Hi Patricia, we want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following: - As we mentioned, we change the well water filters regularly, but when we get significant rainfall, the soil absorbs the iron and turns a bit brown. It can settle in the basins and appear off-colored. - Unfortunately, this amount of rain can also mean that bugs are more prevalent than normal. We work hard to spray for critters but as we are located in the woods, they will always be present in some regard. - The cottage is part of a working farm backed by a wooded area, so guests should expect the rustic charm that comes with the property!
