Great location and place to stay for visiting city
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was very close to all the family friendly attractions, food, and to the hospitals in town. The house was exactly as described and very well equipped with all the essentials needed. The single car garage was a huge plus to store our car in when there was no parking available on the street. The neighborhood was quiet and very family friendly. Marlene was quick to respond to any questions I had. A couple of reasons for the 4 stars instead of 5. I feel the additional insurance you are forced to pay should be stated up front prior to accepting/paying for it. Also, the back bedroom was very drafty and cold, especially when the temperatures outside were below 40 degrees. I believe this was due to the window air conditioner being left in the bedroom window causing outside air to come in. We used a blanket to cover and block the cold air from coming in. It seemed to work for the 2 nights we needed it. Please note, we did have the heat on and up but it did not seem to help with the amount of cold air leaking in.

Location, location, location!
Older apartment located at the southwest corner of Forest Park and a block away from I64. Was only 15-20 minutes to downtown. The apartment was well furnished and full of unique decor. The garage was a real plus. The stairs didn't have good railings and had two turns in them so not for everyone. Lots of space. Kitchen well equipped. Worked really well for us!

Clean and cool vintage feel!
Loved everything about the experience, except the deposit which is $5,000!! We did get the full deposit refunded after our stay but it really requires a leap of faith to hand over that kind of money to someone you don't know.

I have to say that I really love the building and it’s location to so many popular places in St. Lou
My visit to St. Louis, my home town and my stay at Marlene’s property was perfect. I love the feel of the apartment and the old architecture. So much nicer than staying in a hotel room. Sitting out on the porch and watching the neighborhood was very relaxing.

Charming, historic, Craftsmen
This house was not only charming, but was the perfect location, as it was in safe neighborhood with very close proximity to downtown. The owner left everything needed for our stay and was very accommodating and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend staying at this historic gem!

Very nice apartment with an excellent location to Forest Park, freeways etc.
We spent a week here the place was very good size and nice. When we got there a remote was missing and Marlene went out of her way to replace the Roku. Marlene was very helpful. The kitchen was well stocked. The washer and dryer were all new and worked great. There was also a garage that we used, worked out well. Only thing we would have liked different is to have the TV in the living area instead of a bed room. Internet worked great. Weather was very mild upper 60s and 80s the Air Conditioners worked very well.
All in all we had a great time there. Will go back next year if available.

Cure place. Great value. Clean!
It was warm outside during our stay, and it was challenging to get the inside temp consistent. Otherwise, no complaints. Our hostess was so kind to bring an iron right over when I mentioned it. Great location--near zoo and Wash U.

Beautiful Upstairs Flat near Forest Park
This property is a private large five-room flat in a two-flat, brick residence and is located on the second floor. It is clean and air conditioned. It sleeps three people comfortably (two in the queen and one in the twin), but can accommodate at least two more by using the air mattress and futon that are also available. There was plenty of extra bedding. This property has beautiful hardwood floors and a fully equipped kitchen. You can bring half as many clothes because there is a washer/dryer in the basement that is accessed directly from the flat by way of a separate stairwell. There was even a one-car garage with a remote! Marlene, the hostess is extremely welcoming and accommodating. She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. I felt safe in the neighborhood. There are many nearby attractions. You should be sure to head to Forest Park where you can enjoy the great St. Louis zoo (it's free!), the Muny opera, the art museum, or a picnic. This property is conveniently located with easy access to Hwy. 44. The Arch is about 15 minutes away. I would recommend this property to friends and relatives.

Great apartment
Marlene met us on the way in and brought us a small bbq grill to use in the back yard while we were visiting. We have a three year old so eating dinner out after a day at the zoo or the pool can be a mess - we cooked in for dinner every night! The kitchen had anything we needed and we had brought a fan from home so we helped to vent some heat out through an open window on the porch. The apartment is historic so the stairs are steep and narrow - cautious with the little ones and laundry from the basement! The furniture matches the period of the apartment too but was comfy. The apartment uses window units for AC and we were able to coordinate them to keep everyone comfortable. We were close to the zoo and Shaw park. The location was very good. We were able to go to the Arch or Grant's farm and come back for nap time and take back off in the afternoon. The only TV is in the master bedroom. But my daughter was able to watch cartoons and her movies through Amazon Prime and thought it was cool to play on the bed too! The second bedroom is perfect for a child - a twin bed and desk. The apartment is priced well for the space and location. We had a great trip!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay, it was a wonderful apartment with all the amenities. The owner was very accommodating. We stayed over the 4th of July and were able to walk to all the festivities, including the zoo. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Wonderful stay at a walk up flat in Dogtown
Marlene has a wonderful walk up duplex in a quiet, yet strategically located property 5 minutes from Washington University, the zoo/Forest Park area and the lovely Demun area replete with kitchsy bars, restaurants, cinemas and shopping. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen cooking facilities totally adequate for me and my 20 year old daughter. The flat was clean and well maintained, and I loved having access to a garage with opener. She quickly addressed an issue we experienced trying to use Netflix. All in all a great VRBO owned by a kind and attentive hostess.
