large enclosed garden and also access to walks across the large farmland. Would strongly recommend.

Family Christmas

The house was perfect for our extended family. The bedrooms were well presented and the kitchen was good although using the range stove took some working out. Both reception rooms were very comfortable and all said it was a very enjoyable stay.

A warm welcome

The host did everything possible to give us a good stay in this old farmhouse during a wet and cold period of July. We had heating and the beauty of fresh flowers in the house.

Lovely country farmhouse.My family had a wonderful celebration here over the weekend. Plenty of space and parking for everyone. Facilities really good. 2 fridges and a good freezer and a separate utility area with a washing machine. Large dining table and 2 amazing sitting rooms. Bedrooms large and comfortable. We found a room with board games later on in the stay and will remember from r next time!

Wonderful stay at Down House!

We had a lovely week staying at Down House with family. Barbara and Jeremy were such welcoming hosts and were only too happy to chat to us about their life on the farm. We even got to bottle feed some of the lambs, which was very special! Exeter was a 20 minute drive away which was perfect as we were there for my son’s graduation ceremony from the university there. It was the perfect house for our family holiday and I hope we go back there again sometime!

Special memories

The property was perfect for our needs. Well presented and beautifully situated in a little slice of paradise. The hosts on site were wonderful. We had a superb holiday. There is so much to see and do in the area. The only challenge we had was how to balance going out and about, with staying put in the cool, calm, quiet of house and farm. Thank you.

Wedding weekend

We had a great few days here for our daughter’s wedding in Exeter. The rooms were spacious and provided plenty of room for bridesmaids and bride to get ready. The large kitchen table was great for 10 of us to sit at and lovely comfy lounges with log burners were cosy in the evening. Barbara was super helpful in explaining everything.

Lovely house in a beautiful area

We had a wonderful time staying here, there is lots to do in the area and as national trust members there are plenty of houses and gardens to visit. The house is very large and unlike one to two places we have stayed it is plenty large enough for all nine of us to get around without being under each others feet. The property is lovely and the location is stunning with great views and plenty of room for the children to run around and make lots of noise without worrying about upsetting anyone. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful during our stay and even after we left.

Get away from it all

Down House Farm is a working sheep farm set in the beautiful Devon countryside. The gardens and views are lovely, there are wonderful walks in the fields, and if you are lucky you just might get a chance to feed a baby lamb! Barbara is a wonderful host and did everything she could to help us enjoy our stay. There is a golf course lol just a mile away and pubs and restaurants nearby, but we mostly just enjoyed the peaceful countryside.

Peaceful stay

We had a lovely 4 night stay at the farm house. It's in an idyllic location, quiet but close enough to many places for days out and walks. The house is large and spacious with everything that you would need and suited our family of 10.The gardens are beautiful and the children loved exploring, visiting the sheep in the fields and feeding the lambs.We feel the house would benefit from a little tlc but it didn't ruin our stay, it's part of the old house charm.The hosts were really nice, very responsive and helped as much as they could. We would love to stay again, our trip went far too quickly.

Great Christmas in Devon

Party of 6 adults and 4 children stayed at the house for Christmas 2021. Plenty of room for everyone with the chance to go for long walks across the farm. Hosts very welcoming and the property manager very helpful. Log burners in both living rooms great to gather round in the evening and the children enjoyed the daily log gathering from the barn! Keep in mind there are no local facilities so a car is needed if there is any shopping to do but the peace and quiet and the lovely views more than makes up for this minor inconvenience. A stay at the house is thoroughly recommended.

The property was warm and welcoming, as were Taryn and Barbara.

We rented Down House for a long weekend family get together. Taryn and Barbara were helpful from the start of the booking right until we left the house. The house itself was a little difficult to find in the dark, but we managed, as Taryn mentioned sat nav's don't find it. But old fashioned maps work! Maybe a brighter sign on the lane? The house itself was very roomy and in total we had 13 (11adults &2 children) staying, after an arrangement with Taryn. The kitchen was large enough to seat us all, it would be useful to have some more kitchen equipment such as baking trays, bowls for serving etc, there was however plenty of crockery, mugs and cutlery. We had a great stay, just a shame not for longer as we didn't have time to walk around the countryside from the house. Hopefully we will get another chance to visit and for longer next time. Thanks to you both.

We had a wonderful weekend staying in this delightful propertyThe property is very well equipped with everything you need, the rooms are airy and spacious and the surrounding gardens were well maintained Our hosts Jeremy and Barbara were very welcoming and the check in and check out were very easy All rooms were spotless and we were provided with plenty of towels The location is perfect , beautiful country views but only a short drive away from Exeter city Would highly recommend this property
