Excellent stay at Holbrook House

A lovely well equipped house in a great location minutes from beach. So comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches - a real home from home. The garden courtyard was also very special and beautifully planted. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend.

Holbrook House review.

A lovely property which worked really well for our mixed group of three generations of our family plus a very small dog. All prior requests were met and available on arrival eg travel cot and high chair and we were pleasantly surprised at how spacious the property was. The location is excellent as the house is very close to Deal High Street and all its amenities. I would recommend this property to anyone visiting Deal.

Wonderful Easter break

Our family (5) spent the Easter break at Holbrook House in Deal and it more than exceeded expectations. Location was perfect, in a quiet street that is close to the High Street, lovely shops, pubs and restaurants and of course, the wonderful coastline. The accommodation was excellent. Charming, comfortable and cosy as described, and more spacious than we anticipated. The kitchen was really well equipped and features such as the great quality coffee machine were much appreciated. The rooms were all delightful, and beds very comfortable. Pretty faultless! The weather was kind to us (lots of showers predicted, but not many materialised) and the sun came out so we could even enjoy an hour sitting in the pretty courtyard garden. Could not recommend more highly.

Overall a great stay but couple of observations

Overall, this was a great stay. Lovely cottage, very quiet road but close to the beach and High Street. Parking pretty easy. Cottage really nicely furnished and good quality but two observations; - I'm not that tall (5.11) but the main bed was pretty small, not ideal for two people. The room could accommodate a larger bed and it would be ideal - Recycling instructions did not work and (outside in the alleyway) there was clearly a pile up of uncollected rubbish and recycling which was a little off putting. So while I would recommend, if you are taller than me, just be aware.

Holbrook House Christmas

A lovely house, tastefully modernised but not overly so with a very well equipped modern kitchen with enough crockery to feed most of Deal. A cd player would have been useful as we bought our Christmas CD's with us but couldn't play them, also a small radio downstairs would have been handy. The log burner is lovely but we were at a loss to know what to do with the ash, so it had to go in with the rubbish, when cool! This is obviously a family home, with photographs and knick-knacks on every surface, some clear space for our own things would have been useful as we were staying for a week at Christmas time. These are just small observations and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the house. Highly recommended and we would certainly return.

Great location but some issues

The house is full of character and very well equipped, with everything a visitor could need and more. The beds were comfortable and the showers and bath excellent, Ideal location for exploring Deal (and beyond) and the town is a delightful mix of small independent shops and a great selection of places to eat. On the less favourable side, the house smelt very strongly of dogs which we found unpleasant. Yes, it is let as 'dog friendly' but for those unused to dogs it was quite overpowering and persistent. We felt the downstairs decor made the front room rather dark and it was too overlooked to feel really relaxing (perhaps 'frost' the lower glass panes for privacy?). The shower room basin, which is quite small, is dominated by an overly large cabinet that prevents face washing or wet shaving without dumping water all over the floor. The courtyard garden is great but some of the lovely plants need cutting back as they block access. Parking was not an issue as restrictions run out just a few hundred yards away and spaces were easy to find for daytime. We would recommend property to others but with a caveat about the dog smell issue if not dog owners. Overall though we enjoyed our stay and will return to the area.

Holbrook House is a Wonderful!!

We had such a lovely stay at Holbrook House (myself, my husband, mother-in-law and 2 teenage girls). It really felt like home from home! Very comfortable and well equipped. Literally, everything you could need is in the kitchen. The house is in a lovely quiet street, but with a very short walk to the high street and all its lovely little cafes, independent shops and restaurants. Also very close to 2 little wine bars, but neither are noisy or late and not on the same street. Of course, the main point is how close it is to the beach. Just fab! Such a sweet little garden - so relaxing and peaceful. The house itself is very tastefully decorated with some lovely furniture and accessories. Great showers and very comfortable beds. We had no problem with parking and stayed in July. Overnight is allowed in the street and then we easily found free parking within a short walk to leave our car during the day. We stayed during the heatwave and it was quite hot at night, so some fans would be great for next summer. Aside from that, I really recommend staying at this property.

Enjoyable stay

Property was very well equipped and well furnished. Touches of luxury- lots of cushions, blankets and decorated for Christmas. Everything you could need and in central position to enjoy Deal. Only problem for us was that several of our group were tall. Ceilings were low in several places. Daughter hit her head on door frame, and beds were too short with footboards.

Recommendation for 7 Water Street

We spent a perfect week at 7 Water Street, the house was lovely, the weather was glorious, there was not a lot else we could of asked for really. The house itself was the perfect size for our family of 5 (plus dog), it was contemporary in it's design and is set in a perfect location for the sea front and high street.

We had a fantastic stay in Deal. The house was clean, well presented and close to the centre of Deal and beach. The independent shops, Saturday market, restaurants and other attractions that Deal offers were all close by.

Great House, perfect location

Great house & location for a weeks holiday. Only issue was foot boards on all beds which are not comfortable when you are 6’3”

A great week!

In spite of the overcast and often rainy weather we had a great week. The property had everything required to make life really comfortable and even the dogs give it their 'paws' up. Would come again with no hesitation.
