We certainly do recommend that guests hire a car, as is clearly stated on the listing, there you will also find a map indicating the distance to local amenities. Which, as previous reviews have mentioned, are within 20 minutes walking distance for most people. Our local management informs me, that you were recovering from a knee operation at the time of your stay and were therefore unable to drive or walk very far, so I understand that this wasn’t an option for you this time. I’m told she also personally offered to deliver any shopping you required to make things a little more comfortable. I'm sorry to hear this didn't make it easier to enjoy your holiday. The television has a free-view satellite receiver, and receives global English channels such as sky news I believe, but of course as the villa is on a Spanish island, the English programming is limited. Therefore guests who would like to watch television in their own language tend to do so by using one of the on-line streaming services, which can be connected to the television via iPad or similar if required. In terms of entertainment for children, it is my personal experience, that the pool area, beautiful weather and family friendly beaches are more than sufficient to keep them occupied. For times when they would like a little more action however, there are several water parks on the island (one is a 15 minute drive to neighbouring Arenal d'en Castel), go-karting, horse riding, snorkelling, windsurfing, canoeing, markets and festivals which run throughout the summer. I apologise if this information was not made available during your stay. In future we will insure more flyers and guides are available to guests upon arrival. It is fair to say that Son Parc itself is a relatively quiet town for night life. A further reason we normally recommend hiring a car is the opportunity to reach the neighbouring towns, or main cities at either end off the island, where you will find many options for dining, night life and exploring local culture in the evenings. As a family owned villa which has been in use for over 30 years, we are constantly trying to ensure a clean and comfortable stay for our guests and I apologise if you feel in some way disappointed by your experience; a leaking tap is certainly not an ideal welcome. Unfortunately these things can happen, and are simply out of our control. I am glad to hear however, that the matter was able to be resolved quickly. Thank you for your feedback, we hope to be able to do better for you during a future stay.

Dear Alejandro, Thank you for your comments, although I cannot agree that the furniture is "basic". The downstairs bedroom mattresses are due for replacement before next season. Regards, Peter

Many thanks for your review Joanne! Personally we would always recommend car hire, not only because it makes shopping easier, but because the island has so many treasures to discover. Also if you plan a few hours on the beach, it's much easier to load the car up with stuff! As for the TV, programmes are limited to the "freeview" channels via the router, as the satellite is no longer in service. What I will do is make sure there is a selection of children suitable DVD's at the Villa in time for next season. The "Netflix via tablet" option is what we do too! (When we are not barbequing or partying :-) )

Thank you for your review, Lisa. We will take note of your suggestions! A Visitor's book is a great idea, and will be in for next season. Fan issue already sorted, have upgraded them. Air-con has been discussed for upper two bedrooms, but our family are not keen on the idea to be honest. Downstairs bedrooms are noticeably cooler. Many thanks for your comments. As a family we have had many happy times at the villa and Son Parc in general, it's good to know another family have discovered the "Menorca magic".

The underwater pool lights now working on automatic timer. We will certainly consider some sort of awning or shading for upper sundeck in time for 2014 season, although for poolside the shade under the arches is where we relax! No plans at the moment for an outside toilet/washroom, but combination of the downstairs toilet/bathroom and poolside shower works fine for us. Many thanks for constructive feedback, we value it!
