Comfy, cosy and central

Great position in Penzance - easy to catch buses and trains to other Cornish towns. Penzance itself is not a very attractive town

We are pleased Lesleigh & Laurance found Abbey Stables to be a great place to explore the delights of West Cornwall. Whilst Penzance does not pretend to be London, Oxford or Bath, it does have its own discrete charm, with Regency, Art Deco and traditional granite buildings. It radiates the authentic feel of a Cornish maritime town, with the seafront, art galleries and great restaurants lying within easy walking distance.

It was a great location.really nice building and quiet.the neighbours friendly too.lovely character .great bus and train service 5minutes walk.town 5minutes.

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay at Abbey Stables. The location is perfect for accessing the harbour, bus and train station and shops, yet everyone always comments how peaceful it is. Thanks for staying!

Penzance 2022

Arrived in pouring rain and had real difficulty seeing the lock box and the numbers. Parking was an absolute nightmare. We have a small Lexus but you need to take a tape measure to park as required. Frankly it is not appropriate to say parking works for fairly small cars. It is so difficult to get in. The accommodation is fine and there was a nice welcome pack. Owners had no advice re disposal of rubbish and it felt like we were the first people to deal with the recycling in weeks. On balance I think the cottage is overpriced. The bedding is just about ok although the blanket needs to be removed. It is a well equipped kitchen and we had a good holiday but I wouldn’t return to that cottage.

We are pleased Jo had a good holiday, despite the pouring rain, that seems to have complicated her arrival. Also that she found the cottage was well equipped. Parking is at a premium in Penzance and St Ives and people do need to be confident about manoevering in confined spaces. However 95% of our guests have had no problem with a Golf sized car. Unfortunately it appears she overlooked the rubbish and recycling instructions in the cottage welcome pack and indeed the location of the key safe, which was fixed with a phone call on arrival

Nice Place

We stayed for 10 days and overall enjoyed the house. We did have a few issues, however. The internet connection was terrible (the owners were helpful; hopefully they’ve upgraded by now). We stayed in winter when it was hard to open windows and air out the flat. Unfortunately for us, this meant we lived with a strong musty smell throughout our stay. The trick for getting hot water in the shower was to just barely turn on the water. The pressure was reduced but at least the water was hot. The shower drain backed up. Parking is not the issue; the difficulty is turning from a narrow lane into an even narrower close and vice versa. OK, those were our complaints, but the quiet courtyard & proximity to shopping were amazing, the house was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the lounge & kitchen were open & well fitted, and the bath was spacious. Overall, a good stay.

We are pleased Steve & his wife enjoyed a "good stay" and found the courtyard quiet and the proximity to all facilities "amazing" and awarded Abbey Stables 5 stars. The internet download speed is good , but not the upload. We are presently changing internet suppliers to fix this. The hot water flow has been limited by the freezing water supply during winter and will now go up as temperatures rise. All the main windows have been checked and these can now be opened. We are fortunate to have parking, a rare commodity in Cornwall, especially urban areas, however it is important to adhere to the parking width limitation ( Golf sized or smaller), which Steve unfortunately did not, which made the parking more challenging..

Abbey Stables was charming, comfortable, well equipped, and well located for exploring Penzance and the Cornwall coast. We would certainly return.

Absolutely beautiful cottage immaculate through out

Penzance is a beautiful part of Cornwall and staying in comfortably accommodation just makes it perfect

Nice place

Abbey Stables - both the apartment and the courtyard are very quiet and it felt really as home. Penzance is a very good place to travel around without a car needed. Bus, train and boat on walking distance. Good bicycle hire.
