Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed most the location. My family took advantage of that to tour some of our old favorite haunts like Cape Perpetua, Devil's Churn, visit with Captain Robert at Luna Sea, hob nob with Valeria at Toad Hall, explore a beach we had never been to before and check out the tufted puffins down at Heceta head. Best part of the house was the cozy and comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay since the location was across the street from a less populated beach area and it was spacious and comfortably furnished. Pros: Quiet, comfortable seating in dining and living room, open kitchen, multiple beds with privacy, 2 bathrooms. Cons: Dirty windows with cobwebs outside on all of them, no instructions on how to use the wood stove in living room, grill was filthy and had no propane. The ocean view is far away, minimal, and sometimes non existent due to the fog from the ocean.

Great time

The house was great. Love the location with so many hikes and places to see. House had nice beds, bathrooms, kitchen. Perfect for our family of 5.

Check-in was easy and straight forward. Kitchen had had all the essentials and was clean. Had a ton of room for us (we had four people), but there was room for more. Nice clean bathrooms. It was a cozy and comfortable space. Communication was easy peasy. We'll definitely rent this place again, it was awesome.

It’s older but has everything thing you need but mostly it’s location is great, you're out of town between Yachats and Florence within easy driving from Lincoln city to Coos bay. Highly recommend if you want to some seclusion that close to low traffic beaches within walking or 10 minute drives.

Tenmile House – Great Location, Honest CharmTenmile House delivered exactly what we were looking for. The ocean is just a 3-minute walk away, and the tide pools south of the creek are spectacular — we counted hundreds of starfish. The location is hard to beat: Thor's Well, scenic overlooks, excellent hiking trails, and the charming town of Yachats are all within a 10-minute drive. The setting is quiet and peaceful, which we appreciated.The house was clean and well-suited for a large group. The kitchen is functional and met our needs, the first-floor bedrooms are comfortable, and while one bathroom doubles as a laundry room, it's a generous space. Note that the bunk room is quite small, and the second-floor loft bedroom is semi-open to the first floor with no door for separation — something to keep in mind for light sleepers. That upper room is dated in style, but clean.There's no direct ocean view, though you can catch a glimpse through the corner windows of the living room. The gardens surrounding the house have real potential — rosemary, thyme, and established plantings that would be showpieces with a little attention. The exterior and windows could use a good power wash, though this was purely cosmetic and didn't affect our stay.Two families of four shared this home for a long weekend and never felt crowded. We would return without hesitation and happily recommend Tenmile House to anyone seeking a no-frills, well-located retreat on the Oregon coast.

House needs more cleaning

Dog poop bags and cans in backyard, very dusty, bedspread I slept in had food stains and chunks on it. Bedspreads should be washed after every visitor! No outside garage can to be found. We did have fun visiting local beaches and restaurants and seeing family we hadn't seen in years!

Nice lay out of house. Sleeping arrangements down stairs is nice. Dbl bathrooms was perfect. The location is not as advertised, I thought it was in or close to town Nope. The mice were a little cute , but unnecessary. 3 minutes into BBQ steaks. Run out of propane. No worries, there’s a back up bottle… empty as well. Would I come back to Ten mile House, Yes If I didn’t have to work in Waldport. And it was just for chill and Netflix. Yes 100%. I would come back Mite call ahead, to the super nice property manager, ask if propane tanks are filled !
This is the best steak seasoning ever and Dano’s yumm yumm get ya some. Of course.

A wonderful respite

10-Mile house was terrific. We had a wonderful visit in Oregon with family and friends, a chance for one last vacation with a friend who will soon pass from cancer. We had a major hiccup with our trip when my mother broke the front door key off in the lock. Steve was amazing, as I and some other friends were rushing back down the coast to help out, Steve had brought a spare key, removed the damaged one, and opened the house for my folks to get safely inside. He even offered to help get my elderly father from the car safely inside the house. The support from both the VRBO staff, and the property owner really made this vacation amazing. 10-Mile House will top my list of places to stay if I get to return to the coast.

Ten mile

I could understand how some would not care for the place. It's dated and inconvenient if you want to run to the store in under 10 minutes. The house could use a good window cleaning, mold in the window casings gave the closed house a musty smell but aired it out and was fine . Lived on the Oregon coast for 15 years so knew the area, great for us, some of the best beaches along the entire coast and way less crowded than most. tareaout and it waz fine.

Cozy home with a peak view of the ocean

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a 4th of July family reunion. Our children came up from CA to enjoy Gods creations here in the NW. The home was perfect for us. Plenty of room and a fully equipped kitchen. And a new BBQ!! Outside in the back yard there is plenty of room to bring extra chairs to sit and talk.The pick nick table is a plus! Lots of seating inside to gather guests and play games. There’s plenty of parking too. Walk across the hwy and your at the beach. The property manager Peter was the best. Answered all questions. We even did a “ pocket dial “ at 11:00 pm and he answered the phone!! 😬 He said no worries.. lol

Ocean view is a joke, it is a little peek so far away you don't know if it is sky or water.

no ocean view, very misleading ad about the ocean view. We are in our 70's so we thought we would be able to relax and watch the ocean. The bed spread in upstairs bedroom was either stained or dirty. Some of the dishes in the cupboard had been used and put back dirty, a cup had multiple rings in it, which came right out when washed. Stove was dirty, the windows were filthy. The water pressure was bad. You couldn't run the dishwasher and shower at the same time, if showering when someone flushed the toilet, you got scalded. We had a hard time getting the pin number to get in. Could not get a live person, only answering machine, so we could not head to the beach until we had a pin. When we finally got the pin and drove there we had a terrible time getting in the house because the lock box was corroded and would't open. It was a very disappointing trip and certainly not worth $400. a night

I wasn't sure how noisy it would be, after arriving and seeing how close it is to the highway, but it wasn't bad! The home was clean and the beds were comfortable. Truly the only negative is the beach closest to the house is full of big, smooth rocks. You really need to hit it at low tide to get any sand. Check out was easy and didn't require a lot of extra work.

Loved having beach access directly across 101. Would definitely stay again. Just remember this is an older house so temper your expectations and you won’t be disappointed.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Found the house to be run down, carpets are 20+ yrs old and worn out. Fridge leaked water constantly on floor. Not enough towels, TV remote was filthy even after I cleaned it. You need to put some money back into this property. Not legal , No smoke detectors and second means of egress blocked off, (DOORS)
