Steps to the Beach, Park, Shops & Restaurants At 18th St DEL MAR BEACH COLONY

This smartly furnished two-story town home is located within a gated complex and is ideally situated across from the fabulous Del Mar beach. The unit itself has been updated with new flooring and custom shutters throughout. Each bedroom has an en suite full bathroom, with a sun-filled balcony off the master bedroom that is perfect for your morning coffee.

The other upstairs guest bedroom is furnished with kids in mind and features a bunk bed with a twin bed and full size bed, some toys, books and board games (including a secret play kitchen in the closet!).

The downstairs bedroom has a Queen bed and en suite bathroom. You'll find a fully stocked and well-organized kitchen! The large front patio are is private and includes a dining area. We also supply 2 boogie boards, chairs, a wagon, umbrella and a cooler. Two dedicated parking spots in the underground garage making parking a breeze!

Everyone loves the location--literally steps to the beach as well as to downtown Del Mar with its adorable shops and wonderful restaurants. For families with little ones, Powerhouse Park is just up the hill and features a playground with the best views around! Race fans will love the easy access to the famous Del Mar Racetrack. Likewise, great hikes and golf can be found in nearby Torrey Pines. Or just stay in the complex and enjoy the pool and heated jacuzzi! Please note that there are train tracks nearby and the Amtrak Coaster runs regularly.

Best rental we have stayed at. Easy directions and everything labeled expertly. Kids appreciated all the games and toys. Had a hiccup the first night and the property manager answered our call right away and made everything right. We will be staying here again!

Best spot in Del Mar!

From the underground garage spaces to the 1 minute walk to Del Mar’s lovely beaches, this home can provide an ideal vacation. We easily walked to 6 or 7 restaurants. The patio space was terrific for getting that wonderful ocean breeze. The description was accurate, which is key. This is a home to come back to!

Perfect Beach Getaway

The property was in immaculate, shape, and fully stocked with everything that you’ll need. There were even toys for the kids and a great amount of beach items (chairs, towels, wagon, etc.). The decor of the place is light and bright and very cozy. The location is hard to beat! We’ll definitely look at booking this one again next time we’re back in California.

Perfect beach getaway

Great location, lovely unit with plenty of space for our family of five. Beach gear was provided. Walk to beach was less than three minutes. We could hear the waves at night. Well appointed, comfy beds, snacks were a nice bonus! Highly recommend.

Ideal location !

We recently stayed at this home for a couple weeks. It's right across from the beach and an easy walk to the village of Del Mar. Nina, the manager, is outstanding. She made everything go smoothly & she really cares! The home is comfortable and extremely well stocked for families. Might be a bit too well stocked not leaving room for renters food items in the kitchen, and closets a bit too full. Other than that, we had a great stay. Another perk is the unground parking garage with 2 spaces. Parking is difficult close to the beach so having dedicated parking was ideal ! Don't hesitate to rent this home!

Coast Del Mar

This is an absolutely wonderful condo! Everything is up to date, it's obvious it has been redone recently. It is very quiet and the sunshine streams in. It has everything you need for a short or long term stay. The kitchen is stocked with all of the basics. Included are beach chairs, umbrella and boogie boards in the storage cupboard in the garage. Beach is basically across the street, Jake's and Poseidon Restaurants super close, and a ten minute walk to Del Mar Village proper. Nina was a huge help in getting this unit booked for us and answered all questions very promptly. We will definitely stay here again!

Best Place Ever!!!

This place is the best and has every detail. Nina, the host, is fantastic. Everything is perfect. Close to the beach, cozy, soft beds, extra towels, a stationary bike which I loved and used frequency, snacks and pops/water waiting for us. Everything was perfect. Parking in a underground garage. I just cannot say enough great things about this place. We loved it. Comfortable furniture, TVs in every bedroom. I could go on and on. I highly recommend Nina and the place. Perfect stay within walking distance to beach

This renovated condo is lovely and clean, with updated decor and everything we needed to cook in the kitchen. The owners thought of everything, from mask hangers in the entry, to bedside clocks with USB ports and quality linens and towels. They had umbrellas, chairs, boogie boards, skim board, beach towels and sand toys, including long-handled sand shovels for dig-happy kids. Lots of interesting books to read for both kids and adults. Great outdoor patio, and a short walk to the beach. Train noise was minimal during dinner on the outside patio (and even an event for the kids to run and try to see), and we didn't need to use the sound machines in the bedrooms at all. Nina was so helpful in every way, and we will definitely book again.

Clean and Close to Beach/Restaurants/Park

We stayed at this townhouse over spring break. It is very clean and decor is well done. Would love a few more new nonstick pans for cooking. For a family of 5, it was a tad bit small for our liking but can’t really complain when you are SO close to the beach! The complex is slightly run down in my opinion and the community pool was nice but hot tub had a ton of sand in it and needed to be cleaned. We walked to dinner very easily and Jake’s is across the street and is awesome! We had a few snafus with receiving the entry code email and contacted Nina on our way from the airport. Apparently the email was never sent. ??? Thankfully Nina was easily reachable and we got the info we needed. The management company left us a CA cutting board which was a nice touch! Overall a very good VRBO.

Great condo in beautiful Del Mar

My family (husband, teen daughter and 8 year old son) stayed at this lovely condo in Del Mar. the condo was reall well outfitted. The kitchen has everything needed to cook (including all of the things like spices that you don’t want to pack for home). There was little shelf of leave-a-book-take-a-book options (so nice ). There were lots of beach supplies. The beds were comfy. There were extra blankets for the couch on a chilly night. And it was a brag set up for our family with three bedrooms and bathrooms. The location was also amazing — an easy walk to all of Del Mar’s lovely shops and restaurants. We loved that part because of teenager could walk to the beach or into town while our little guy had some time just hanging out at home. In addition to all of those good things I will say that the woman managing the property was amazing. We had a couple of questions and she was both super prompt and very warm. That was lovely too. There were just a couple of minor issues: - The condo definity has some wear and tear. It was clean, but in places a little worn. - The dryer was very slow. It took hours to dry one, modestly sized load. - The pool isn’t heated. I realize that’s an expensive luxury but it would have been really nice. All told, it was a great spot. We’re grateful to have been able to visit.

Great beach location

The home is well maintained, clean, and had everything we needed to enjoy a beach vacation. Fantastic location for beach access! The house instructions were thorough and clear, the house has labels throughout, fully equipped kitchen, full size laundry, good internet speeds. The kids enjoyed the books and tv in their room. Having a reserved space in the garage was convenient (clearance was low but sufficient for standard SUV). Note for light sleepers - you can hear the nearby light rail train, but the available white noise machines help. It is also a commuter train so does not run all night long. Overall, would absolutely recommend this home and would book it again.

Beautiful, clean townhome that was SO well stocked!

This was our first trip to the San Diego area and we were nervous about what to expect by bringing our 2 year old along. This rental made our trip so stress-free! It was VERY well stocked (from spices and oils to a huge collection of books for my daughter to read) The crib was perfect for her. The location across from the beach was great and the garage parking made getting home from a long day of sight-seeing a breeze. We loved that we could use the beach chairs and toys (it's just a short walk across the street to the ocean.) The place was spotless and all the appliances were top notch. The master bed slept great and we loved having easy access to the washer and dryer. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks so much for a wonderful week!

The most amazing stay!!

I can’t begin to say enough good things about our experience!! This condo was so clean!! It also had everything we needed to make our stay more comfortable! It had beach gear, bath tub toys and even toys and books!! My girls actually wanted to hang out at the condo instead of going to explore because of how much they enjoyed the toys! Great Stay

We had a great trip and thoroughly enjoyed the property. The location can't be beat, as it's right across the street from a fantastic stretch of beach, and it is also just a short walk into the main part of Del Mar. The property has everything one could need - and I do mean everything. It is equipped as if it's someone's own vacation house, not just a rental where the owner is trying to cut corners. It was particularly helpful to not have to haul a bunch of books / toys / beach gear for our little ones - so much there for them to do. Wouldn't hesitate to book again.

One of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed!

The home was so great and we were made to feel so welcomed. Nina had a very sweet welcome basket waiting for us along with a book with all the information we needed to have fun. The beach in Del Mar is endless beauty that extends all the way down to Torrey Pines that has extraordinary hikes along with ocean and cityscape views, too spectacular to put words to. The house had everything our family of 6 needed. Plenty of towels, dishes, cookware, beds, beach toys... Del smart was just the location we were looking for to get away, but close enough to venture out to explore new areas on adventure days. The ping pong table by the pool and jacuzzi tub were a hit! Thank you for allowing us to stay in this beautiful home in the middle of paradise. We have left refreshed! The beach was my heaven on earth!

Wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful time at the townhouse. The townhouse is very tastefully updated and very clean. It also included so many amenities that we were able to enjoy. The hot tub and pool were open and the hot tub was heated and lovely. The pool was not heated, but the kids were still able to enjoy it! The beach is a block away, and we went every day, at least, once . There are boogie boards, surf boards, beach chairs, and sand toys that were easily accessible on the private patio. We returned from the beach each day, hosed off the wet suits and boogie boards and left them safely on the patio. Easy peasy. You can walk to a nearby park and restaurants. The location is amazing. This place is a winner!

Walk barefoot to the beach!

I reserved this for a 2 week stay while recovering from brain surgery, we were required to stay close to the hospital. We were shocked at just how close you are to the beach, literally didn't even need to put shoes on. Del Mar is such a wonderful town! This condo had everything. EVERYTHING. Well stocked with blankets and pillows, very comfortable beds, all the beach toys you could ever need, and really well thought out decor. Everyone was comfortable. I can say it was the best Vrbo experience we've ever had. Nina was incredible, give that woman a raise! The pool was great, it was a quiet location even being next to the tracks, there was never a noise issue. I can't rate this high enough. Great family place for sure!

Our family had a wonderful relaxing weekend in the nicely remodeled condo. Super clean and fresh, nice fixtures and comfortable furniture and beds. Perfect location for walking to beach and Del Mar restaurants and shops. Hope to visit again!

I am originally from Rhode Island but have lived in San Diego for over 30 years. I have been doing vacation rentals in San Diego and Del Mar for almost 20 years.

I love my job and love all the families I have met over the years. I am a previous owner in Del Mar and now I currently rent in Del Mar. Being a local is a dream come true!

I think you will like working our staff. I am very lucky to have the best assistants, cleaning crews and handymen who have also all worked for me personally and professionally for over 20 years! We truly do our best to make sure you feel at home.

We supply paper towel, trash bags, Kleenex, dishwasher detergent, some laundry detergent and toilet paper.  There is a Keurig coffee machine and a regular coffee maker with filters.   We also supply one hair dryer, an iron & ironing board, one pack n play, a high chair, washer & dryer, 4 beach chairs, 2 boogie boards, 1 umbrella, 1 cooler and sand toys for your enjoyment at the beach!

Everyone loves the location. Across the street from the beach and walking distance to shops, the park, playground, Sea Grove Cove, L'Auberge Hotel and restaurants. We live in San Diego and want to make you feel welcome. You will love Del Mar and enjoy a vacation with friends and family. Walk across the street to enjoy nightly sunsets that look like a postcard! FAMILY MEMORIES FOREVER!

2 parking spaces, all your beach gear and paper products included! Free Internet! Designer furniture. Great home for families or just a couple looking for a romantic getaway.

We also have 2 parking spots a pack and play (portable crib), high chair Our flat screen TV’s offer the TVG Horse Racing Channel and the NFL Sunday Ticket Channel. Our home has free high speed WiFi internet.

Our kitchen is fully stocked with all the cooking gear, ready for you to make your family meals in. Our private patio area is a nice outdoor entertaining area complete with a BBQ. Very nice to have access to the complex pool and jacuzzi for days when the beach may be chilly. We have some sand toys for the kids enjoyment at the beach. and all the beach gear essential for a great day at the beach! We also provide beach chairs, boogie boards, sand toys,, a wagon to pull gear, beach towels, etc.

The weather is almost always perfect... our motto is 70 and sunny! For hot days, we provide central a/c. For cloudy days at the beach you can use the community pool and jacuzz!
The normal order of things here is sunny, not too hot, not too cold -- they're the kind of days other cities hope to get a few times a year.

It is also an easy walk to Powerhouse Park, Jake's & Poseidon beachfront restaurants, and Del Mar Village for great shopping, food and entertainment. This property lets you experience the true ambiance of Old Del Mar including the Coaster Train.  It is only one mile to the Del Mar Race Track and Fairgrounds.
This complex has ten individually owned units Relax in the heated spa or take a dip in the swimming pool.   Each bedroom has it’s own bathroom.  If you need toddler supplies; we have a pack-n-play and a high chair for you.  Our town home features 2 underground parking spaces, a personal patio area with a BBQ, free wi-fi, and a washer/dryer.
Enjoy a walk at sunset on the beautiful Del Mar beach or have a picnic at Powerhouse Park.  We have beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas, coolers, and toys for your enjoyment at the beach. We also provide some paper towel, toilet paper, kleenex, dish soap, trash bags and some cleaning products for a vacation ready home!! FYI this unit has TV in the family room and the 2 upstairs bedrooms. (No TV in the downstairs guest room)
