La villa spacieuse est entièrement privée car elle se trouve dans un grand terrain au sommet d'une colline. Il surplombe la réserve naturelle de S'Albufera qui est une zone désignée d'une beauté naturelle exceptionnelle et inscrite sur la réserve de biosphère de l'UNESCO. Le lac d'eau douce est le point d'arrêt au printemps et en automne pour de nombreux oiseaux sur leur chemin vers et depuis l'Afrique. De la piscine en avril et mai, des rossignols peuvent être entendus chanter toute la journée. Des huppes et des tourterelles peuvent également être vues et entendues, tandis que des rapaces comme l'aigle botté, le crécerelle et le milan royal planent au-dessus. Il y a des promenades et des sentiers à travers le parc et au printemps, il y a des fleurs sauvages en abondance, y compris de nombreuses espèces d'orchidées - ces mois sont un must pour les amoureux de la nature! De la terrasse sur le toit, il n'y a que trois autres propriétés visibles et deux d'entre elles sont situées sur une colline éloignée. An idyllic week

Fabulous location surrounded by birds and flowers, especially in Spring. Beautiful spacious villa. All amenities surprisingly close given that you're in the middle of a nature reserve! We'll visit again.

Comfortable and well equipped

We have just returned from a fortnight at Casa Pia and have had a very enjoyable stay. The villa is comfortable and well equipped and the heated pool was absolutely gorgeous. We would highly recommend this to anyone seeking a comfortable base in a beautiful quiet setting. Booking was easy and the owner was very helpful and responsive to any enquiries. The location provides wonderful views across the open countryside with beautiful sunsets and easy walking from the door. We saw booted eagles, hoopoo and red kite from the roof terrace and tortoises on the tracks through the reserve.

Lovely villa in peaceful location.

We really enjoyed our stay in this villa. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is definitely one to consider. The accommodation worked well for us in terms of layout (family of 5). The facilities in the villa were generally good and we had no problems catering for ourselves. As we visited in April, the evenings were rather chilly so we made use of the wood burner. Adequate bedding was provided. WiFi connection worked well. Unfortunately the pool heating wasn't as effective as it should have been but the children enjoyed the novelty of the hot tub. We have been to Menorca 4 times so know it pretty well. It's so easy to get here from the airport and no part of the island is very far away, given its size. Jackie, the owner, was extremely friendly and helpful and we also had prompt help from Sarah at the property management company, when we needed it. We highly recommend this villa and location. The weather in April is still uncertain at times but on the whole it was fine. The park is lovely for exploring and the children were very excited to find and hold a tiny baby tortoise! We will definitely consider returning in the future.

Thank you very much Helen for your review. I am so glad that despite the unpredictable weather, you had an enjoyable time at the villa. I'm so sorry that the pool heating wasn't working to its full capacity - we are currently looking into ways of improving the heating output to ensure stable temperature in bad weather. However, I'm so glad that the hot tub was enjoyed by all. You were very lucky to find a baby tortoise - we had one living near our entrance gate a few years ago and always felt privileged when we saw it. You would be more than welcome to return!

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour. La maison est très confortable, bien équipée et très propre. L emplacement à l intérieur du parc est parfait car nous apprécions le calme et la nature. maison bien équipée en pleine nature

Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine dans cette villa très bien équipée. Nous étions en avril et il faisait encore frais... les chauffages ont été utiles et nous avons fait du feu. Peut être faudrait-il inclure du bois dans la location pour le mois d'avril car il est difficile de trouver de vrais buches dans les magasins? Nous avons apprécié les attentions à notre arrivée tardive: des oeufs, du lait, du pain et une bouteille de vin! Parfait! Une fuite dans la cuisine a vite été réparée: merci Sarah. Excellent séjour avec la piscine chauffée entre 24 et 26°. Les chambres sont très bien ainsi que les salles de bain. Nous recommandons cette maison pour un séjour en famille, tranquille en pleine nature.

Pleasant, well-maintained villa

A very easy week, with all needs catered for. There was aircraft noise (but the children enjoyed the planes!) The birdwatching (particularly raptors) was great, with eagles and kites almost in the garden. Ants were a problem at first, but we managed to sort them. We were disappointed by the proximity of the neighbours: for the first few days there were none, then a very noisy family "entertained" us with very loud parties until 2 to 3 am Overall we enjoyed a very good week in your lovely property,

Thank you for your review. I'm glad that you enjoyed your week at the villa. I'm afraid that there will be a certain amount of planes flying overhead, as with most parts of this part of Menorca due to the convenient location of the airport. However, they are high above and we have never found them to be a problem. I'm very sorry that you were disturbed by a noisy neighbouring family - this is very rare. The vast majority of people are very appreciative of the relaxing 'vibe' of our natural parc. One of the things that we all ask as villa owners is for visitors to be respectful of this to maintain the peacefulness of the area, so I'm sorry that you experienced this.

A lovely, relaxing holiday in the peace and tranquility of Casa Pia

A fantastic holiday spent relaxing by the lovely pool. The children spent all day in and out of the pool and with the added bonus of the hot tub and outside chess set, we rarely left the villa. The villa setting gave us the peace and quiet that we were looking for, whilst only being 10 minutes drive into Mahon and Es Castell for evening meals and shopping. The villa was clean and very well equipped with everything you could wish for to make the stay a home away from home.

Lovely Villa

Great service when booking the villa. Jackie was extremely helpful and very quick to reply to any queries. The villa is a very modern and clean environment for us to enjoy our stay. Our children enjoyed the swimming pool, wifi connection (Kids are easily pleased with technology these days) and Sky. A very pleasant stay in a very remote area. If you like peace and quite this will be your perfect villa. Only issues we had was the ants! But that's to be expected in a natural park. Recommend to anyone.

Stunning location

Casa Pia is comfortable and homely with lots of unexpected extras which make all the difference. It is clean and well-maintained with managers close by in case of problems. The villa has far reaching views and is in a very peaceful location. There is a surprising choice of dining and sitting areas both inside and out while the master suite makes a wonderful retreat. We had a wonderful holiday here and would recommend to anyone who loves walking and wildlife.

Wonderful well-appointed and quiet luxury villa

Casa Pia boasts an idyllic setting with scenic views across Albufera National Park, 10-mins from Mahon Airport. Uniquely, the comprehensive facilities are on a single level, with just a few steps between areas outdoors. Although well within the park, the villa has two neighbours in reasonable proximity, helping avoid feeling isolated. Two sleeping areas sit either side a central living area. The third and fourth bedrooms have ceiling fans and separate bathroom, ideal for a second family or older children. We however move the single mattresses into the main bedroom dressing room (leaving sofa bed unused) so the children can benefit from the air conditioning. The kitchen includes dishwasher, double-door fridge/freezer with ice-dispenser, washing machine and microwave. The lounge has leather sofas, chess table, freeview TV, DVD player and Wifi. If sitting out in the evenings, incense sticks help keep mosquitos at bay. All food crumbs should be cleared to avoid attracting ants, which appear for the smallest morsel. Previous visitors have left beach umbrellas, inflatables and other toys and numerous novels. If assistance is needed, a property manager located at the park entrance is quickly on-hand. Outside, the undercover area with dining table and comfortable chairs is great for keeping out of the sun and evenings. The 10m pool is meticulously clean and in which it’s been a joy to see our children progress from arm bands to lengths. A large BBQ is accompanied by third outdoor eating area with large chess set, on which our children have enjoyed learning the game. The modest garden includes a small hut and secluded swing, which older children can enjoy exploring. Given the relative remoteness, a hire car is advisable. We recommend ‘Keels & Wheels’ for their outstanding service, including meeting in arrivals and outside departures. The National Park has well established trails, great for evening walks. The nearby village of Es Grau has a shallow and protected beach, ideal for younger children. Slightly further is the city of Mahon, with historic ‘Old Quarter’ and lovely port with shops, restaurants and yachts, particularly nice for sunset saunters. There are many beaches, each with unique appeal. We recommend Son Bou, Cala Galdana and Cala Blanca. Casa Pia is a wonderful luxury villa where we have spent the last four of our six visits to the Island. We thoroughly recommend to any family seeking a quiet and well-appointed stay.

Perfect family holiday villa

Casa Pia provided well appointed accommodation in a beautiful setting and with excellent facilities. The Villa and outside areas were clean and well maintained whilst internally it was very comfortable with a large range type cooker and fridge freezer with ice maker. The air-conditioning to the main bedroom was appreciated as well as the mozzie screens to the windows (although mosquitoes were not a particular problem whilst we were there). Everything, electricals etc, worked. The villa is superbly positioned offering beautiful views of the surrounding countryside yet despite its' 'rural' setting is only a short drive from Es Grau and Mahon. Es Grau beach is perfect for families with young children and the local bars and restaurants offer perfectly acceptable fayre. Es Castell, Cala Fonts and the Port area of Mahon offer more bustling evening activity with a wide range of bars and eateries to suit all tastes along with shops and the boats in the marina to admire. We have been to Menorca before, over to the south of the island, but were looking for a more isolated, peaceful location that wasn't out of reach of Mahon and usual day to day facilities (true, you are never far from anywhere on Menorca, but holidays aren't for sitting in cars!) and Casa Pia fits the bill perfectly and we wouldn't hesitate in recommending it. The owners recommended SOL Cars for our car hire and we were very happy with them. P.S. The Pharmacy on the Port Road provided penicillin for our daughters ear infection (too much snorkelling) which saved a trip to the Health Clinic and should be the first port of call for any minor ailments.

We first visited and fell in love with S’Albufera in 1992 and after a few more holidays in the parc I was lucky enough to be in a position to buy Casa Pia so that we can continue to enjoy this beautiful area. As I owned a Grade II listed cottage in a conservation area in Sussex that I ran as a holiday rental for over 25 years I am now extremely happy to be able to share my home in Menorca with other holidaymakers. Casa Pia is a large villa perched on top of a hill with 360 views of the surrounding national parc. It is extremely tranquil and private and sometimes the only sound to be heard is the birds singing. Despite this feeling of peaceful seclusion the villa is only a fifteen minute drive from the airport, so one can be swimming in the pool within an hour of landing in Menorca.

The villa has a lovely rooftop terrace for sunbathing or watching the stunning Menorcan sunsets (or sunrises!). The pool can be heated outside of peak season (charge applies). There is unlimited free internet access throughout the villa and UK TV channels if you need to keep in touch with your life at home. There is also a DVD player with a small selection of DVDs. Casa Pia is only five minutes' drive from the unspoilt, child friendly beach at Es Grau and only ten minutes from large supermarkets and the bustling capital of Mahon.
